Okay so just based on my experience as a daycare worker…she’s coming across completely genuine. Her body position never changes - she gets to the point where she finds him and is sitting exactly the same way as she was at the start. Her illustrators are perfectly in sync with what she’s saying. And everything she says about the kids and their routine - she has zero animosity, zero irritation about their fussiness - she’s very calm. I’ve worked in daycare for years - there are plenty of teachers who are quick to show how irritating they find children. This woman is completely mellow about it. And it’s clearly not an act. She remembers times specifically because daycares work on the same schedule every single solitary day. I could still tell you the routine we had at my daycare twenty years ago. We ate snacks and lunch the same time every day. Story time the same time. Nap the same time. I don’t see a single thing suspicious about her.
I agree, that was my experience as well. In fact I'm a mother myself now, and unfortunately my non verbal autistic son suffered abuse from his teacher at school. It was very clear when his teacher went from enjoying her job to hating it, and certain students. I remember knowing in my gut something was wrong, but because of working in daycares and preschools I remember talking myself out of believing what my gut was saying, I will never forgive myself
I agree! I also worked in 2 daycares while getting my elementary ed degree and we had a routine for everything. I personally think she sounds caring, attentive, and she genuinely cared for the children in her care.

she did confessed to accidentally dropping (she claimed she misjudged where ben's feet were) him and he hit his head against the chair. she provided where the chair was, the table, how the back of his head hit the chair, it went forward, the legs of the chair was half on concrete and half on carpet, the sound his head made when his head hit the chair... she showed how it went down. there were not moments of pausing to consider how it went down. so if this didn't kill the child, the defense has to find a way to explain how the child would have died. as indicated, there doesn't seem to be fracture in the skull from the xray when examined years later. they might have to show perhaps the mis-shapen head is the cause?
What is crazy is the whole reason for the interrogation is based upon a lie!! That Ben’s skull was fractured when it clearly was NOT!! What case do they have then?

@@Seaventh not that it’s an excuse but this was back in 2008/9 bad quality, not wireless etc for example mid 2009 TH-cam finally allowed 720p video but prior to that people could only upload in 480×360p. Not saying there wasn’t better cameras then just weren’t common and very expensive/un reliable. But I agree now they should in today’s time. Especially with all these crazy people running around.
I knew a girl once who asked me to babysit her small 1mo old baby for the evening. When she got the baby back she accidentally dropped it on the floor, it suffered serious head trauma and she literally tried blaming the trauma on me. Thankfully her boyfriend at the time (the baby’s father) was like “hell no, we aren’t going to blame this on someone else” (cause he knew I had small children myself and would have likely lost them to DCF) I’m thankful to this day he was soo truthful about what happened cause I literally could have gone to jail and lost my kids over someone else’s accident and lie.

My mom worked for child protective services when I was young. She worked on a case where a mother put her baby in a clothes dryer and ran it until the baby was gone. My mom came home and just held me, crying for about an hour. She told me the story years later. She was so traumatized by what people could do to their own children.
I've heard stories like this of postpartum moms in major depression and/or psychosis. It was my biggest fear back as a first-time mom! I didn't suffer from either, but I still was so stressed when my husband had to go back to work after 3 months because all I could think about was "what if I 'snap' like one of those women and there's nobody there to save my baby?"
I believe her story. I am more suspicious that something occurred at home. It would be next to impossible to harm this little boy with all the others close by or present without a huge cover-up from every worker. Her story is consistent over and over. The boy had been sick vomiting on Monday at home . Sign of possible head trauma. Frankly I am suspicious of parents.
I agree if tht was the case bc I don't even think there where any fractures I think it was a health issue .. there job is to find somebody guilty nd who tht may be is up to them I guess .. How the hell did the doctor who did the autopsy make such a mistake and say he had a skull fracture. I mean even a non medical person could see if there was a fracture on an xray. That doctor should be held accountable. His mistake ruined someone's life. This poor girl.
There should have also been an autopsy which they would have been able to visibly see the fracture and signs of bleeding in the brain and take pictures.

