I’m working on trying to find Theme of Laura 2024. But unfortunately I haven’t had any luck, I didn’t hear it play throughout the whole game or after any of the 5 endings I got. But I’m gonna keep trying!
That song is from the og trailer. I'm not sure if there is actually an ending with this song. But there's is a possible dlc for this game. "Born from a Wish" that they could use this song, who knows.

It's been decades later and yet Akira Yamaoka's sound is still instantly recognisable with all those super melodic guitar licks. There's obviously elements of the original track in here to be recognised, but he's still done something completely new with it as well. I remember just sitting on the title screen of the original SH2 just to let the cutscene play with the original version playing on it all the time.

if there's one thing that silent hill can leave resident evil in the dust(like not even a comparison), it would be music and sound design. not trying to downplay RE, it's just I really don't remember any of their soundtracks...

That beginning part already cemented that this is peak Promise.
No PS2 limitations really show, the qaulity is a massive step and the new arrangements give it a fresh feel.
I dont think the original not due to PS2 limitations (it can play redbook audio), but deliberate choice by mr Akira Yamaoka to convey the feeling of hope and desperation at the same time (dang... why im getting philosophical now suddenly ..)
the ps2 dont has a limitation because can play a file record of a song not like the super nintendo o 16bit era when the songs and ost it was done by the machine itself
ps2 limitations that neither ps3 or 4 could take care of when talking about the water and fog effects.

We finally back... Back to Silent Hill. To be honest despite all negativity around the remake i really love new Yamaoka score. It feels really new for the game. He cooked here and nobody can deny that.
the games isn't perfect. the original wasn't either due to some limitation of the ps2. but the remake is the best silenthill anything since 2004.
as a sh fan, and after decades of either nothing or crap, i can gloss over the big heads and mangela's face.
it's a pretty good remake overall.
i just hope he does silent hill music until he retires

Technically, Yamaoka's last SH game was Shattered Memories in 09, so about 15-16 years.
Still, very pleased that they got him and Ito back for this. They're influence is just not something anyone could imitate

Promise is my favorite ost from every video game ever. I love this one as much as the original. Truly a masterpiece for a game that is also one. Best psychological horror game imo.
