Awesome pike ! To be a fish taxidermist is to be an artist. Your buddy is an amazing artist.
Most people do not realize that the colour you see is not the natural fish but the artistic ability of the taxidermist. Paint schedules for fish are very complicated and involve many, many steps. Deer are so much easier to do than fish. Crappie are hard, the scales sluff off easily.

some of the largest fish i have ever caught bit on the tiniest minnow in the minnow pail. awesome fish there.
How much does something like this cost
It’s good but y not get a replica made and let her swim for another person to catch
Why even do a replica? Why would you want something hanging on the wall that's not what you caught?
I have no mounts, but I'd never hang a fake catch on my wall. A framed photo is more real.
Dave knaus so the fish get lay eggs and get bigger and a replica is not bad at all

When I was 4 I caught a 19 pound northern on a tip up and it was to big to set in the sink so we sat it out side for the night and a racoon ate the fins off the night we called to have it mounted and I was mad im still mad to this day
Get a replica mount made if you know the length and possibly the girth
What's the backside look like ? That's the sign of a great mount
I never even looked at that. Never knew people wanted to see the back side of a mount Lol
Why would the side that nobody sees determine if a mount is good? 😄🤣😂 they hang on a wall so nobody can even see behind it unless there is a window behind it and they are standing outside