Before I read ur comment, I made a statement that the baby was sick two days before, and that the adoptive parents could be responsible. People make false confessions, and I don't think she confessed here. But even if she did, I don't believe it. It seems like a few people feel the same way. I read a few after my comment. I am a clinician and am 🤨 at the coroner. I also wonder if there are fractures on that baby’s femur, or if it’s just artifact… the images uploaded aren’t that fabulous.
Back in 1983 I was taking my then 6 month old daughter to the in home day care. Walked up to the door and before knocking, heard the husband screaming bloody murder (a figure of speech) at the children already there. Did not leave her of course, called CPS to report them. My husband and I changed jobs where we had schedules so one of us was always home with my daughter. Never left any of my children with someone else again.
I had an experience where a daycare woman smacked my 10 month old son for wanting to be picked up! Thank god my older daughter told me I confronted the woman reported her and never took my kids to her again! She still runs a daycare! A few years back it was on FB she bit a 2 yo for biting her the mother actually applauded her for it! I was appalled
Good for you! My husband and I are the same way where one of us is always home with them. You never know what someone can/will do and especially behind closed doors.
I picked up my daughter once from an in home daycare and she was on their couch with her face in the pillow sobbing. I asked what happened and she said the babysitters husband screamed at her. I don’t tolerate that at all because I don’t yell at my daughter and neither does my husband. On top of that, I get her home and there is poop in my daughter’s diaper that was obviously hours upon hours old (I’ll spare you the details). I was so upset. I blamed myself for leaving her and I cried so hard that day. I felt like I let her down. I quit my job and became a stay at home mom that day. I didn’t have anyone else look after my daughter until she started kindergarten.
@@beth4991 When I was in high school in the mid-90s, I worked in a daycare after school where this was common practice administered by the male director of all people. I was stunned when I was first told by another adult employee, but as a teen, you don’t really think to question and buck against authority, at least not back then. Thinking of it now horrifies me and I would go absolutely ape s__t if I found out some adult male bit my child for ANY reason. It’s one of the many reasons my husband and I did everything we could to live on a shoestring budget so I could be a SAHM. It terrified me to think my children could be subjected to something like that.
Am I the only one suspicious of the parents? Child home "sick" for 2 days prior to this incident. Brain damage of this extent takes time to devlop and lead to death. Like a timeline of 2-3 days.... I could be off base but its suspicious.
I’ve worked in earlychildhood & afterschool programs for 15+ years, and growing up, my mom ran a licensed & accredited home day care program & the way she references the rules & regulations & the routine for the day makes me feel like she is an attentive teachers assistant. Im only 1/3 of the way through but if she was coerced, this is truly a child care provider/ teachers BIGGEST NIGHTMARE!! The kids in our classrooms become extensions of us. This girl is so young, and working 10hr shifts at this program, it appears that she is good teacher.

Let me leave you with this to think about: in cases where DNA has later exonerated a "guilty" person (a person was charged, convicted and went to prison but DNA tests years later proved they were innocent) about 30% of those people either pled guilty to the crime or falsely confessed.
I dunno if she did it or not, but one thing that struck me during this interrogation is that the cops gave her so many chances to try & put it on "Nancy", and this woman wouldn't lie and do that. To me that says something 🤷🏽♂️
agreed. i couldn't be more sure that she's innocent- she's totally consistent and won't implicate Nancy properly, apart from a little speculation due to the detectives' insistence. these detectives are awful.
I don't think she had anything to do with it,Ben has been sick prior to going back that Wed . maybe it was a health issue nobody knew,I think the Dr who does the autopsy needs to do a little more research. I watch interrogations every night,I feel and this is my opinion that she's innocent. These detectives are pissing me off,over 9 hours her story has not changed. So many innocent people get sent to prison, because of detectives like this. RIP Ben and I send love & prayers to his parents & family. They deserve to know the truth.

This is horrible! As a past daycare worker I’ve seen a lot of abuse sadly and reported few people BUT this is why camera are NEEDED! No one saw anything happen then the coroner ends up being wrong about the fracture !? Her life was ruined and the most immense guilt was put on her. I don’t believe she did anything and usually I’m very much the opposite in these kind of cases
I was in a shitty daycare as a kid back in the early 90s, the lady would make us sleep flat on our stomach, face in the pillow when we napped so we wouldn't make noise and would make all 6 boys pee in the same toilet at the same time to save on her water bill, thats probably why I'm pee shy lol. My sister had to squeeze out of a mesh hole she accidently made in a play pen. That woman had no business caring for kids

These detectives are trying to conjure a crime scene when it seems one does not exist. The child could have been injured at home prior to arrival. With 2 teachers at all times, a crime would be evident. This smells bad and these ladies need to plead the 5th and hire counsel.
@PRSRic have you done any of your own research or do you blindly believe everything detectives say during an interrogation? They lie, often. This woman was badgered until she falsely claimed guilt to make them stop. 10 hours of interrogation will make a lot of people just agree to shut them up.
From what I’ve read, the medical examiner said that he didn’t need to look at an x-ray, because he “felt” the skull fracture with his hands during physical examination. Who knows.
Daycare centers are cancer. Imagine having to pay someone else to raise your kids. I am grateful I grew up in this country while single income households were still the majority
@@boxelderinitiative3897 I went to daycare in the early 80's, and it was wonderful. The REAL problem today is the horrendous cost of daycare... parents have trouble affording adequate and safe care, on top of it being a very in-demand service which limits availability.

