  • BUILT TO CRUISE EPISODE #11 Hear Cisco's story of how he has still has his first minitruck and has customized it while driving minitrucks his whole life. Through the years of customizing his Chevy S-10, he has owned several other minitrucks that he has driven daily such as a '97 Toyota Tacoma and a Nissan Hardbody.
His story begins when he was in Highschool and bought his custom S-10. Over the years, he has purchased and sold other minitrucks, including a Tacoma that was shot for Minitruckin' Magazine just before the magazine was shut down. Despite never having a truck run as a feature in Minitruckin, Cisco never gave up and pursued his goal of having an old school 90's minitruck build. His Nissan Hardbody can be driven anywhere and has been to show all over the country. True minitrucker style, Cisco drives his trucks daily because he builds them to be Daily Driven Minitrucks.

That's one thing I never understood, Why build one and not drive it..... I started building my S10 like 3 years ago and I daily drove it all the way up until I blew the Engine up in it, Now I'm getting ready to do a 350 swap on it and then I'll go back to driving it

At that time I think it was every mini truckers dream or goal to grace the pages of Mini Truckin Mag. That was like our proofing or stamp of approval that what we were doing was worth being recognized. That publication was solely responsible for my love of mini trucks. I remember the December 04 edition and seeing the Topless Tease truck on the cover and then reading and discovering that it was built in my very own state in Oklahoma City, just 30 minutes from where I was reading that magazine. Somehow knowing that cover truck was built in OKC made me feel like getting my truck on the cover was actually attainable. I was crushed when I heard that Mini Truckin Mag would be no more.

The death of the magazine crushed a lot of dreams, but many other publications still feature mini trucks. Sadly, it is still not the same. But any kind of national recognition for the hard work and dedication is a good thing.

I always hoped MT magazine would go with a video magazine format.I bought my first issue in 96 "Power Rangers" and subscribed for almost 15 years after that.I had a son and I got out of the truck scene buying a Honda with more room and better gas mileage. One night I stopped by Shiitz and noticed MT on the mag rack,so I decided to pick one up for old times sake..I had no idea it would turn out to be the final issue 😢

My truck, Speechless, was scheduled to be shot for Minitruckin and that month was the last issue, so the shoot was canceled. Although it was later on the cover of Truckin, it just wasnt the same. But, we hope to bring the same stories from the minitruckin community here and share them with the world.
