- Type O Negative Rare version of Summer Breeze called "Summer Girl". It's available on the CD "Suicide is Self Expression". The normal version was released on Bloody Kisses but this version was cut due to it's lyrics.

I met Pete for the first time at L'amour Brooklyn in 1991. I had recieved an early copy of "Summer Girl" from a dear friend. Much to my dismay, it was released in the stores as "Summer Breeze". I asked him why Type O changed the recording. Pete simply answered "Laywers." Then he offered me some of his V8. I wish that he would of stuck with the V8. RIP Pete.

I found Type O Negative in the early 2000's. I feel I'm still at the opening of the rabbit hole. I love diving in, but I never want to reach the bottom. RIP Peter. Thank you all for the music.

The original writers Seals and Crofts were deeply offended and fought TON on "wrecking their song with offensive and wrong lyrics". So they just wound up recording the real song and they still didn't like it. Fuck them

Oh, they originally included Set Me On Fire as part of Summer Girl and that's why it has that odd intro that sounds like it isn't the start of a song and talks about "Summer Girl". I guess it all makes sense now why it fits much better if you play it straight after Summer Breeze. I thought it was just Type O Negative being Type O Negative and not giving a fuck.

Seals & Crofts were the original performers, not sure of their individual names. This was pretty much their only hit in the early 70s. Peter said his older sisters growing up always played their records & this was the big hit that was all over the radio back then.