That's really sad. A friend of mine lost her son as an infant over 10 years ago and his grave is still probably the most decorated one in the entire graveyard. Why are the parents not even tending to his resting place? That's odd.

Because there are no flowers there does not say a thing about the people that loved the departed...How long has it been since this happened? I dont think i could visit my dead childs grave forever. I don’t agree cause you can tell she was kind of nervous and her words weren’t making a lot of sense. Especially when she was explaining the first time what happened to him. About who came in the room and who was at the door and when they called 911 and did cpr. However I think she was just scared and I do not believe she did anything to this kid. I knew her, went to high school with her we grew up in the same neighborhood. She absolutely did not have a low IQ like she is claiming. There is a video of her physically showing the police how she threw him to the ground because he would not stop whining. All she cared about was going home to see her puppy. Not the fact that this baby died. She is absolutely guilty and deserves to sit in prison.

The title of this video is misleading because it sounds like this woman is actually innocent and, as tou say in the video, the medical examiner was wrong and the child didnt have a skull fracture.
It is disgusting that someone could be prosecuted with evidence of a fracture that didn’t even exist! That is frightening. I personally feel that she seems honest. I also think that the amount of times that the detective has to say how good they are at their jobs… probably means they’re not that good at their job. so the xrays didn't show a skull fracture, she barely has a second alone with any of the children, was within earshot of others when she was alone (kids yell when they get hurt usually so they'd probs have heard it or a thud etc) she got help as soon as she realised there was an issue, and her stories not wavered much (i'm an hour into the vid). how exactly did she get convicted? the way it's sounding to me so far is that this confession may have been coerced and that perhaps something else was the true cause of death. him being out sick for 2 days prior to his passing is waving some flags at me... perhaps not red ones, maybe pink. whatever the cause it's a tragic case, RIP Ben!

She should have insisted on speaking with a lawyer and gotten up and left. They had no right to hold her . She however wasn't aware of het roghts. Innocent people often figure that they are safe and don't need a lawyer. Huge mistake.
The detectives demand truth but lie every opportunity after what they narrator said about the x-rays not having a skull fracture. It has me feel that this may have been an accident. The court should be about justice, not just locking up as many people as possible.but you kno what they say about justice...it's just us 😢
it's good so many people are working to free her with new information and more people being exposed to the case. i hope she gets out too. the truth hasn't been revealed yet and people should've worked for that instead of just wanting to close the case asap.

Use your 5th ammendment to REMAIN silent. ALWAYS! Sheesh people. Best believe that the police will ALWAYS railroad you, regardless. Same with a DUI stop. They will ALWAYS arrest you. The detectives should be charged along with anyone else railroading this woman. I’ve been questioned by detectives and they yelled at me because I wouldn’t agree with them and they continued to yell and call me a liar. My parents demanded the detectives leave our house.
I briefly worked at a daycare with preschoolers and lemme tell you how much these parents mistreat their kids. They flinch when you go reach for something, or they're aggressive themselves..someone who was guilty wouldn't ask so calm. They'd be fighting for their life to seem innocent. But she's calm and she's not covering nothing up. Her story makes sense. There are no gaps. The routine sounds like the routine I had. The kids had a teacher present at all times as they should. Someone needs to look at the parents. The part that got me was. Mom doesn't like when he's sleep up at 5. Like the mom must've been like aye don't let him sleep because then I gotta be a mom at home because he's gonna have energy. But if he's sleeping that much is because he's not provided a good environment at home to get a good night's rest! They teach you this in your training. Unusual sleepiness could be linked to abuse at home. Not always but yea

The way these interrogators were talking to her made me sick to my stomach. Not only did they not let her explain herself when she tried to answer their questions, they were basically demanding she either confess or blame it on someone else. Those were the only two options they gave her. They had decided she was guilty long before they spoke with her at all. What puzzles me now, though, is the supplemental notes intermittently added to the video. “Years later, it would be discovered that the detectives had no medical evidence of a fracture whatsoever and that the x-ray showed the baby had an abnormally formed head“??? Wth? So they’re absolutely gunning for a false confession just to fluff their success rate numbers? I can see why they currently have “such a high success rate”! 😑

