Ashley's video set off a 3 hour researching spree, watching other videos and reading about YNAB. I got excited, downloaded the app, just to find out that TD Bank is not integrated and that is a must for me. Bummed and back to the drawing board. If you have any recommendations for other apps that DO support TD or if you know when that bank will become available, that would be great!!!

My goal is to budget for real. I’ll explain. After watching some of you previous videos, I got excited to budget. I set up my own paper and pen spreadsheet, everything divided by 12 for yearly expenses, etc. Well, surprise! We paid off our house! Now, because my budget was self invented, I’d like to try it for real, lol. Thank you, by the way, for getting me excited about finance. And, we’re not rich. My husband is a retired fire marshal. It’s amazing to see good results.

I really enjoyed this video, it's nice to hear some real experiences with YNAB, it's been on my "I need to get into this" list for ages. My goal is to buy a car, as I have just upgraded to a bigger apartment and a car is the next "big thing" that would make my life way more convenient. 13 years of only public transport is enough.

I loved this video! Thanks for taking the time to do the time stamps and add the links, that is so helpful. I plan on showing my husband some of this as the one big thing we need to tackle is his student loan debt. He’s been burying his head in the sand for years and what he pays doesn’t even cover interest. It’s time we did something about it, so the YNAB app would be so helpful to us! I hope you continue to do more budgeting/money videos in the future and would love some recs for other budgeting TH-cam channels.

I feel shame about the state of my finances and seeing where you are after a year - joy, confidence, engagement and taking control of an area where you had been ashamed- has been quite the motivator. Such a great video Ashley! My financial goal is to actually work towards a budget. So much of this video resonated with me in regards to the shame, not wanting to talk about money, and spending needlessly. We are moving in to a new house that will require a lot of renovations. I love the idea of having smaller savings accounts or goals such as: new flooring, new cabinets or interior paint that would could try to work toward and slowly knock things of our wishlist! I've been tracking a lot more this year, too. It's amazing how things like take-out dinners add up! I've been better about saving but my goal this year is to get impulse purchases more in control so I can save more. I've been trying out the wishlist idea and waiting - it really works! I watch TH-cam to wind down from the day and I was bombarded by the Nsale videos. I ended up making a wishlist from the videos I watched and by the time public access opened, waiting had enabled me to cull my wishlist by like 90% and I only ended up getting things I really love and will wear a ton this fall :)

Ashley, this is a great video full of so many resources! I hope many people see it and become curious to grow their financial knowledge. It worries me when I see a store like Sephora putting out a credit card; it could lead to a never ending cycle for people who don’t have a good handle on budgeting. 😕
Anyway, your giveaway is a wonderful one. We use an Excel file that we built for our budget but I’m curious about YNAB. One financial goal that I’ve been working on is lowering my spending on “fluffy stuff” (makeup, entertainment, non-essentials). I already have enough stuff and wanna appreciate it rather than acquire more. 🤗🙌🏽

I’ve added all the books you mentioned to my amazon cart! But think it would be silly to purchase those right away without checking my budget haha!
So my budgeting goal is to figure out where I truly sit, create a plan & implement! This year I officially got into debt with grad school loans & a car payment.. so I’m anxious to figure out how to aggressively pay both off.
    Thanks for the video!

I honestly can’t understand how people even live without YNAB. If it ever goes out of business, I won’t even know how to manage my money. I have been using it for over three years. However I still need to do a much better job of building savings rather than justifying spending my disposable income.

Your videos are always so uplifting...regardless of the topic! We recently sold our home and are about to close on our new one. The sale of our home left us with the ability to pay off our credit cards and that is the BEST feeling! Now I feel so excited to really start saving and building emergency funds and working my way from feeling that “living paycheck to paycheck” lifestyle. Thank you for sharing your experience and giving me so many ideas!

I love these videos! We were avid travelers before coming parents, and now we've added two little girls to the mix. The dream is to go to Paris on our anniversary (ANY anniversary!), but it's become harder to track expenses and goals and priorities with a growing family. But thanks to your recommendations, I know it's possible to find that money and make it happen!

Thank you for all this information! I just finished reading The Financial Diet which you recommended on one of your previous money videos. Time to start another budget book soon :)
My goal is to pay off my credit card! Will be difficult as a grad student, but I'm ready to see no balance on my credit card statement.

Just wow, Ash! So many good things about this video, I don't know where to start!! I love how you seem to have surprised yourself by finding a passion for saving and that's what I'd like to uncover for myself. My husband and I are thinking of purchasing a new car minus the payments, so that's a short term saving goal we're working toward. As well, we both love traveling and would love to go abroad, but that'll require more effort on both our parts! Maybe YNAB is the way to go. Thanks so much for all the preparation that went into making this video and for sharing your new found passion! PS Bo's adorable.

Great video. I was so happy for you when I started seeing your money videos come up! Good for you!
I used to have serious money shame until my husband started sharing his budgeting process with me and explaining basic money concepts. Biggest financial goal we have is to get out of student loan debt! Credit cards are all paid off (yay!) and we're down to one student loan each. Then we can start saving for a down-payment on a house.

I loved this video and hope you’ll keep the financial videos coming! This has been my first full year on my own post divorce and it’s been a big year for me financially (my former husband refused to budget and was a big spender). Two of my goals for the year were to set aside $300/month in an emergency fund and pay 1 extra house payment. I’m on track to exceed both goals. With a recent job promotion I’ve been inspired to really further tighten spending and start allocating everything possible to saving and investing. Food spending is the one area where I still have a lot of progress to make with my spending, I’m hoping YNAB will help me set and stick to a budget. I love the mindset that every dollar has a purpose.

My husband and I want to start a family but we haven't finished paying off debt we accumulated in our move to our new house/wedding. Paying off that debt (and staying out of credit card debt in the process!) is my number one goal I'd like to tackle!!

My biggest financial goal this next year is to SAVE. I’m entering my 3rd of college & the goal is to graduate debt free. I am able to save a good percentage amount, but I’d like to cut down on little impulse spending and strictly stick to my pre-apportioned categories so that my numbers stay regular and consistent so I can feel confident and save even more.

I've been thinking about trying YNAB, so thank you for your insight! My current financial goal is to pay off credit card debt. I recently completed a cross-country move (Hawaii to Boston) and, unfortunately, picked up a little bit of CC debt in the process.
