I always liked the small callback to Sonic Adventure. Sonic knows the emeralds still have another power even when drained, and taught Blaze how to use it.
This game was so much fun to play. My brother and I played it together, he played Sonic's story, and I played Blaze's story. And then we got to this fight. It was such a neat way for my brother and I to work together to beat the Eggmans together, passing it back and forth to our respective characters as the boss switched screens. This is definitely one of our favorites.
It's so sad that Sonic 06 apparently abandoned this storyline; it was my favorite Sonic story, I liked the idea of there being a parallel world to Sonic's with its own version of him and Eggman there. They should have made a standalone Blaze the Cat game (they did for Shadow, after all) that took place in her world, after Sonic Rush Adventure, of course. Still in this same storyline. Would have been cool to see more of Blaze's world and be independent from Sonic's involvement for once :P

I believe that sonic 06 Blaze is the same as Rush Blaze. Remember, she left to another dimension at the end of 06 (the sol dimension, I presume). So, when the events of 06 were erased, Blaze wasn’t affected because she was in another dimension. That’s what I think anyways.

I suppose it's kind of sudden to get sentimental about a friggin Sonic game of all things, but tbh I recall getting this game at a pretty rough time during my childhood and lately I've been thinking about it so here's a little story for those who'll stumble upon it. To sum it up my grandmother at the time was coming of age and I couldn't see her during her final days alive. I was still pretty young at the time but old enough to understand how serious it was. My parents told me that one of her last gifts to me was a DS game. Now I got NSMB and Sonic Rush on the same christmas and while I don't remember which one she got, I've always thought that this game was the one that she got me... And with how the game comes to an end I think I know the reason why. Sonic was something I was super huge on during my youth, even with some of the games being considered awful, I didn't care my goopy child brain would absorb that. And as a kid I ultimately enjoyed Rush more than NSMB and today... Little bit of a different story today though I do believe Rush is a more bold and dazzling game. The one thing I think helped me though was Blaze's story. Now it's not really a nuianced story and infact I feel other bits of media have done that kind of story but better. I do think however it came for me at the right moment in my life. The way that she progresses as a character who pushes others away to eventually accepting them and helping each other is something whilst not relating to death, it at least helped cement to me that reaching out to others with things I'm having trouble with is more helpful then burdening myself with the problem all together. And of course with the very end to learn to say goodbye to someone who'll probably further away than you can imagine... And hopefully one day that you'll meet again after that. Of course I'm aware of the sequel and how it tries to continue Blaze's story which I mean that game is also pretty cool too lmao, though it definitely came after so I'm not as strong feeling about that game outside of enjoying some of the new levels and jetski stuff. But I think that should go into saying despite something that's ultimately a more by the numbers story and a Sonic game that's ultimately decent in the eyes of others, I don't think it should be understated that some games and some characters can ultimately become precious to someone for the most unsuspecting reasons. Super glad that this Blaze is canon.

Does everyone noticed that everytime Eggman teams up with another mad scientist as mad as him, it aways results in total distortion on reality it self? Like: -Right here, on Sonic Rush; -Sonic Generations; -And the Sonic and Megaman crossover especial Worlds Collide;
I unlocked the extra zone while I was on holiday but didn't twig that Blaze could throw fireballs, so I was just left dodging attacks for ages...then I looked it up as soon as I got back and instantly felt like an idiot. Also the ending was heartbreaking to 12-year-old me (and to be honest still is a little 7 years later)
I never made it to this final ending because I always had trouble getting that last chaos emerald! It was literally impossible to dodge all those bombs but kudos to the ones who were able to beat the game
Yeah I low key think Sonics upbeat attitude and blazes chill demeanor would make a great couple. Plus, blaze is BASICALLY his equal in strength and speed. I think they could be a couple it's just they don't get to see each other Like an outer dimensional relationship😂😂😂

I have such a strong emotional connection to this game. Back during 2010 I got this game and it was love at first play. For a while it was the only sonic game I had ever played (unless if you count Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Winter Games) and I really liked Blaze but I wasn’t entirely sure why, nor did I question it at the time. But now I know. I saw myself in her. I know all too well what it feels like to shut people out and feel like it’s all on your shoulders, to feel so alone. But we’re not! And we don’t have to live like that! So yeah basically I kin Blaze. I legit feel like this game was made for me (I mean it was made for a lot of people but y’know) and it will always have a special place in my heart and I’m thankful I have it

Also my game decided to freeze right after the ending cutscene where blaze flies off and the credits start i was mad the boss took me 10+ min to complete….thanks 3ds.*

This reminds me a lot of The Doomsday Zone. It's not difficult to see the similarities.
There's also quite a bit of similarly to the Solaris battle plot-wise.
