a. identify the version of software you gonna use :for example simatic manager v 5.3 or v5.4 or v5.5 or v5.6
b. you must know software requirement & supported operating systems:
for example : Simatic manager s7 version v5.5 : must be installed on windows 2007

First, u ask the people in auto system, when the system established?, OK for ex, they said 2010, so search Google which last version of Windows released at 2010, so which version of Tia/simatic is compitable with this version of Windows,
Ex, tia 13 is compitable with windows 7, which released @ 2009
