There's a 1000x easier way to do this. Search Google for light trails .png and right click > copy image > paste it in your photo > distort to fit subject > change blending mode to lighten or add. Bob's your uncle. AND, they look way more realistic.

I just learned the shift click brush trick and this is a clever use of it. Great job with this and looking forward to using it.

fantastic tutorial. I am an architect and I just showed our render team (they should actually know that) how to create light trails themselves instead of copying from images...which are most of the time not the right angle and super tricky to cut out!

This subject always fascinates me, it is such an obvoius way to produce light trails especially if you want a darkish moody scene or want a nice glow from the sky and can't make a long enough exposure to get nice long trails. Yeah you create light trails based on original light trails on the picture, but tell me how can I make them without any photography.

★MrNiaMsTeR if you want to select a layer, just click in it and then you can move it or do whatever you want. If you want to load the selection from the layer, then ctrl + click on a layer. Ctrl + D is for deselect a selection. Cmd + D is same but for a MAC users. Hope this helps.
