Still loving my Nord Stage 3, barley touched half the features on the instrument since it came out and it’s toured with me all around the Uk over the past 5 years, and I can’t wait for a full review from this channel as I’m still not convinced the new features showed will be useful to previous Nord users maybe 😌
Nord keyboards have always been one of those dream keyboards I love and respect, Years ago a friend of mine purchased their first release and we were blown away at the time. The damn build quality was just second to none. Great company!
I'm super happy right now! Loving the new features and changes. I hope to have a Stage 4 soon. I will say, having played a Stage 3 and Wave 2 before, as a blind user I love using them because of the amount of tactile controls on there.
Congratulations, guys - a great product intro! ..wish I had the big bucks for this wonderful instrument! ..and Jack: thanks for your great moderation!!❤
Wow! This video explains all the major upgrades from Stage 3 to Stage 4. This keyboard is definitely a beast. The possibilities are endless! I want it! LOL
There goes my sense of superiority over Stage 2 users... This is a much bigger deal than some cynics are saying: the quality and versatility of the sounds of Nord have always been a bit limited by the UI, but this is as close as they've gotten to totally blurring the lines between stage piano and workstation keyboard. Incredible.
You can haggle tho, not with those greedy fucks at sweetwater, but you can haggle with independent dealers in cities. I got mine for $4,556.25 before tax
Excellent video and clearly an amazing keyboard. I do wonder what the sales will be like however. In the States, the Stage 4 is going to sell for 4900 to 5700 dollars depending on the model. That’s quite a nut for a board that most players will use a fraction of its power. As an owner of a Stage 3 for a few years now, I can honestly say that I could have achieved the same results on jazz and rock gigs with other fine stage pianos at much less the price. Don’t get me wrong, I love Nord keyboards but it will be interesting to see if they have reached a point where most musicians simply won’t be able to afford them.

Yeah, I'll still be sticking with my RD-2000 as my primary gigging 88, it gives me 90% of the sound of the nord and 110% of the features, for 50% of the price.
I never had a nord keyboard, and never will be (given my status in life haha it sucks being poor) but it's crazy that i have finished watching the whole video without skipping.. One thing is for sure, this keyboard is amazing and trying one is like a dream come true...

The is by far the best and most informative (and only?) Nord Stage 4 preview out here. Kudos to Jack and the Falcon! New features that I'd probably love: * physical drawbars on all models. * more direct control over the layers without switching from the A to B layer. * new FX and such Not thrilled about: 😒 * still only 2GB for piano samples? Really? Unless they've incorporated some new compression algorithms to pack more samples into 2GB. * different connector for the triple pedal (is there unique hardware in the Pedal 2 or can we just rewire the Pedal 1?) * I would like to have seen some sort of onboard USB audio to be able to balance the great Nord sounds with VSTs.
It sounds beautiful. Having separate effects for each tone is something I've had on my Roland gear since 2014, did not know they did not have that before. The panel layout is excellent. Jumping around to different tones to add layers is nothing new either, they used to call it multitimbral. Didn't look like too much menu diving, a big plus. The sound coming through TH-cam is excellent so that means if you were there it would have been fantastic. The reverb was powerful and lush. There is no doubt there is some serious DSP going on in this synth. However, at $5,500, when considering you can get 2 VERY high quality 88 key keyboards for that price, it is most certainly for a very selective buyer’s audience no doubt. But I‘m impressed.

And as for new features: I see that the Triple Pedal 2 is connected by dedicated DIN input to provide multiple continuous pedals. Is it not possible for Nord to offer TP2 functionality to Stage 3 owners by having them plug into the MIDI in port on the Stage 3? Perhaps the TP2 DIN has a different electrical pinout, in which case I concede my ignorance! But might some of the TP2 "switch" functions, like assigning the left pedals to scene or patch change, be programmed to answer to the original Triple Pedal? And what about .nsmp4 compatibility?
