Indeed! Humility goes a long way. Only thing worse than a bad loser is a bad winner. Farag oozes humility and respects all his opponents. To many more years of squash by this man!
The clearest juxtaposition in squash sportsmanship and character you’re ever likely to see. Days like this for Asal will hopefully help him develop as a man and a gentleman
You guys are way too stuck up lol. Asal's a normal passionate dude who likes celebrating, stop acting like squash players need to drink tea with their pinkies out on court
@@dontwatchdotorg Roger Federer used to break his racket as a junior in Basel . They told him, one more racket and you don't need to come back. He heard them, and became who he is now. Asal needs someone to tell him to grow a pair, and soon.
Farag is the best squash player that I’ve ever seen.. To stay focused and completely dismantle such an intimidating power player like Asal is rather impressive.
This was so satisfying! No kid's celebration. Thank Farag for teaching other things besides the squash lesson. Asal: step out of your cloud, so you can get higher.
Asal is 19. Let's wait for his brain to catch up with his body. I think he did pretty well in this tournament and played some patient accurate squash, such as against Coll.
When Farag first popped up to the squash world, I was not his fan, but Elshorbagy's instead. The more I watch Farag playing the more I love him. He plays the game so gracefully, just beautiful. Besides the game, he has a great sportmanship, respect everyone from players to fan. Thank you Farag... I am now your fan. And BTW, thank you very much for beating that clown badly...
Farag played a good pace without the haste ! Asal in his head had already won the tournament. He's young and exhuberant, got amazing squash skills - they got him to the semi final to be fair.
However talented Asal is, all his antics just makes everyone root against him. I have no idea why someone around him hasn't said "tone it down, otherwise everyone will hate you". Don't give me the "he's young" argument, he's an adult and should have a bit of awareness that he's quickly becoming a bit of a joke
What was wrong with Asal's behaviour in that match? Or the last few matches for that matter? The last few matches he has been utterly professional and has produced some incredible squash. If people like you are going to 'hate' him for behaving as he has done, then I think the problem clearly lies with you. What precisely were the antics that were bad enough to make you think 'he's quickly becoming a bit of a joke' and that 'everyone will hate him'?
@@Sam-pr8gb sorry my bad, Rodriguez. But look at how he shouted at rodri right on his ear. Thats disgusting. And the last point? Others shout, but in a good way.
I don't remember whether he always was but Farag is certainly a class act these days, on court and in interviews like this. The question is whether he can match the very best champions' intensity!
It's a pity that Asal had an injury, I think it would have been a more interesting match otherwise. For all his terrible behaviour, he is a talent and hopefully he is back at full strength soon. Farag is so classy in every way and something Asal should aspire to.
Such a disappointing result... Was expecting fireworks.... Dessouky match was the one too watch.... I'm proud of his mental toughness cause his going to need it against Faraq...Hope it will be a better final and live up to its expectations
One of the commentators said “Asal didn’t turn up today”. He did. Sometimes you have to work and use your brain to win matches. Too many unforced errors and a reluctance too grind out points. It’s not that easy a game. (Squash). No guts no glory. Asal over time will probably learn how to win ugly. Time will tell.
Asal is so much more respectful when he plays other Egyptians. That’s pretty disgusting. Should t matter who’s he’s playing. Commentary is still bias tho. Makin asal perry can do no wrong. Odd tho the Brit commentators back asal. Maybe because he’s young.
That kid needs to get his act together. There’s no denying his talent and sheer force, but he will become a pariah pretty soon if he keeps being so disrespectful when celebrating.
@@kevinmyers6176 the kid needed someone to put him back in his place. As I said, no denying his talent. But being disrespectful - especially towards non Egyptians - is beyond acceptable for a celebration and shouldn’t be looked over just because he’s young.
Lmao, just look at the difference between the matches of young Farag and Ashour and between Asal and Farag. There is literally no camaraderie and respect from Asal's side even after the match is over.
i don't believe for a second that Asal had a blister. If you've been playing squash for years it just doesn't happen, right? He was outplayed by Farag and needed an excuse
Perhaps you should refer yourself to his instagram page where he posted numerous shots of a huge welt on his right hand last night. Not saying he wasn't outplayed but he definitely had reason to complain.
Yes Titan here... I've always loved villains in sport: Mcenroe, Power, Mike Tyson; the Yankees and Broad Street Bullies (hockey) for you non Canadians...and I want to see Asal at the top so I can root against him. I don't need to see people trying to 'settle him down' and change who he is...we're already conditioned enough by authorities. Let's see a fight on the court!
Not a single scream or celebration from farag, great sportsmanship, and he always applauds great shots made by his opponents.
Indeed! Humility goes a long way. Only thing worse than a bad loser is a bad winner. Farag oozes humility and respects all his opponents. To many more years of squash by this man!

Great tactical game by Ali Farag. Lesson for Asal in temperament, anticipation and clean hitting. Kudos Ali

Asal will probably be reach #1. He’s very exciting to watch. Hopefully he’ll mature in terms of behavior and outlook, so he’ll have fans.
Absolute nightmare of a matchup for Asal. Farag is too relaxed, consistent, and accurate to have any trouble with Asal's aggressive fakes and shots
