Easily the greatest QB of all time with the greatest hall of fame induction speech of all time as well. My hero since I first saw him play in the orange bowl back in 85 when I was 11. Still my hero today.
I was so blessed to be able to attend this ceremony. Dan Marino is and always will be my hero. The best quarterback of all time, and an even better human being. True class, and A TRUE LEGEND. LOVE YOU DAN MARINO!
Dan The Man. I grew up a Chicago Bear fan but will never see a better Quarterback ever.I don't care if he won a ring or not that doesn't define how great he will always be.
You are totally right. As a Dolphins fan I literally cried when he retired. Because like, you just knew you would NEVER have another quarterback even remotely as good as Dan Marino. His on the field greatness, as well as his class and charity as a human being.. the fact that he never got the ring is one of the greatest injustices in the history of sports in my opinion.
Growing up as a kid watching my dad scream at the tv watching the dolphins play in the 90s inspired me to be the dolphin fan I am today. Watching guys like Marino, Thomas, Taylor, surtain, Mcduffie etc, such a good time to grow up as a fan these guys were all timers. It’s a shame Marino never got a ring but I’ll always be endeared to my football fandom thanks to those guys and my dad, miss you dad
Love your comment!!! Coming from a Dolphin fan who hated the Raiders, always a tough team y’all had!!! My first game I ever saw was in 84 against the Raiders- Marino threw for 470, and 4TDs and still lost 45-34.....but it was awesome to watch. Raiders were STACKED!!!
Judging a QB by Super Bowl wins is a fairly recent thing; it only came about when people got very, very, very stupid. Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Jim McMahon, Jeff Hostetler, Bart Starr, Joe Flacco, Jim Plunkett, Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, Nick Foles, etc are all better than Dan Fouts or Dan Marino or Sonny Jurgenson? Please, try to make that argument - I dare you. Or how about when a QB plays like crap in a Super Bowl, but his team still wins, as has happened with players like Ben Roethlesberger and Tom Brady? Dan Marino did something that Joe Montana and Peyton Manning and Tom Brady and even the great Johnny Unitas never did - and which is much harder to do than winning a Super Bowl; he achieved greatness on a terrible football team. As one sportswriter put it, Dan Marino's greatest year was in 1988 when the Dolphins went 6-10. Because, he wrote - no other QB in history could have won six games with a team as bad as the '88 Dolphins.
I call him the Lazer!throwing the ball so low and so fast havent been seen or done for fukn long!5 toot would be the highest thrown above a wide recivers hands that fast before he caught it!
What a great speech by my favorite player of All Time. I've watched this speech a bunch of times and whenever I need to listen to an inspirational speech I watch Dan's HOF inauguration. I can only imagine how proud and emotional you felt that day, especially after listening to your sons introduction. It is true what they say that teams win super bowls but the 🐐 breaks 30 records. You still have the greatest arm in the history of the game and you are still missed after 17 years. Their will never be another #13.
Marino was one of my favorite quarterbacks. I loved his fiery competitiveness. Thankful I grew up watching this ERA , when 🏈 was still awesome, watching the likes of, Marino, Elway,Kelly, Montana, Kosar, Cunningham,Everett, ect.
I just cant let HIM go!!! One of my HEROES (american football perhaps) when i was a child and a teenager, a few TEARS for YOU; MASTER!!! I RESPECT you as have no idea, DAAAAMN!!!
My favorite "THE MAN" is Stan THE MAN Musial - Im a proud hardcore Cardinals fan NOT FAR BEHIND HIM , for me , is DAN THE MAN!!!! I SOOOOOOOO WISH he could have won JUST ONE .... WHAT A JOY TO WATCH HIM THAT 85 BEARS GAME WOOOOOW What an AWESOME speech by his son!! What a speech by DAN
Here's the thing, this is back in the day and age whenever your receiver was about to get blown the hell up on every play. There is no better quarterback and I am the biggest Peyton Manning person and even becoming one of Tom Brady. Well you know what I love them both they're both worth rooting for. Yet, the zing that you seen from Marino's arm. Because of all these rule changes over the years after watching this he probably is the best quarterback. Tom won more than anybody else and has the strongest will bc he's all heart with a chip like Jordan, Peyton one more MVPs than anybody else, but Marino was different. That and besides his dad. Peyton's other favorite quarterback was always Marino. Got to follow my guy. Lol Marino played in an age where receivers were bullied to where there could never be any timing routes. Just spur of the moment graphic football. With being able to have the quickest release and completely natural and anticipary skills that he had. Complete grit and trust in his guy's. You really can tell how much Peyton studied Marino growing up because of his commitment to understanding is wide receivers every moves.
That was an awesome video thank you so much for posting this ...It give me chills watching it... And it put a few tears in my eyes.. I had the pleasure and honor to live in Miami and to witness probably the greatest quarterback that ever lived.
This Man is known to take a Fake knee down and then throw the ball to a receiver for the first down or TD. Quarterbacks these days would never take that chance. Man has heart.
In my 65 years I've seen Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr, Fran Tarkenton, Joe Namath on up. Dan Marino is the best pure passer I ever saw. His dropback, step into the pocket, and let go a rocket was and still is unmatched.
His stats were absurd when contextualizing the time period of when he put them up and the overall style of the game during that time which was centered on the running game rsrher than the pass heavy league we have now. So to play in the era that he played and to have five seasons of 4,000+ yards and a 5,000 yard season is insane. Or having two seasons with thirty touchdowns at a time when by 1994 when he had his second 30 TD season, and his other two 40+ touchdown seasons, since 1943 excluding him a QB only threw for 30+ TDs 25 times in those prior 50 seasons. So I imagine modern day fans may look at his stat line and think it’s not that wild but in context of the times the production he had a the time he had it was simply next level. One has to wonder what his production woiosve been if he got to play in today’s league that’s so focused on passing.
Surprised that Berman was even induccting Dan. His disdain for Miami has always been aparent. "Nobody circling the wagons like the Buffalo Bills." Please....he makes me sick. 0-4, Chris.
At the time (2005) Dan Marino WAS in fact, the greatest of All Time. Him & Montana. But since then, Brady, Manning, Favre, Brees, Big Ben & Rodgers have all passed his stats. Sorry Dan.
I’m glad Dan Marino earn his place in the HOF same with Steve Young. In my opinion, I think Dan Marino and Steve Young are the real GOATs because Dan Marino with the best throwing accuracy, and Steve Young with an outstanding running ability for a great passer QB. I’m glad both of them are in the HOF on the same day
Was that Wingo that said it was Duper and not Clayton? Typical, no matter who said it. ESPN hates the Phins! Bristol, Conn is Pats town. Dan the Man's HOF speech was the shit!
Easily the greatest QB of all time with the greatest hall of fame induction speech of all time as well. My hero since I first saw him play in the orange bowl back in 85 when I was 11. Still my hero today.
Greatest pure passer. The way he can hit receivers on the fly is incredible

