Tom, I understand your excitement... I bought this back in July of this year, I liked it sooo much I bought a second one as a spare... The Receiver is super sensitive. I live right outside of Trenton NJ and was able to pickup Radio Station WRCR 1700am (100 mile from me) Garnerville, NY, not far from West Point... I also was able to pickup Jersey shore stations 92.7 FM WOBM in Toms River... They come in very clear with my DX-286 sitting in my home, but my car radio can't pick them up... Right now, my time is limited studying this awesome radio more. I'm taking care of a family member who's been sick for a while now... every chance I get I'll turn it on, I love it... Looking forward to your upcoming videos on this radio... Happy New Year Tom.
I got one myself this past summer (after seeing it featured on a desert DX'ing on another channel). Out of the box I picked up a low-power FM station I didn't even know existed. An incredible radio with a bit of learning curve.
Good morning Tom, *Two quick updates:* *1.* If you activate the RDS feature on your DX286, tune to any of your FM stations with a strong signal it will set your Radio time to the atomic clock. *2.* I was able to pickup WWV Fort Collins Colorado atomic clock on 5 and 10 megahertz not superstrong but enough hear it... Only once I heard very faintly on 5 megahertz a women's voice leading me to believe it may have been the Hawaii time station. Have a good weekend... LM
Agree with you, Tom. I have this DX-286 and finally I don't mind if this little gem doesn't have SSB demodulation, I have another capable SSB radios for that. Really a great sensitivity TEF6686 automotive portable chip radio, with an awesome RDS !.. Happy New Year 🎄🎅📻
