Who's to blame for the Clippers collapse?
Doc was out-coached by a mile in this series. Mike Malone made adjustments after going down 3-1 and also made adjustments at halftime in game 7. Doc assumed that talent alone was going to get him to the conference finals and you could see that because he wasn't prepared for anything Malone threw at him in game 7 in terms of strategy. The Clippers offense was stagnant, and their defense was atrocious especially when you consider they were fielding 3 elite perimeter defenders. Even more noteworthy was a lack of camaraderie and a lack of energy in his players. When you see these two characteristics lacking in a team, you automatically have to look at the head coach. Every team in "the bubble" had to deal with the same situation/scenario, so that cannot be an excuse. Outside of his 1 championship with the Celtics, what exactly has Doc done?

Doc is mostly to blame but the blame falls on all of them. I say doc though because it's up to him to establish a culture and a plan for the team to follow. They said the clips looked gassed that is probably because doc didnt push them to keep up conditioning enough. The clips didnt finish off games. That's because the coach didnt teach them how to close they had 1 plan. His name was Lou Williams and when that didn't work the coach couldn't think up anything else. The team was probably feeling pressure to win as they watched it all crumbling down around them as they lost game after game and the worst thing you can do to a person in that situation is just leave them be and expect them to figure it out. They are professional athletes yes but they are also human and doubt will start to set in. When that happens they will play different worse. Doc needed to be a stern motivator for the clippers. He let them down and as a result they let him down.
