    I’m in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and pre emergents are important here, especially if you have neighbors that don’t pay attention to weeds.

      I agree. If I had warm season turf I’d push them hard.

    John your timing is spot on as usual, I was just on the phone with my brother and we were discussing pre-emergents. Him and I watch not only your channel but others like you in the constant battle to achieve greatness in our own turf? We believe that Mother Nature is an adverse opponent!

    I've never used it, maybe I should have years ago, but now I don't feel like I need it that much or at least not anything anymore that requires a blanket full yard apply ....and then when I do get any weeds now, they only come later in the year after they mature in neighbor lawns, and have new seeds drift over; so by that time any early spring pre emergent wouldn't be effective

    My lawn has gotten super thick over the past 2 years and for me, it's a waste to spray the entire 2 acres since no weeds can ever get through the grass. The 5lb of prodiamine I have will probably last the ext 10 years. But I do apply it early spring and late summer to the flower beds, areas under pine trees and along the property lines, and driveway edges to keep down crabgrass and Japanese stilt grass. It's really good stuff but to just use it all over, all the time is a waste. Know your property and your problem areas and treat accordingly.

    Is there any one out there that can keep this lawn stuff easy. I am looking for a process that will get me out there and take care of the lawn. Simple steps. I like organic and don't mind digging up a few weeds, but I do have weeds and they piss me off. I have a life other than lawn dedication and do not judge those that love this work and it shows. From all the information out there, it seems that pre-emergent is good in the spring, but you better get the timing right. I don;t like that option, is there something else. I cut my grass once a week and water if needed. I like Melorganite or something similar to apply on the dates indicated on packaging. I will seed in the fall. Can that be an option. Respectfully.

    Good job, you got your view with your click bait thumbnail. The majority of people who are using preemergents know what weeds they have and why they need it.

    • @Lawncology
      @Lawncology  ปีที่แล้ว

      So you’re saying that I communicated with you enough to peak your curiosity? That’s awesome! And I don’t believe most people know what weeds they have. “Most” people can identify one or two weeds, “some” can identify more.

    • @seapanther53
      @seapanther53 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Lawncology just something to think about; short-term vs. long-term gains. You got a view now bc I thought I needed STOP applying preemergent. What I really learned, however, is that your titles are click bait. So, while I'm still learning from pros, like yourself, I'm more likely to scroll past your videos so as to not waste my limited time seeking the guidance I need.

    • @Lawncology
      @Lawncology  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@seapanther53 excellent. Did you watch and learn? If you did watch, you’d know that I talked about what to consider rather than saying flat out, “it’s time to apply pre emergent everyone!” And if you in fact we’re hoping to not apply pre emergent by watching the vid, you could consider if you need it or not. Further, 6 different ore emergent options were talked through with benefits included. Now, the proper eye catch was all that was needed for truly long term gains. More new viewers are finding the content and that’s the point. I am going to be showing so many ways to save time and get rid of the “have to’s” that plague lawn care content. Further, this video is seeing people stay on for a long time. The retention is massive. This means the message does in fact match the title. I wish I was good at clickbait titles, I’m just not.

    …. I’m a lawn enthusiast that has applied many brands of liquid macro & micro nutrients to my lawn(waste of time & money). Go with a reputable brand like Scott’s or Lesco granular fertilizer and your lawn will be the envy of the neighborhood.

    • @Lawncology
      @Lawncology  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love personal lawn care as it all opinion and rarely based on equality of facts. Fact: if you put the same amount of nutrient out in equal measure whether granular or liquid, you will get the same result.

    • @davidscales1464
      @davidscales1464 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fact: liquid dissipates faster than granular. Irrigation frequency as well as weather conditions play a huge factor in overall results. Definitely be an opinion on equal results

    • @davidscales1464
      @davidscales1464 ปีที่แล้ว

      …. Also liquid applications can be skewed by several variables like water pressure from source , nozzle flow rates

    • @Lawncology
      @Lawncology  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidscales1464 yeah…. I think you’re overthinking it. If that’s your thought process, granular is even more skewed as there’s less uniformity, unclear amounts moving through the spreader, potential clogging, walking speed, and inability to easily weigh your material.