Back in the 1990's, my husband and I would drop off and pick up our 2 yr old son from daycare. I went to pick him up and they told me another child bit him. Then A month later they called saying he had a fever. I go to pick him up and they put him on a mat in the corner with no blanket. After those two incidents,We took him out of daycare and my husband worked nights from there on out.
I went back to work part time when my daughter was 1.5, a few months into her being there I got a call that my daughter cut her tounge and needed to come pick her up. I got there and her tounge was severed almost completely in half, hanging on by a tiny flap of skin. I rushed her to the ER, the daycare told me she was pushing a push car and tripped and fell hitting her chin on the concrete. The ER Dr. said no way, she had no marks on her chin and the amount of pressure biting down on her tounge was extremely hard to sever it, she had to have 12 stitches and put under anesthesia for the first time. 😢 I never took her back. The cameras werent "working" the story was a lie. I ran into one of the daycare workers over the weekend at home depot and she said she was working on the weekend (when they are normally closed) and said she had to help lay down bark outside because of what happened to my daughter. She didn't elaborate so I know they were hiding something. All of them.
I'm soo glad that me and my children made it through those early years. Now I've got to worry about them being safe and making good decisions as teenagers and adults. As a parent the worry for your children never stops.

thank God i have :first of all ,my mother wich always when i needed leave somewhere she would stay with my daughters and they are both her life ,she even tell me that she love them more then me (when she is angry on me sometimes😂) ,then i have my mother in law wich live next house to mine and my daughters use to go eevryday at her abd even sleep there sometimes ,then i have my bigger sister in law wich i also asked her many times stay with my girls,so im lucky ,but i also have friends wich have parents faar in other cities or dead parents and no relatives and it was very hard for them raising kids alone as in my country we rarely afford payng a baby sitter ,but for me ,even if i have enough money,i would had never trusted a babysitter !!!ive heard so many cases ughhhgggg😢
Oh please, this is an extreme exception. Statistically , there is nothing that guarantees a child's future success in life more than quality early education. Not only academically but socially.

They are really the only ones we trust fully with our children. It’s scary how many stories you hear where babysitters, teacher, daycare workers are abusing children.

This is a difficult case considering it could of been a head injury from home that worsened throughout the day. Watching content like this, we all know it's more than possible that the parents did something and dropped off the child to make it seem like someone else's fault.
I read somewhere (its been a while ago) where a couple hired a babysitter for their two children..for a night out...the babysitter arrived after the two babies were in bed "asleep"....They never woke up while she was there...when the parents got home, they said they went in to check on them and they were both deceased...Come to find out, one of the parents, I cant remember which one, had smothered both of them before they went out..and used the babysitter as an excuse...they said she "unalived" them...they ran her through the wringer..she was hated, trashed, bullied and so on...until the autopsy report came out and showed that the two babies (toddlers) had been "unalive" for way longer than the babysitter had even been at the home..I cant remember if it was both parents...or one that did the "unaliving"...But how scary is that? The babysitter had no idea what she got herself into...she could have gotten the death penalty...and she had nothing to do with it...she only checked on the two babies on the camera..
another case of guilty until proven innocent.... lawyer is the only word she should have said.... nobody would survive an interrogation like this.... nobody... these girls are sitting ducks whenever something happens... find another job... let parents take care of their own kids... its not worth it

Why is the video labelling the place as a "kindergarten"?! That is blatantly untrue. The origins of "day care", the institutionalization of small children akin to a day-orphanage, was never intended to be more than a one-time emergency care of children due to family issues, etc. The same as having a known member, or friend, of the family watching a child on a one time basis. There is a research video on UTube explaining the origins of daycare. For the past few generations, we are seeing the consequences in society - not only of the damaged child, but the rest of society bears the dangerous results.
This is exactly why my kids have always been home with me when they aren’t in school and why I’m in school from home and will be teaching yoga from home as well.. Stuff like this made me never want to leave my kids with people I don’t know well.. it’s bad enough my kids go to public school.. much love & light to everyone here! ❤
I have a coworker that had a mother like you, and you have no idea how much youre hurting your child. This girl has the functionablity of a 6 year old. No critical thinking. We have had her over a year, and she's barely at the stage where most people hit after a few months of working with us. Its so sad. We dont know how to help her, she doesnt know how to get better. I agree! My youngest has special needs and couldn't go to private school like his brothers. It's the little ones and the vulnerable, that cannot tell about mistreatment. Even at 10 years old, my son doesn't understand. That's why, I have a healthy suspicion of every single person that speaks to and touches him.
That is wonderful. Moms started leaving their kids in day care 50 or 60 years ago and now we have a population of adults who have many many problems. You can never over love and take care of your kids. God bless.
Sometimes it takes time for a child to show symptoms of cranial injury. It can take hours or days for the brain to swell and cause symptoms. So it's really difficult to know if this was caused at home or at the daycare.
I am so sick of seeing police get tunnel vision on a case allowing the actual killer to go free and putting an innocent person in jail!! These detectives are absolutely incompetent at their jobs! As a certified armchair psychologist from the TH-cam School of Criminal Justice who's viewed countless interrogations- she comes across as being truthful to me. That is, until she is worn down by the detectives mind game tactics to coerce a confession after 6hrs and 79 denials.