Season ticket holder for many years. I was at the Monday Night Game when HE beat the Mighty Bears. I’ll never forget it. Thanks for the memories.
Takes a team to win a ring...takes the goat to shatter 30 records
Love your comment!!! Coming from a Dolphin fan who hated the Raiders, always a tough team y’all had!!! My first game I ever saw was in 84 against the Raiders- Marino threw for 470, and 4TDs and still lost 45-34.....but it was awesome to watch. Raiders were STACKED!!!
True that. There is, and ever will be one Dan Marino!
The best comment I’ve seen on TH-cam in a long time!!!
I love those class of 1983 QB's. No one can touch them. Marino, Elway, Kelly
Amen
Elway and Marino are my two favorite Qbs all time
Marino is the best QB ever, no matter he doesn't got
a ring.
yes Dan Marino was something else
He doesn't need a ring to be the best

Thank you Dan for making every sunday as a 13 year old boy special for me and being apart of the ride. MIAMI BABY !
I'm so glad I got to see him play, even if I was like 11 years old I remember.
Me too! I grew up going to see Marino play. I used to watch him with my binoculars, I was around 7 or 8 my first game. Still my hero.
Greatest arm in the history of the game!
I'll build a team around his talent anyday....even now

Im 42 and a raiders man through and through. But Dan Marino is still my favourite QB ever. What you think about that bitches?! 👌👏
Leper, I think you're a damn genius who sees right through the bullshit about other QB's and who goes right to the very top of the heap!
Love this guy! He's what got me watching the NFL

I tell anyone looking at yesteryear to compare athletes to their peers. It's the most accurate way to judge if the sample size is large enough.
wow his son looks exactly like him unbelievable how he's like a younger clone of his dad :)
Forever my HERO!!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I was there! It was amazing!!
Simply the best Dan the man
The Greatest QB of all time. Fuck the haters. Man ended with 420 TD passes, how are there no Dan Marino weed strains.
🤣🤣🤣
Isostoners 😂
Best ever!
It took the Dolphins a long time to replace Marino. Most of the time they just got dudes and threw them in there to see who would stick.
They'll never replace Marino. IMO
Surprised that Berman was even induccting Dan. His disdain for Miami has always been aparent. "Nobody circling the wagons like the Buffalo Bills." Please....he makes me sick. 0-4, Chris.
That was gold.
fins up #13

Different era and different rules.
Boy this kid can talk.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
That was Clayton not Duper at the end of the speech. lol
+David Grundstein To the anouncer at the end that is.
Come on Trey Wingo, it was Clayton, not Duper that caught the pass at the end there.
Did Marino clone his kid?!
Statistically number 1 in 2005, barely top 10 in 2022
Why does the thumbnail look like Jared Goff??
Listen to his son speak
🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
