You should of done Burst Strike before Bloodfest coming off of CD, so you could have gotten those two carts You should burn cartridges as you get them, this is what I've been doing personally. I've been following this ten-second rule I established for GF, every time GF's cd is ~10 seconds, I hold the cartridges to go into GF, if I have two and the GF is not under NM or if I'm somehow about to overcap, I just burn a cartridge before GFs coming up. iI have great ping but that would suck if you couldnt get great ping an d makes a jobb you want to play be bad. I still feel weird that GNB is a tank but I like tanking so its cool for me
What is the correct thing to do on pull: run through and face boss away, pull and stay and let raid move behind? I'm trying to learn the right way to do a lot of this stuff as I find I like a lot of the tanking jobs best, it's just intimidating to think about all the ways the tank can screw the fight. Right now I am just doing "turn stance on and press button" content, but I want to challenge myself to get better and be good at harder content
You can also face pull with Keen Edge, but it can be a bit challenging if you're not great at positioning the boss. You just pop sprint as you're running up to the boss and it'll make positioning the boss really easy.
This is the way!!! Love how you say "you start with this then hit this then this then this--- All the other videos I've watched literally just read what the move does. No explanation on when to use when not to bla bla bla. They also never explain the order of the buttons to hit.
Can we get an updated version? 🥺 I did pretty alright on GNB in ShB but since EW, nothing lines up or fits in anymore and my rotation just keeps falling apart 😓
If they don't lower the cooldown of that 1 whole fucking minute of Aurora. Gunbreaker will never be a good tank. Make it at least 20 sec. 1 minute is ridiculous.
Honestly i'm getting lost with all the buttons you're pressing. Would be nice if you could have what Desperius has with the ability timeline bar that shows what abilities you're pressing in a horizontal timeline bar. This way i could pause and look at the order at my own pace. When you say "you see this shit?" all i see is a mess of icons all spinning, no idea what you're pressing.
I'm still working through the MSQ as a new player but the plunge rant has never made sense to me. if you countdown and plunge on 0, whats the difference between that and lightning shot on 0? "melee are missing a GCD" is the only argument I see against using plunge, and I get that the boss moves closer to melee when using lightning shot, but your GCD still begins rolling before the other melee in both cases. Does that tiny movement by the boss somehow mean that melee don't miss a GCD even though they still clearly started their GCD later than the tank? obviously taking every tiny DPS increase makes sense so I've made it a point to never plunge on pull regardless, I guess I don't get the insane reaction of the "FUCK YOU FUCK FUCK YOU" for plunging, like am I missing something deeper for it to trigger THAT bad of a reaction?
Well for one the boss moves faster than the players so starting off with a ranged attack the boss heads towards the party meets half way, if you use the gap closer you have to run back farther for the boss to actually move so yeah melee and ot openers are delayed and that delay will most likely stick until fight ends and generally you want the boss centered and running back then running through the boss so the boss faces north the melee will me missing positionals with the boss turning around mid combo. As a tank you need to positon and pull the boss a way that can maximize your melees dps a tanks gain of like 10 more dps by gap closing isnt worth both melees losing roughly 100 or more combined
Melee missing a GCD is the reason, and it's a huge one. I believe in the DRK video Xeno mentions E11S and the lightning line slash, where if everything is lined up you can get that extra GCD in. This does not just go for you as the tank -- that is literally the least important part of it. But your 1/2 melee? They are equally as sensitive. The difference is that they instantly die if they don't make it out in time, whereas as a tank you don't. Equally a lot of jobs has specific timing. If you did not pull just on time on my SAM on E12S you could easily turn my orange percentile into a green percentile, because the delay meant I had to cancel a burst during Shiva, which means my CD is not all out of whack and all out of any raid buffs. All because the tank plunged in, or a ranged early pulled. During a log run, as a SAM, I would jump off if someone early pulled or a tank plunged to pull. because the effect of that slight difference would make or break the run. Whether because of a tight timing like E11S lightning sides, or E12S doorboss burst timing, or anything that is the same. Now, a tank running and using ranged means that by the time the boss react, I have sprinted to the boss already. My GCD is rolling just as the tank has aggro. heck, at times a melee gets aggro for 1 auto attack before the tank, which is usually harmless (except on E8S...) So, yeah. It is exaggerated a bit, but not by too much.
