San Diego Nerf Club is planning a weekend with 2 games on April 30th to May 1st. We've invited members of BAUS and other clubs to attend if you're interested.
I doubt that would have been allowed as they have the same "load before the game" philosophy of box mags. The idea was to force strategy and lower the overall rate of fire.
Luke, I was thrilled to have you out on the field for my silly old school war, and I loved chatting with you as well. Maybe next time I'll loan you a fully functioning blaster ;)
Oh my god I used to be back on Nerf Haven forums in 2007 ish and I remember Drac from back then. Didn't realize he had gone so big on youtube and has a shop. Thank you for sharing, brings back warm memories.
Come to APOC in NJ, first Saturday of August. Starting last year, APOC will be held on a private paintball field. Last game we had about 80 people. Private field, lots of players, and a 300fps cap.
My greatest rival still uses a Rainbow Pistol as their primary, while I'm high power mag feds. Though a modern secondary makes me a little hesitant to just go for the bum rush. I've lost those too much. XD
I manage a Best Buy location in Utah. We host 25 ish people events once or twice a month, and I invite a select few from the hobby. We'd be HAPPY to invite you and the crew here! It's a lot of fun, cqb in an urban, different arena. Super stock rules maxing at 150/160 fps. Common game types include clickers, capture the flag, 3:15, single elimination, and my favorite - hvz. It's a mix of people fresh to Nerf mods and well known players/designers in the hobby!!
What a throw back, reminds of when i first got into the hobby and everyone's primary was something cobbled together out of pvc or had a massive airtank in it, also folks had to get motors from home depot and such, crazy to see how the hobby has exploded
It's definitely interesting to see a different style of game being played. It really goes to show how nerf can be enjoyed in several different ways and that having fun is the most important part, no matter how you do that (as long as it's safe and that everyone agrees to the same rules). it's in stark contrast to my group (the VFBA)'s close quarters 200 fps cap games. where hopper and mag fed flywheel blasters tend to be the most played. Great video. (P.S. I am not the same "Chicken" guy as in the video. I was unaware of his existence when I joined the hobby and chose an alias. I see now that this could cause an issue and I'm sorry for any confusion.)
4:25 This is something really unique about nerf in comparison to airsoft the lower pricepoint of custom and modified blasters allows a lot of creativity that you wont have with $400 airsoft guns
Thanks for this Luke. You are a gentleman and a scholar. Looking forward to seeing you in the Bay Area in May! Would love to have you at BAUS sometime sir!
Video just taps into everything I love about Nerf! I barely joined in 2019, so hearing and seeing anything about old school Nerf is new to me! One of our SWNC guys runs nothing but home made blasters! He built a CALIBURN with nothing but ACE Hardware parts, and it holds up as great as my Lynx or Skewer 😎💥
if I ever encounter a game with the no mag rule, I have a couple usable blasters for that, my modded Strongarm (OMW upgrade kit, and N-Strike barrel attach point) and I can single shot with my SPAMF (breach load half darts, muzzle load full darts).
Remember when you would tie a loop to the back of your Maverick so you could prime it one-handed? Or when the Firefly came out and having two extra shots was significant? The Raider with a THIRTY FIVE round drum? And Slamfire? Game changing. After that, you had people hacking off the magwells of a Raider and gluing them to the bottom of a Barricade, which was a Stryfe-before-the-Stryfe, and the original Alpha Trooper! Then there were the days of buying Solarbotics RM2's and swapping out carbon brushes, and then we found 3240SH's, and Falcon 130s, or spent the big bucks on XP180s! I thought Tamiya Torque-Tuned motors were awesome, when they weren't! I remember when MTB was hyping up the original Rhinos, and then Neo Rhinos! Crazy times! Nerf motors? Whaaaaat? Dr. Snikkas cages! The Elite line! We've come so far.
Luke, you should go to Grove City College the weekend of April 2nd for the HVZ event. Xavier and Flux are both going. It sounds like a blast!!! Check out Xavier’s most recent call to arms for details.
Depending on the disability, there are many flywheel blasters and a couple springers that can be used one-handed. If you want more help brainstorming specific options for your brother-in-law, shoot us an email to orders@outofdarts.com
I’m starting to wonder if Luke had majored in something to do with speeches. Like, if I didn’t have the video, like this was a Spotify podcast, I’d actually listen to it.
We're actually working on uploading all our livestreams as Podcasts. It's currently available on Anchor and Spotify, but we weren't going to announce anything until Google and Apple picked it up as well.
It's kinda funny, the "rock n cock" feeding is a thing in paintball too. I don't know if you ever played stock class, but it's the same thing, a horizontal gravity feed so you have to rock your marker forward to load a ball.
I really want to get out to as many games as possible this year! if you know of or are organizing an event coming up let us know down below!

