Just saw this album live in Brooklyn. It was an incredible performance. I think we are seeing them in their prime.

I freaking love these collaborations! Seeing this album thrown around quite a bit lately, will make sure to review in in 2023 :P

Great job here! Been a fan of TDH for years and could not agree more that the are just truly under the radar for most, but should be at the forefront of Prog and Rock! Thanks for talking about this great band and killer album!

It’s all good but Act V is still their best work IMO.

great discussion! Super cool to have both you guys on TPR talking about TDH and Antimai.
The world building/map idea makes a lot of sense. A bit like Act I or even The River Empires (which the only/debut album was an Epilogue, and was supposed to be 6 or 7 albums, which part of Epilogue would represent each one).
Perhaps there will be an album about each Social Class going forward?
Also of course Jordan totally speaks my language when dropping names like The Reign of Kindo, The Family Crest and Dirt Poor Robins.
Thanks for doing this, You guys should do more of these.

I’m new to The Dear Hunter. It’s an interesting album. It’s a grower. Yeah it’s quite similar throughout which I guess is a bit odd if it’s really supposed to be music representing the various areas. But if you ignore that part it’s certainly made me want to check out some more of their stuff. Also funny to see Jordan who just reviewed our album in Prog Magazine haha. Small world.

I got into this band with Act 4, saw them live on that album tour with Chon. Got act 5, and then started going back, can't say I really liked Act 1&2, 3 wasn't near as good either. And the Color Spectrum doesn't win me over either.
As far as Jordan's MCU reference, no one is not into because of the new characters being new, everyone's sick of forced woke narratives Disney is obsessed with currently.

I felt the same way as you about Acts 1-3 but this year I fell in love with 2 and 3 so there’s hope yet
