A simplified explanation, start Fate/Stay night with the visual novel, the anime’s follow the prequel, route 2 and 3 are the movies, however while it expects you to understand somewhat how the world works, shows like Apocrypha, Kaleid, Grand order, are spin-offs so they don’t require knowing what happens in in Stay Night. Its complexity is often overblown by people.
Fate/Zero cause that's the prequel, then Fate/Stay Night, then Unlimited Blade Works, then you can order the spinoffs at your leisure cause their not connected at all.
I think they did away with Resistance to none magical attacks in the new version so I’m not sure that the 6th level feature of Kensei actually does anything.
Ahh... this brings memories for when i scratched by me brain trying to build Archer EMIYA after college with the 2014 rules. The closest i got was (it wasn't fully perfect) was with (i believe) 15 levels Hexblade Warlock / 5 levels Eldritch Knight. There's many ways to attempt to build Archer, but the only true problem is UBW as a final attack is VERY DIFFICULT to attempt. Hexblade Warlock + Weapon Bond allows you to summon literally any weapon you want, your bow would be handled by your CHA and your Shortswords by your Dex, or viceversa.Invocations for Mage Armor, and could reflavor Eldritch Blast as bursts of arrows. Demiplane (8th Level mystic Arcanum) was a decent UBW. Anyways, this video seems to be more like Emiya Shirou in UBW, since it focuses more on the basic combat skills which is understandable, UBW is just almost impossible to portray in DnD. The rules opened so much possibilities tho, that's so fun!
Also, not a critique, but i found hilarious to have Lucky in there as a feat when quite famously Archer EMIYA has a D Class in Luck (although EX in Harem luck).
Archer's weapons look long enough to easily qualify as shortswords or scimitars. You could still get the Nick Mastery and also get the Vex Mastery too, boosting odds to hit. Also, you'll just always have a D6 of damage from each weapon. Unless you want to throw your daggers often. I might've missed that.
Great build. This resparked an idea I had a while back and decided to put off until the 2024 rules came out. Once I have it worked out, maybe I will come back to this video and post it as a comparison.
@chrismenary3340 because I know that the artificer is currently in the works, so I'd like an excuse to be able to use the new one as soon as it comes out
Archer is actually pretty slow though. He has C rank agility, which put him on same level of speed as Caster or Gilgamesh and he is slower than Lancer, Assassin (fake), Assassin (cursed arm), Berserker and Rider. He also ties with nerfed Saber, but even then she can at least cast haste (mana burst) on herself.
Oh thank god. The only other build for this character is a mess that using Feats over ASIs. It makes a shitty boss fight so a chance to replace it with something better would be great. *a few minutes later* It's better than the Fighter/Warlock/Bard foxy made. Gonna be hard to make the UBW, but this will do. Yeah, this is fantastic.
Escanor is very simple he's a zealot barbarian multiclassed with light cleric (go 5 ish levels) barbarians allow you to rage while in medium armor and escanor's armor isn't as bulky as some of the others who wear armor so at the very least he has a set of half plate since he's a character who's story takes place after the early levels of his story so whenever you want to do your ranged spells obviously don't be raging only rage when you go into melee with your greataxe For race reflavor goliath it can grow in size and you get some fire damage bonuses
@@dndbuilds Albeit demiplane does create a pocket plane, it does not 'trap' people into it. Mirage Arcana (if beg GM to grant this spell to sorcerer), would allow alter the terrain to look like Unlimited Blade Works (casting time 10 minutes fits for chanting). But an alternative can be that you cast the spell in advance or while hiding (cause it has a range of sight and has 1 mile radius). Now the reason to use Mirage Arcana also is that if you take animate objects; a hill or terrain full of swords, even if illusions, with Mirage Arcana are tangible and real, so they can be animated and used with animate objects spells to attack enemies with them. But overall taking 15 levels as sorcerer means that your actual physical combat prowess takes a deep dive and not be that useful in the physical combat aspect of the archer but I believe the animate objects+mirage arcana combo is closest on recreating Unlimited Blade Works as spell concepts go.
Sorry, but mage armor doesn't stack with unarmored defense. Under Armor Class on page 361, if a feature grants you another way to calculate AC, they don't stack. Choose which to use. The indicator is the fact that they both change your base AC. Shield of Faith and Shield spells would stack with mage armor or unarmored defense because they add a bonus, not change the way you calculate AC.
@@ericpeterson8732 I probably could have worded that better I meant more so that it doesn't conflict as in you can still use all the other bonuses from not wearing armor while still utilizing mage armor, like unarmored movement. I definitely should have been clear with the way I mentioned that

It is pretty funny that the guy with a six pack has a dumped Strength.
It's a DEX pack
I got a skinny-6-pack. As in im so skinny that the 6-pack is super pronounced, but I got very little muscles broken xD

Thanks for not spoling things, RJ, I don't even know were to start with the fate series!

Projectiles, I said I’m going to defeat you with projectiles.
How archer qualifies for the archer class.
0:10 I mean historically archers had backup weapons
Awesome video! I never really thought of monk for him, but it works great!
I think they did away with Resistance to none magical attacks in the new version so I’m not sure that the 6th level feature of Kensei actually does anything.
Yeah I'd recommend to just allow kensei weapons to benefit from Empowered Strikes

We should get a Ninjago character.

I ❤ this build! Is strong, but still thematic! Never seen "Fate" but l see this "blade magic knight" as a character!

You should also do the best healers for D&D 2024 at some point as well as the best damage dealers.
@@michaelgilding6531 I think I will soon
I'd love to see a jjba gyro or johnny build from part 7 please!
how about a build for Hajime Nagumo from Arifureta: from common place to worlds strongest?

Don't know this series the build is from but I was like hs is that knives from trigun?
A great build as always archer is a great character
If you can, please build Jack of blades from fable
Kensei pronunciation aside, great video
Would this be better with short bow instead of long? Longbow is a heavy weapon I thought
The kensai monk specifies that it allows for longbows, otherwise you'd be totally right
@dndbuilds ahhhhh gotcha. I appreciate that!
Martial arts apply to monk weapons? Is that a 2024 thing or was it always like that?
How would one play as Pinocchio from Lies of P?
Is it One DnD-based? I seem to lack many of the stuff you talk about in my phb

I suggest Escanor from Seven Deadly Sins, or Strife or Death from The Darksiders series.