Oh, and to add on: When you plunge you move to the boss and the boss stays. When you pull with ranged, the boss moves towards you while you run to the boss. Meaning everyone starts closer to the boss by the time the attack hits the boss. The difference can be half a GCD - 1 GCD. Which, when you do GCD perfect uptime is the difference between a good run and 2 dead dps. best case you lost a GCD on 3 jobs for no reason. All for the cost of.. nothing, really. Doesn't cost the tank much to just not use plunge. There really is no upside to plunge pull, but it has a downside.
Not only does it mess up the melees, but it also messes you up. You want everyone's GCDs to line up around the same time, if you use Rough Divide before Keen Edge you're losing a GCD and fucking up the timing of your rotation for the whole fight. The opener is crucial to not mess up for the party, it is a massive burst of damage at the start and can deal like 5% or so of the boss's HP in a matter of seconds.
You are trading 3 DPS GCDs for one tank ability. The party should try to accommodate as many 2.5 GCDs in a 10 min fight as possible (most Savage fights the boss enrages about 11:30 minutes). Think about how many times you hit the boss rather than how hard you hit it. Xenos tips about not being bad are more important than learning a particular opener or rotation. Openers and rotations are what you create by practicing in a dummy and dungeons because it should be what feels natural for you. If you are good and consistent with your own rotation that you created then you should be very good. Adjust your rotations as needed.

Ranged GCD pull, move through, generally stand North facing South, enemy facing North.
@@Eishikigami awesome! That's what I've been doing. Thanks for the reply!
You can also face pull with Keen Edge, but it can be a bit challenging if you're not great at positioning the boss. You just pop sprint as you're running up to the boss and it'll make positioning the boss really easy.
What's the Gunblade he's using called?
Edenmorn Gunblade.
This dude is BASED
I started with plunge, not anymore I guess
lets go dude
Nice video. Jealous of the beard. :)
I just want to know the glamour on this dude, he looks fucking awesome! So yeah, what is the glamour on your guy in this clip?
Augmented Rathalos Mail [M]
@@toadi5520 thanks! That’s what I suspected but I wanted to be sure! Time to grab some more scales I think.
@@toadi5520 any idea on the gauntlets?
This is the way!!! Love how you say "you start with this then hit this then this then this---
All the other videos I've watched literally just read what the move does. No explanation on when to use when not to bla bla bla. They also never explain the order of the buttons to hit.
Yo yo! These guides gave me a new wrinkle in my brain dude. Using macros to not disengage the boss?! Who would’ve thought smh I’m facken stupid 😂
So where’s the beginners guide for this so that I understand all this?
GUNMODE
Can we get an updated version? 🥺
I did pretty alright on GNB in ShB but since EW, nothing lines up or fits in anymore and my rotation just keeps falling apart 😓
Hmmm this sure is a different vibe than Zepla.
Lol
Truth coming home
thx xemo :)
I’m surprised he didn’t get eaten alive for saying you can macro oGCDs
Ok bearded man, make me not bad
Ok, the sprout appreciates the advice found in this video
If they don't lower the cooldown of that 1 whole fucking minute of Aurora. Gunbreaker will never be a good tank. Make it at least 20 sec. 1 minute is ridiculous.
Wait a minute…. I thought this was a glam video.
More gunbreaker vids. There are too many bad gunbreaker
Imagine being this angry about gap closing lol
Honestly i'm getting lost with all the buttons you're pressing. Would be nice if you could have what Desperius has with the ability timeline bar that shows what abilities you're pressing in a horizontal timeline bar. This way i could pause and look at the order at my own pace.
When you say "you see this shit?" all i see is a mess of icons all spinning, no idea what you're pressing.
Im the guy that opens with the gap closer lol I been doin it wrong.
Eh, don't feel bad, it just feels good sometimes lol
My GCD is rolling just as the tank has aggro. heck, at times a melee gets aggro for 1 auto attack before the tank, which is usually harmless (except on E8S...)
So, yeah.
