I always think about my man Bobby that passed when we were kids. He was born handicapped with a heart condition but Bobby ran played and fought beside us like nothing was wrong. I remember I was getting ready for school one morning and my mother told me he passed. I tried to hold it in and be tough then my mother "it's ok to cry baby" I locked myself in the bathroom and lost it. I was only 11 and 38 now but I still think about my homeboy Bobby. Love you B see you when I get there.

Wow, brother,the way you tell the story it seems like it could have been yesterday that your friend died. It's crazy because that's the way it actually feels sometimes when you think back on things like that, wishing that it wasn't real but knowing that it is. It's just really rough to have to go through.
Remind me of our son, we miss him and we will never see him again either. He passed away in December 2012. He had brain cancer. He was only 24 years old. We all miss him so very much

I have lost many battle buddies in war. I grew up listening to Sade as a child, but recently came across this song. When I first heard it, I thought I was going to cry. I can feel this song in my soul.
How you get listening to this song speaks volumes of how a song can touch your heart & spirit. Did you that this sing is about her best friend who died and I read where her family didn't want Sada to perform this song for whatever reason I guess that's why there is NO LIVE performance of this song

No. Actually, Maureen was a real high school buddy and best friend to Sade. But sadly, she passed away. Sade was totally devastated and she painfully wrote this beautiful and heartfelt song, really it’s like a last letter to her friend, out of deep grief. But Maureen’s family thought Sade was commercializing on the loss of their loved one. Not wanting to be misunderstood, Sade vowed to never perform the song in public. In so doing she has respectfully proven her point.

When I heard this song from Sade I knew I had to play at the same way the drummer played it in the studio so I used to practice. Before July 20th, 2019, I use to love listening to this song and thinking about Sade's friend who passed but now I think of my own sister who passed away on that day. Each time I hear it, I think of how tragically her life was cut short and now she will never meet my new friends as I begin a new journey in my life and lifestyle. I will forever miss you Nikki.
