    It's often said that in the U.S. you can do anything until someone says you can't, but in Britain you can't do anything until someone says you can.

    When we give up our freedoms and liberties for the sake of security we lose both.

    • @SvenTviking
      @SvenTviking 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      uktvcool It's not about security. It's easy enough to get a disguised camera that looks like a tie pin or pen top if you want to film discretely for nefarious purposes like recording the security measures. So obviously it's not about security, it's about flexing their powers.

      "fuck off, and stop bothering me, if im doing something unlawful then call the police" what do you think about warning them? i mean technically someone so much as touching you when you dont want them to can amount to an assault, so yeah, stand your ground, and carry on!

      AS time goes on there are only ever more laws and regulations to the point we will reach someday that literally everything is illegal or restricted, some would say we are already there.
      I wish we still had the rights we had 5 years ago.

    This stuff is an appalling attack on the rights of the public, but don't blame these people in yellow jackets. They're called "jobsworths" for a good reason. You can't expect them to risk losing their jobs just by doing what they've been told to do. Blame the arseholes in management who make these stupid, fascistic rules.

    • @DieFlabbergast
      @DieFlabbergast 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Easy for you to say, sunshine! If they refuse to obey orders, they lose their jobs. Many of them have families, you know! And your Nazi-Germany reference is off the mark: the fault for the crimes of the Nazis lay with the Nazi leaders, not with the ordinary German citizen. Get off your holier-than-thou pedestal!

      so Just doing your job, relieves one of any ethical or moral duty/right? Just doing your job did not work at nuremburg, they swung, most of them live in fear of "losing their job", like a burglar getting caught! as i am simply a man, ON earth, i do as i wish, without causing harm , loss or fraud to any other member of mankind, i have had police stations and council re-educated, but then,...; just do your job aye? obey and question nothing, even when they tell you they are just showers after the cattle carts, just keep paying your taxes, good slave mentality on you/ewe!

    Hi Mark, totally agree with you - we have the same power-tripping-petty-control-freaks in abundance in Australia. Usually in the employ of our local councils, armed to the teeth with local by-laws and the power to issue expensive fines which rapidly multiply in cost if you ignore them.
    By the way your work looks great. I have a gh2 use it for news but find it hard in rapid focus change and zoom situations (eg: door-stop interviews). Do you have a solution (such as a comfortable rig)?

They're probably on minimum wage and just being told what to do. Start at the top.

    Unfortunately these, 'jobsworths' will lose their minimum wage jobs if they don't do what they are told by the very well paid Council management. These guys are on the sharp end and also have to contend with being humiliated on social media. Go round the council leaders' house and not only will it piss them off, you might actually get answers from the people who made these rules on high.

    People have been so ground down by constant dictates by successive governments, it's like second nature to just do as your told! Not me, I will argue with one and all regardless of how many times they voice their favourite mantra...."that's not allowed" I recently was walking down a street and for reasons only known to themselves the council had taped off the bottom of the road, which meant to get to the other side you would literally have to walk all the way round the block of flats, there was the usual council man sitting in his van doing nothing, so I enquired why He had tapped off the end of the road? No adequate reply was given so I just lifted up the rope and walked under it upon which the guy in the van gets out of his van and starts dictating to me like a little Nazi, including threatening me with the police, I told him I will gladly wait while he called the police, he then went into an tirade of abusive language......I told him I could go on my journey if that's what he preferred or alternatively I can come back under his little barricade and smash his van to pieces that would give him something to call the police for needless to say he had nothing more to say so I went on my journey..... That's jobsworths for you!

    "No. Now piss off" The easiest way to deal with all fluorescent jacket permission wankers, except maybe PCSOs where just to save them having a hissy fit and calling the non-special olympics PCs it's easier just to say "No"