I vehemently disagree that detectives should be allowed to get confessions under distress (whether that’s sleep deprivation, isolation, threats, scare tactics, etc.) The risk of pinning a crime on an innocent person isn’t worth the guilty people they catch. Do your job better, maybe? Get more evidence. Don’t just exhaust people into confessing.
Well it's clear that the medical examiners dropped the ball here. To say his skull was fractured when in reality it wasn't and he had an odd shaped head is a huge mistake to make.there are plenty people in jail because of mistakes like this. Just because a so called expert says something doesn't mean it's right or true. People end up losing their whole lives over these medical mistakes.
I do see the signs of coercion here. There are also several facts of the case that cause some alarm. I don't know if she did it, but stories like these make me so grateful I had so many trusted people to help when my kid was daycare aged. I couldn't imagine trusting my baby to people I don't know fully and intimately... it's got to be so heartbreaking to carry the guilt of trusting someone who didn't deserve it. I hope this baby's family has found peace and healing after this tragedy.
There is definitely reasonable doubt. First she is saying that she didn’t do it and all of a sudden after many hours in a room she confessed. Then the medical examiner says there was a fracture and now we found out there was no fracture. These detective a scumbags.
It's stories like this that I would hear years ago and the fact that I just loved being at home with my 3 children, that I quit my good paying job with the State of Ca.and opened a State License Home Child Care Business. I began when my first child turned one year old. I watched a lot of children who were the children or grandchildren of the teachers, and principal from an very good GATE school down the road.I had a long waiting list and I did childcare for 11 years. I started out watching 2 infants and the rest toddlers. Some after school kids in the Summer. My house was the perfect set up for childcare the way that my house was laid out. We ended up moving up to the Redwoods here in Californa where I opened the first coffee house/bakery in the county upon the cheering on of my day care parents who I'd make white chocolate mochas for with my espresso machine as they would drop off their kids. It was a win win. I. do miss those kids and the fun things we did while my kids were able to have kids to play with while being home with mom. :-) and dad too when he'd come home from work.

This is why my job was to bring my beautiful babies up and started working again when they went to school (I also got private cleaning job’s that I could bring my babies with me) for extra cash ! They are teenagers now and I still do not trust anyone that I’ve not met and do not know! My kid’s may say I’m embarrassing but I don’t care - my job is to keep them safe they only have sleepovers with people I’ve known since starting school !!! Okay so just based on my experience as a daycare worker…she’s coming across completely genuine. Her body position never changes - she gets to the point where she finds him and is sitting exactly the same way as she was at the start. Her illustrators are perfectly in sync with what she’s saying. And everything she says about the kids and their routine - she has zero animosity, zero irritation about their fussiness - she’s very calm. I’ve worked in daycare for years - there are plenty of teachers who are quick to show how irritating they find children. This woman is completely mellow about it. And it’s clearly not an act. She remembers times specifically because daycares work on the same schedule every single solitary day. I could still tell you the routine we had at my daycare twenty years ago. We ate snacks and lunch the same time every day. Story time the same time. Nap the same time. I don’t see a single thing suspicious about her.
I agree, that was my experience as well. In fact I'm a mother myself now, and unfortunately my non verbal autistic son suffered abuse from his teacher at school. It was very clear when his teacher went from enjoying her job to hating it, and certain students. I remember knowing in my gut something was wrong, but because of working in daycares and preschools I remember talking myself out of believing what my gut was saying, I will never forgive myself

she did confessed to accidentally dropping (she claimed she misjudged where ben's feet were) him and he hit his head against the chair. she provided where the chair was, the table, how the back of his head hit the chair, it went forward, the legs of the chair was half on concrete and half on carpet, the sound his head made when his head hit the chair... she showed how it went down. there were not moments of pausing to consider how it went down. so if this didn't kill the child, the defense has to find a way to explain how the child would have died. as indicated, there doesn't seem to be fracture in the skull from the xray when examined years later. they might have to show perhaps the mis-shapen head is the cause?
What is crazy is the whole reason for the interrogation is based upon a lie!! That Ben’s skull was fractured when it clearly was NOT!! What case do they have then?

@@Seaventh not that it’s an excuse but this was back in 2008/9 bad quality, not wireless etc for example mid 2009 TH-cam finally allowed 720p video but prior to that people could only upload in 480×360p. Not saying there wasn’t better cameras then just weren’t common and very expensive/un reliable. But I agree now they should in today’s time. Especially with all these crazy people running around.

