I love the lady in this, an Engineer, and clearly involved and clever.
You’d want to put a lift/elevator in the tower first, before any other conversion was done imho
That roof is eventually going to leak.
All roofs will eventually leak, genius.
This is an old episode so I don't know if they ever finished the tower and began to live in it, but I cannot imagine a more clumsy and futile way of going to bed than hauling up those stairs(? did they put a new stairway in?) and down again especially without a bathroom in sight. I think this conversion was just an excuse for him to build his idea of a home in a green belt area and he got away with it.
I don't like it. Its very noisy from the traffic. The build was fascinating though.

this show is misnamed it needs to be "Modern Designs" ... every episode the host only sees Modern as quality. all come off as antiseptic, sterile, spartan, and feel like a Doctor's office. uncomfortable and not warm and homey. no one wants to live in a Hospital room.
I feel the same. What happened to cozy?
