    I really like that Addax 18, its just complete for edc. I just did the preorder for the Recycled Firefighter 24+ and also got their hook and loop sheet and organizers, similar to the organizers you show here. I'm looking forward to trying it out and seeing how it works.

    Great review. The 18 has all the features I like, but I wish it was a clamshell opening.

    First off, great review as always.. I really enjoy your channel and the reviews are really informative. For the Addax, I agree it has some industry-leading features but there are a few problems worth noting - 1st. The lower front pocket is pretty much inaccessible when the top pocket is filled. I have travelled with this bag and as yet haven't found a solution, where the pocket is usable mid-travel. Fine once you arrive and unpack but otherwise it's redundant. No 2. Internal bottle carrier - madness where you're putting a cold liquid in a warm space - the bottle cools and sweats and then you have water everywhere. A nightmare!! I get the sleek lines and business profile but an outside carrier would be so much more useful. No 3 - shoulder straps - I just don't find the material used as being comfortable and the shape of the straps as functional as they need to be to carry a load - I get it, I'm not loading out a hog but still, various electronics, a laptop, notes and a drink bottle weigh a bit and the straps just fall short for me and lastly No 4. Back panel - this is a deal-breaker for me and I bought this bag in Europe and I really paid a lot for it and this back panel makes me regret ever buying it. It makes you sweat...simple as that.. It is a heat trap like no other and given that there are not formed ridges or pockets where air could move around, it congregates and you end up a wet mess. I took this bag as an EDC around France this summer - carried for 15 - 30 min periods, walking around or on public transport and this back-panel failed miserably. I mean I get it, there isn't a perfect bag when it comes to carrying and heat dissipation but this bag sucks at it... And it kills me because the bag has so much potential. Bottom line, if you need a backpack briefcase, this is ideal. If you need to double-up functionality as an office/EDC backpack, you need to look elsewhere...

      Really appreciate your detailed notes on your personal experience with this bag! I agree that your choice of water bottle here is a big deal. Needs to have a tight lid and also be double walled to prevent sweating. I didn’t have as much of an issue with the straps, but I do agree the back panel is not one of the best in the industry. Hope everyone who watches the video also reads your personal thoughts too.

    I just got the Carbide 8 last week, I'm super happy with it! Two things I love, high vis interior, admin panel is great. Two things could be better, I want molle straps on the exterior sides and a hook and loop field for my patches on the exterior. Overall, a great bag.

    What would be your recommendation between the Addax 25 and the new Black Ember Citadel R3 25L? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks for all the effort you put in with all the reviews!

    • @ThePerfectBag
      @ThePerfectBag  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching! I haven’t had hands on with the Citadel yet! Based on my previous experience with Black Ember Bags (I’ve owned two) - I would expect that the Addax will feel bigger, be slightly more comfy, and have better organization (my opinion) BUT the Black Ember will look nicer and more professional, be better built, and stand up to more abuse.

    Awesome review and comparison man! I've had the Addax 25 for a while now in MCB and absolutely love it! Only downside is, I hang it with a heroclip and the bag tends to fold inwards because of the long carry handle, does the smaller one do that? Also where did you get that MCB handle cover on your 25? Really dig that! 🔥

    • @ThePerfectBag
      @ThePerfectBag  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      THanks!!! The handle grip is from Greenroom136. the 18 doesn't fold as much as the 25, but it still is weak in the middle - and top heavy with admin section filled.

    Thoughts between the addax 18 and the aer city pack? I’m kinda torn. I will say the shine of the black addax makes me nervous but I do wish I could get the hi vis interior on the cordura aer city pack

      @@ThePerfectBag thanks for the super fast feedback. Your reviews have really helped narrow this down. So you would go Aer city pack c-pac over one of the addax packs? Obviously everyone uses their bags differently. Mostly looking for building quality and your thoughts.

    • @ThePerfectBag
      @ThePerfectBag  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I personally like the addax - but the 18 is too small for me. If I had to pick any bag between the addax and city pack lineup I’d grab an addax 25. It’s one of my favorite bags.

      It totally depends on how you load it out. This bag can sometimes get top heavy with the admin section built the way it is. If you load heavy things in the bottom front pocket - no issue
