    Mick what a treat that shot was with 2 freights, the 91 and 170. It demonstrates just how good Werrington Junction is. Thanks again for this great footage. All the best. Ben

      Sometimes you just get lucky with those shots Ben. A few days later I got a similar one, the Azuma shot of the year😁, with the evening Azuma on the Stamford line, the north bound one on the main line and a south bound one all abreast between Werrington Junction and Hurn Road. Unfortunately I just moved the camera slightly sideways after a few seconds and unbeknown to me that awkward gantry post pinched the focus and blurred everything, arrrrgh!

      @@peterlittle6651 I remember some quite extremes during my lifetime of living in the Fens. In the late fifties we had some hot summers and drought where we loaded anything that would hold water onto a tractor and trailer and went out to water individual sugar beet plants and other crops as best we could, the severe winter of 62/63 with very deep drifting snow, the weeks of continual hot weather in 1976, severe winter again 81/82 where we could not get out of the house for a couple of days due to the amount of snow. Weather patterns are always changing, it's just that the news coverage is greater now and more dramatised than ever before. Nature will do its own thing and this little island with its obsessive green agenda will hardly make a difference in the whole scheme of things other than to line the pockets of those promoting the doomsday scenario.

      @@werringtonjunction Agree, 62 / 63 was extreme, in Central London it was not as bad as being in the shires but even we had snow well into April, as you say the weather will do what it does and we will co exist. Regards Peter

      @@werringtonjunction the 180 at 0:20 appears to be numbered 112 which may make it one of a group referred to in the caption of a photograph in RAIL'S latest News in pictures. The second part of the caption reads " EMR's four ex-Hull Trains Adelantes were all withdrawn from inter-city service following the May timetable change, despite their replacement Class 810 bi-mode units not being expected to enter service until next year." 180s would be welcome on the Birmingham to Stansted route which gets 2 car 170s very crowded at Cambridge and Peterborough..

      @@tomcarr1358 I can assure you it is 180110. well it 'ses so on the front.😀 The photo in Rail is of the same ones I videoed about an hour later at Hurn Road, video No.98 at 25:30.

    Nothing like watching other people at work and good to see your operating space. You would think that when the permanently coupled flats are loaded they would put all the boxes together behind the engine to offer the least wind resistance -- see 5:08. TC

      I think we would all agree Tom that placing containers at the head of the train would be more aero dynamically efficient but it is not as easy as that in the computer controlled distribution process. The trains are up to 775 metres long and static at the point of loading. Loading everything from the front would have multiple loaders trying to run up and down the length of the train which would not be practical. Then there is the different type of container, high ones, 40ft length, 20ft length, which need to go on specific wagons. The weight of a specific container and its contents can determine where it is placed on the train, then there are hazardous materials and perishable goods, etc. Ships have to be loaded evenly, no good putting all the heavy containers on one side of the ship and the lightest ones on the other side. So each container is automatically allotted its position according to its size, its weight, its contents from the loading on to the ship, then on to rail and arrival at its destination. Welcome to the computer controlled world of logistics that can sometimes defy logic, as we watch the trains go by.😁😁😁

      @@werringtonjunctionOne of the worst trains to drive for feeling wind resistance is the Heck empties @21:00, like dragging 24 parachutes round, notice them a lot more than a ‘gappy’ container train.
