Thank you for the quality review. After watching tonight’s episode I made the decision that I had to have one and actually stop the episode to watch your review and I’m about to place an order somewhere. Thanks again

Great review! Mine is on its way to me from Japan (with Beskar Mando and IG-11). I was worried when I first started watching your review that I would be disappointed. But I have a lot of patience and am looking forward to receiving mine. Heck, just for the pram alone! Thanks for your time on this review. Much appreciated.

Thank you! This was honestly one of the longest and most challenging reviews I've ever done. The figure is so small yet so complex. You're going to need that patience! And yes, the pram alone is a $10 accessory.

Will you still be reviewing the mafex version of mando?

I still have not picked up a Child/Baby Yoda figure. Definitely leaning towards the SH version after watching this.

This is certainly a good option. The MAFEX version is releasing in December. so I'll be looking forward to comparing them.

To be honest, this figure is same tragic as Black Series one.... Seriously they can't catch Grogu's look?
If I can make it home-made then why the professional companies can't... nvm version 2.0 comming I hope.

I actually bought the BS Child, because why not...but I specifically remember skipping the Mando the one time I saw him at retail (thinking Id see it again if I decided to buy). Not a big deal as it turns out the Beskar armor is look that is more associated with the the pair. So I was going to pre-order the Beskar Mando, but now it seems there is going to be a deluxe pack that comes with the beskar Mando? So I would be on board with that one.
However this does look excellent and all the point you make has gotten me to consider this pack, but its probably going to cost even more than just the regular price if you factor in shipping and maybe mark up/. I definitely have a problem with the softgoods and would think about making my own. They look great, but the material looks pretty stiff and then the sleeves of course being the bigger problem. Interesting about the size. I thought the BS Child was the right size

I think I paid $30-35 for him, and then shipping (along with Beskar Mando) was as low as $15 for the slower option. Not terrible considering where it came from, but a hefty price for such a small figure. I'm hoping the one that comes with the MAFEX Mando will be the definitive one.

Nice review Vic. I don't know, I really wanted this version of the child but now I don't know, the Hasbro version isn't even an option for me because that should be an accessory and not a single release.
Maybe later someone else will release some other version in this scale.

The MAFEX one will be released with the Mandalorian in Beskar Armor in December. I'm hoping that's the definitive one. But you can't buy him separately unfortunately.

Great review Victoria, and you basically covered my thoughts on the figure.
I have three main issues with the little guy:
    1. The loose cuffs are annoying. They just sort of free float and are impossible to line up seamlessly with the sleeves. The collar though looks nice and while it inhibits movement somewhat, the head articulation is still achievable.
    2. Both of the arms on mine pop off if you look at them wrong. Even slight posing is dicey, which is a shame as it really limits the potential of the articulation. Also, popping the arms in, for me, is not easy, usually I manage to pop off the head an/or the other arm accidentally.
    3. The legs are funky and dont like to stay in position. I feel like im constantly futzing with them to stay level and flat
That being said, he looks great, especially in the pram, and I feel like he was worth the $35ish I paid on amazon.jp

Thank you! I also agree $35 is pretty much on the mark. The pram itself is a $10 accessory, and the rest seems pretty fair for the quality of the figure. He's definitely a pain in the rear, though. I think once I get him into a pose I'm happy with I'm going to keep him there for a while.

Woulda been amazing to have that screaming joy face from the speeder bike scene, but at least you can take the frog from the BS and have the child hold it, with some finessing.

Yes, that would have made for a great alternate head!

Great review as always Victoria. I love SH Figuarts figures, but OMG what were they thinking with this one. They made some ready stupid design choices with the 1st Mando figure, but this is a real pile of junk thanks to the poor body design and those awful cuffs. Roll on the Mafex version. I love my Mafex Boba Fetts, so hears hoping their one is just as good.

    • @VictoriasCantina
      @VictoriasCantina  4 ปีที่แล้ว

I think they got a little too ambitious. I feel like SHF figures sometimes try too hard and over-engineer things when it's not necessary. I think this is one of those instances where less would be more. I have the MAFEX set on preorder and I'm hoping that's the definitive version of Baby Yoda in this scale.

That is some weird stuff they did to make the figure.

    • @VictoriasCantina

It's a little overdone but it's pretty good. We still have the MAFEX one on the way, so here's hoping it's definitive.