I'm really interested into ur nexus pro mod it's like a over kill mod

Some day you should try making it out to SPANO in Saint Paul, MN. We'll be doing that on June 4th this year.
You are welcome at Castle Drac anytime. Really special that you got to experience COSTCOH, as there's truly nothing else like it in the hobby.
There's definitely still a place for old school themed games. Hopefully we can get more of those going locally as well.
Old school NIC games are best games. You can't change my mind!
It was so much fun having you over! It was great hanging out
4:23 hey, that's mine lol

It was wonderful meeting and hanging out with you after the event, Luke! Hope to be able to nerf with you more at future events!

New to the hobby, and I live in Atlanta. Excited to see how many folks are here!

Hey man, birds of a feather fling foam together! Would love to join you on the field someday :)
@@flyingchicken40 I'd love to too. you're doing really cool stuff and it's awesome to see. :)

Wish I had seen this video sooner, but I did notice something while watching at 1:04 , “This is the way”
Thanks for this Luke. You are a gentleman and a scholar. Looking forward to seeing you in the Bay Area in May! Would love to have you at BAUS sometime sir!
We’d be glad to have you back again anytime! Thanks for letting Bobo be your human shield ;)
That looked like such fun! I love seeing gameplay with old-school homemades, they’re brilliant 🤩. Thanks for sharing this! 🧡
Maybe you can go with the captain to the UMBC and Goucher HvZs the end of April in Maryland
Well, there's the invitational at UMBC and Goucher at the end of April. I can't make it because I'll be on the mend, but it promises to be excellent
your videos are one of the reasons im now a complete nerf nerd.
This a compliment or an insult?
I like Old School Nerf War!
Love nerf just got a 3d printer and my first rival gun
gotta comeout to nyc/nj for an UNO event sometime

🔥🔥🔥
I am sad that minnesota only has one nerf group unlike other states. Well it atleast makes me try to go to as many as possible.
We have a couple, between Project my Neighborhood, The Fowel park, and Tactical Urban Combat we are doing pretty well.
@@Eulemunin well, i can never seem to be able to fo to my neihborhood. And tuc is usually pay to go.
And i am in the facebook group too!
We tend to have weekend wars down at George Fox university just a little south of you, we’d love to have you show up!
I got a rainbow with an 18kg turf spring in it lol. It's fun but a crazy prime.
You should look into Gators Hvz, its a really big nerf club that hosts at the university of florida, we would love to have you come play!
Remember when you would tie a loop to the back of your Maverick so you could prime it one-handed? Or when the Firefly came out and having two extra shots was significant?

We've come so far.
How much spring do I cut of the cheetah 2.0 to drop it to 150 fps?
We haven't yet tested the Cheetah 2.0 for a lighter spring option. I try to keep you updated if we do come up with one!
Come to UMBC and HvZ! Or come out to one of the DMV nerf games.
I would be fine with this as my two favorite blasters don't use external box mags

Looks like fun!
Can you show a tutorial for some of the oldschool guns?
sweet
Is there a handicapped available blaster model? I'd like to get something like this for my brother in law so he can play with his kids.

Now I’m starting to wish that a Nerf podcast was a thing… Dang it
We're actually working on uploading all our livestreams as Podcasts. It's currently available on Anchor and Spotify, but we weren't going to announce anything until Google and Apple picked it up as well.
Come to DNA (Dayton Nerf Association) or CANE in Ohio. We would love to have you. There is plenty of footage online of both clubs!
on the subject of international games do you if there's any in the north of France?
What End War is happening again????
that shirt thoooooo
bet it looks even better in a pile on the floor 🙈💪