I knew a girl once who asked me to babysit her small 1mo old baby for the evening. When she got the baby back she accidentally dropped it on the floor, it suffered serious head trauma and she literally tried blaming the trauma on me. Thankfully her boyfriend at the time (the baby’s father) was like “hell no, we aren’t going to blame this on someone else” (cause he knew I had small children myself and would have likely lost them to DCF)
I’m thankful to this day he was soo truthful about what happened cause I literally could have gone to jail and lost my kids over someone else’s accident and lie.

My mom worked for child protective services when I was young. She worked on a case where a mother put her baby in a clothes dryer and ran it until the baby was gone. My mom came home and just held me, crying for about an hour. She told me the story years later. She was so traumatized by what people could do to their own children.

It's really sad how many time social services gets involved, does nothing, and kids end up dead or seriously injured.
I've heard stories like this of postpartum moms in major depression and/or psychosis. It was my biggest fear back as a first-time mom! I didn't suffer from either, but I still was so stressed when my husband had to go back to work after 3 months because all I could think about was "what if I 'snap' like one of those women and there's nobody there to save my baby?"
I believe her story. I am more suspicious that something occurred at home.

How the hell did the doctor who did the autopsy make such a mistake and say he had a skull fracture. I mean even a non medical person could see if there was a fracture on an xray. That doctor should be held accountable. His mistake ruined someone's life. This poor girl.
There should have also been an autopsy which they would have been able to visibly see the fracture and signs of bleeding in the brain and take pictures.

Back in 1983 I was taking my then 6 month old daughter to the in home day care.
Walked up to the door and before knocking, heard the husband screaming bloody murder (a figure of speech) at the children already there.
Did not leave her of course, called CPS to report them.
My husband and I changed jobs where we had schedules so one of us was always home with my daughter.
Never left any of my children with someone else again.

Thank god my older daughter told me I confronted the woman reported her and never took my kids to her again! She still runs a daycare! A few years back it was on FB she bit a 2 yo for biting her the mother actually applauded her for it! I was appalled

I picked up my daughter once from an in home daycare and she was on their couch with her face in the pillow sobbing. I asked what happened and she said the babysitters husband screamed at her. I don’t tolerate that at all because I don’t yell at my daughter and neither does my husband. On top of that, I get her home and there is poop in my daughter’s diaper that was obviously hours upon hours old (I’ll spare you the details). I was so upset. I blamed myself for leaving her and I cried so hard that day. I felt like I let her down. I quit my job and became a stay at home mom that day. I didn’t have anyone else look after my daughter until she started kindergarten.

I was stunned when I was first told by another adult employee, but as a teen, you don’t really think to question and buck against authority, at least not back then. Thinking of it now horrifies me and I would go absolutely ape s__t if I found out some adult male bit my child for ANY reason. It’s one of the many reasons my husband and I did everything we could to live on a shoestring budget so I could be a SAHM. It terrified me to think my children could be subjected to something like that.

Let me leave you with this to think about: in cases where DNA has later exonerated a "guilty" person (a person was charged, convicted and went to prison but DNA tests years later proved they were innocent) about 30% of those people either pled guilty to the crime or falsely confessed.

These detectives are trying to conjure a crime scene when it seems one does not exist. The child could have been injured at home prior to arrival. With 2 teachers at all times, a crime would be evident. This smells bad and these ladies need to plead the 5th and hire counsel.

I knew her, went to high school with her we grew up in the same neighborhood. She absolutely did not have a low IQ like she is claiming. There is a video of her physically showing the police how she threw him to the ground because he would not stop whining. All she cared about was going home to see her puppy. so the xrays didn't show a skull fracture, she barely has a second alone with any of the children, was within earshot of others when she was alone (kids yell when they get hurt usually so they'd probs have heard it or a thud etc) she got help as soon as she realised there was an issue, and her stories not wavered much (i'm an hour into the vid). how exactly did she get convicted? the way it's sounding to me so far is that this confession may have been coerced and that perhaps something else was the true cause of death. him being out sick for 2 days prior to his passing is waving some flags at me... perhaps not red ones, maybe pink. whatever the cause it's a tragic case, RIP Ben!

