I remember visiting the kanda zoo as kid. Will definitely visit soon. The tour guide is really knowledgeable! I hope they take him on full time and he gets sponsorship to pursue further studies in this area.

Great video Jasmine! I've always been a little uneasy about zoos, with caged animals etc but I love that they've got a strong conservation programme in place for all those endangered animals in their care! That's a huge plus 👍🏾

Without dating myself, I remember visiting the Accra zoo as a child, back the they had giraffes and elephants too and many other animals. Also there was an area for the preserved remains were and could walk through and look at them. It has been neglected for a long while. Thankfully I think with renewed interest in tourism and technology, the welfare of the animals has improved.

When my daughter was in grade 2 she went to a classmates birthday party and they had "little" animals from the zoo there to show the kids.
When I came to pick her up she had a python on her shoulders😨...I hate snakes.
She isn't afraid of reptiles but she will scream in terror if she sees a tiny spider, lady bug or any insect.
I have to go upstairs to get rid of a tiny bug but you will hold a big snake?. Makes no sense 😕.

We used to walk from my area in Nima to Accra Zoo before they moved the zoo to Achimota
Me too. Used to walk from Nima to Kanda to see the animals, especially on the last day of school each time. We had such a great time back then.

Hi,Jazzy,i was late watching this video,nice work.I also hate snakes,even though i used to play with them when i was a kid at my GRAND MOM`S place.I think the zoo is a little bit small for the animals.They are all ENDANGERED SPICES and should be taken good care of.NO OFFENCE,ANYWAY,I KNOW THEY ARE DOING THEIR BEST,BECAUSE IN ACCRA IT WILLBEVERY HARD TO FIND LAND FOR EXPANSION.You ended the video with a very nice scene,FUFU.CAN`T WAIT TO COME TO GHNANA AND HAVE MY FAVOURITE FOOD.
