      Yeah...contradictory...literally checking the temperature...not everyone has those...I think he just wanted to sound casual in the beginning.

      @@popopopa1719 No lmao? It's not that bad. Put peanut butter on bread, take two slices, put some mochi in between, coat in egg, then deep fry. 1 step that requires cooking. Peanuts are optional, but also easy. Just put some peanuts in oil, start off cold, then bring them up until they're ready, crush/dice/etc. then put some ice cream on, then syrup. No specific measurements or anything required if you know what to look for. Easy peasy. Its like something you'd do as an activity as a kid.

      @@vedpatil2353 Nah, I count calories all the time with the things I cook and can say Japanese milk toast or maybe a pain de mie doesn't really have that many calories (it's really airy inside, maybe 200 per slice the way he cut it). Although now looking at the dish, I would say it is closer to 3000 cals just from the sheer amount of peanuts fried (1/2cup unfried comes up to 500cals), and gotta factor in some of the oil used as well

    Looks glorious. Only edits I'd make are for my nut allergies, replacing the peanuts with pumpkin seeds and the peanut butter with sunflower butter/with pine nuts.

    As a British person living in Japan, I'm going to try this with my Japanese girlfriend. We can get all of those ingredients, including the British Lyle's Golden Syrup and American Skippy! We even live near Chiba, which is famous for peanuts! The ice-cream mochi is also easy to get!
    Btw, try microwaving dorayaki and serving it with vanilla icecream...

      @@michellejones4492 they sell Mochi Ice Cream at Costco in the freezer section. Probably "Bubbies" or "My/Mo" Mochi Ice Cream. Guessing Vanilla or Strawberry is what he's using

    Okay OKAY, so I have for a while now made what I referred to as fluffer-nutter french toast, where I make a pb and marshmallow fluff sandwich and french toast-ify the whole thing. This feels like essentially that but with mochi