The detectives should be charged along with anyone else railroading this woman. I’ve been questioned by detectives and they yelled at me because I wouldn’t agree with them and they continued to yell and call me a liar. My parents demanded the detectives leave our house.
I briefly worked at a daycare with preschoolers and lemme tell you how much these parents mistreat their kids. They flinch when you go reach for something, or they're aggressive themselves..someone who was guilty wouldn't ask so calm. They'd be fighting for their life to seem innocent. But she's calm and she's not covering nothing up. Her story makes sense. There are no gaps. The routine sounds like the routine I had. The kids had a teacher present at all times as they should. Someone needs to look at the parents. The part that got me was. Mom doesn't like when he's sleep up at 5. Like the mom must've been like aye don't let him sleep because then I gotta be a mom at home because he's gonna have energy. But if he's sleeping that much is because he's not provided a good environment at home to get a good night's rest! They teach you this in your training. Unusual sleepiness could be linked to abuse at home. Not always but yea

The way these interrogators were talking to her made me sick to my stomach. Not only did they not let her explain herself when she tried to answer their questions, they were basically demanding she either confess or blame it on someone else. Those were the only two options they gave her. They had decided she was guilty long before they spoke with her at all.
What puzzles me now, though, is the supplemental notes intermittently added to the video. “Years later, it would be discovered that the detectives had no medical evidence of a fracture whatsoever and that the x-ray showed the baby had an abnormally formed head“??? this case definitely had vibes of interrogator coercion. Even if she did do it, 6 hours in an interrogation room with no end in sight breaks them down mentally. There has to be a limit there

Back in the 1990's, my husband and I would drop off and pick up our 2 yr old son from daycare. I went to pick him up and they told me another child bit him. Then A month later they called saying he had a fever. I go to pick him up and they put him on a mat in the corner with no blanket. After those two incidents,We took him out of daycare and my husband worked nights from there on out.
I went back to work part time when my daughter was 1.5, a few months into her being there I got a call that my daughter cut her tounge and needed to come pick her up. I got there and her tounge was severed almost completely in half, hanging on by a tiny flap of skin. I rushed her to the ER, the daycare told me she was pushing a push car and tripped and fell hitting her chin on the concrete.
The ER Dr. said no way, she had no marks on her chin and the amount of pressure biting down on her tounge was extremely hard to sever it, she had to have 12 stitches and put under anesthesia for the first time. 😢
I never took her back. The cameras werent "working" the story was a lie.
I ran into one of the daycare workers over the weekend at home depot and she said she was working on the weekend (when they are normally closed) and said she had to help lay down bark outside because of what happened to my daughter. She didn't elaborate so I know they were hiding something. All of them.
I'm soo glad that me and my children made it through those early years. Now I've got to worry about them being safe and making good decisions as teenagers and adults. As a parent the worry for your children never stops.

thank God i have :first of all ,my mother wich always when i needed leave somewhere she would stay with my daughters and they are both her life ,she even tell me that she love them more then me (when she is angry on me sometimes😂) ,then i have my mother in law wich live next house to mine and my daughters use to go eevryday at her abd even sleep there sometimes ,then i have my bigger sister in law wich i also asked her many times stay with my girls,so im lucky ,but i also have friends wich have parents faar in other cities or dead parents and no relatives and it was very hard for them raising kids alone as in my country we rarely afford payng a baby sitter ,but for me ,even if i have enough money,i would had never trusted a babysitter !!!ive heard so many cases ughhhgggg😢
Oh please, this is an extreme exception. Statistically , there is nothing that guarantees a child's future success in life more than quality early education. Not only academically but socially.

Have you seen how much kids are being sexually assaulted in schools by their teachers? Not to mention being hurt/killed by people we are suppose to trust. This is a difficult case considering it could of been a head injury from home that worsened throughout the day. Watching content like this, we all know it's more than possible that the parents did something and dropped off the child to make it seem like someone else's fault.

I read somewhere (its been a while ago) where a couple hired a babysitter for their two children..for a night out...the babysitter arrived after the two babies were in bed "asleep"....They never woke up while she was there...when the parents got home, they said they went in to check on them and they were both deceased...Come to find out, one of the parents, I cant remember which one, had smothered both of them before they went out..and used the babysitter as an excuse...they said she "unalived" them...they ran her through the wringer..she was hated, trashed, bullied and so on...until the autopsy report came out and showed that the two babies (toddlers) had been "unalive" for way longer than the babysitter had even been at the home..I cant remember if it was both parents...or one that did the "unaliving"...But how scary is that? The babysitter had no idea what she got herself into...she could have gotten the death penalty...and she had nothing to do with it...she only checked on the two babies on the camera..
another case of guilty until proven innocent.... lawyer is the only word she should have said....

Why is the video labelling the place as a "kindergarten"?! That is blatantly untrue. The origins of "day care", the institutionalization of small children akin to a day-orphanage, was never intended to be more than a one-time emergency care of children due to family issues, etc. The same as having a known member, or friend, of the family watching a child on a one time basis. There is a research video on UTube explaining the origins of daycare. For the past few generations, we are seeing the consequences in society - not only of the damaged child, but the rest of society bears the dangerous results.
It's when women were forced to work full-time in the name of equality. No more time to raise the kids.

