Always interesting to see how many of these guys are still on the job. The youngest of them that are still in just hit their 30 year marks.Casey retired as a captain not too long ago and Choi is the interim chief.
This is why i dislike huge police departments like LAPD and NYPD. Too many people competing for ranks with slow promotions. Infact I was reading up on officers in CHP who have been in the agency for over 20 years and are still at the same rank of officer.
@@EasilyCringed Sometimes it's actually easier to promote in bigger agencies due to the sheer number of promotional opportunities available. Obviously it gets harder as you go up the ranks, but achieving a Sgt. rank isn't impossible. I've found that a lot of people who retire "only" as officers/deputies never wanted to promote. You see this a lot especially in bigger agencies because a lot of line personnel end up in special units/speciality assignments and they'd rather stay there doing what they love than promote and get sent off elsewhere. The comment mentioning the CHP pilot is a prime example.
@@thebronzetoo See, exactly as I suspected. You basically have to be the governors son or be really close with the police chief in order to gain a promotion.
And back when communities were filled with men that even when they got busted, they took their lick, not cry and scream and squirm all over the floor and ask for monuments and statues and demand they learn different, gender, identification, etc., etc.
Damn! Love this show. You couldn’t do this in today’s media landscape. Fellow officers gunned down then going to funereal and keep on going.. Freaking heroes.
I don't know where you get your information. But you promote if you want to advance. Its backwards in Ca. Small agencies are slow to promote. A large agency like the LAPD promotes regularly. If a officer stays a p2 his whole career, its because that's what they wanted. We agree to disagree. I have no idea about the NYPD but in Ca, you get what you put in.
Did you notice how he didn't resist nor yell out "What's your badge number!" or "Get me your supervisor!" He simply cooperated with the detainment then got let go. Night and day to what police officers have to put up with today.

You only made $6/hr or less
That was before we had a communist in the White House.

This must be The Real LAPD Episode 8!
Little did the videographer knows, one of the officers in the this video would become the first Asian chief of police in history of the LAPD.
The current interim Chief of Police is in this video. Domonic Choi.
Back when police did proactive police work.
The federal government ruined proactive policing as of 2005. Hasn't been the same since. I resigned in 2006 and moved over to corrections
And back when communities were filled with men that even when they got busted, they took their lick, not cry and scream and squirm all over the floor and ask for monuments and statues and demand they learn different, gender, identification, etc., etc.
It's the. DA now to. A cop can honestly do his job that don't mean the da and prosecutor is going to prosecute it to the full
The Asian bike cop on the left at 6:21 is the current interim Chief of Police - Dominic Choi.
they got 2 asians doing the paperwork and computer stuff LOL

No such thing as a EX MARINE
In that context, they are no longer Marines.
They’re not white guys and that’s not a 57 Chevy. 😁 the 57 Chevy is the most recognizable car ever produced.

And what happened to C.R.A.S.H. ?
CRASH was dissolved in early 2000, it was superseded and turned into what is now the Gang and Narcotics Division.
The H stands for Hoodlums and apparently it offends people! Joke...They still have gang units but new name new rules!
Dissolved in 2000 after major corruption investigations and scandals.