I have a coworker that had a mother like you, and you have no idea how much youre hurting your child. This girl has the functionablity of a 6 year old. No critical thinking. We have had her over a year, and she's barely at the stage where most people hit after a few months of working with us. Its so sad. We dont know how to help her, she doesnt know how to get better. She was so sheltered from the world, that she didnt even know how to talk to people. Youre not a good parent.
I agree! My youngest has special needs and couldn't go to private school like his brothers. It's the little ones and the vulnerable, that cannot tell about mistreatment. Even at 10 years old, my son doesn't understand. That's why, I have a healthy suspicion of every single person that speaks to and touches him.

That is wonderful. Moms started leaving their kids in day care 50 or 60 years ago and now we have a population of adults who have many many problems. You can never over love and take care of your kids. God bless.
This baby had a head injury before this day. The child was home sick and vommiting days prior which is a sign of head trama.
Sometimes it takes time for a child to show symptoms of cranial injury. It can take hours or days for the brain to swell and cause symptoms. So it's really difficult to know if this was caused at home or at the daycare.
I am so sick of seeing police get tunnel vision on a case allowing the actual killer to go free and putting an innocent person in jail!! These detectives are absolutely incompetent at their jobs! I am certain this young woman had nothing to do with what happened to Ben and these detectives should be fired!!! Rest in peace Ben, I am so sorry that we the human race failed you!!

I vehemently disagree that detectives should be allowed to get confessions under distress (whether that’s sleep deprivation, isolation, threats, scare tactics, etc.) The risk of pinning a crime on an innocent person isn’t worth the guilty people they catch. Do your job better, maybe? Get more evidence. Don’t just exhaust people into confessing.
Well it's clear that the medical examiners dropped the ball here. To say his skull was fractured when in reality it wasn't and he had an odd shaped head is a huge mistake to make.there are plenty people in jail because of mistakes like this. Just because a so called expert says something doesn't mean it's right or true. People end up losing their whole lives over these medical mistakes.
And THIS is how you get an innocent person to confess.

I do see the signs of coercion here. There are also several facts of the case that cause some alarm. I don't know if she did it, but stories like these make me so grateful I had so many trusted people to help when my kid was daycare aged. I couldn't imagine trusting my baby to people I don't know fully and intimately... it's got to be so heartbreaking to carry the guilt of trusting someone who didn't deserve it. I hope this baby's family has found peace and healing after this tragedy.

There is definitely reasonable doubt. First she is saying that she didn’t do it and all of a sudden after many hours in a room she confessed. Then the medical examiner says there was a fracture and now we found out there was no fracture. These detective a scumbags.

It's stories like this that I would hear years ago and the fact that I just loved being at home with my 3 children, that I quit my good paying job with the State of Ca.and opened a State License Home Child Care Business. I began when my first child turned one year old. I watched a lot of children who were the children or grandchildren of the teachers, and principal from an very good GATE school down the road.I had a long waiting list and I did childcare for 11 years. I started out watching 2 infants and the rest toddlers. Some after school kids in the Summer. My house was the perfect set up for childcare the way that my house was laid out. We ended up moving up to the Redwoods here in Californa where I opened the first coffee house/bakery in the county upon the cheering on of my day care parents who I'd make white chocolate mochas for with my espresso machine as they would drop off their kids. It was a win win. I. do miss those kids and the fun things we did while my kids were able to have kids to play with while being home with mom. :-) and dad too when he'd come home from work.
IF THIS CHILD WAS FEELING POORLY, HAD MONDAY OFF THAN CAME BACK ON TUESDAY AN DIED ON WEDNESDAY, COULD THIS INCIDENT HAPPEN ON A SUNDAY AT HOME WITH THE PARENTS. THAN OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS OF HIS LIFE THEY SENT HIM TO DAY CARE, PUT THE BLAME ON HER. JUST A THOUGHT.

babysitter ?! Have some respect. It's the hardest job ...and the lowest pay. She's in Early Childhood Education / Development. Y'know ..the first ppl you entrust your little ones to in the very beginning of their lives .
This is why my job was to bring my beautiful babies up and started working again when they went to school (I also got private cleaning job’s that I could bring my babies with me) for extra cash ! They are teenagers now and I still do not trust anyone that I’ve not met and do not know! My kid’s may say I’m embarrassing but I don’t care - my job is to keep them safe they only have sleepovers with people I’ve known since starting school !!! Keep your babies close because you will be the only one’s that can keep them safe!!❤️
