I've lived in NYC for over a decade, and been to many Yankees games, and I didn't know a lot of this stuff! This is amazing, thank you so much! I had no idea that there was still a piece of the original Yankee Stadium across the street, or that you could even do a tour of the stadium. Will for sure bring friends next time they're in town.
I recently took my grandson to New York specifically for a Yankees game. We had a private tour, which was awesome. Was able to hold Aaron judges bat, Babe Ruth’s bat and Derek Jeter’s jersey. Indulged in the judge burger, bought hats etc. Needless to say it was one of the best days ever and being able to share it with my grandson was amazing.
Cant even count the amount of games I've been too in my lifetime.(old and new yankee stadium) . I'm 52 years of age,and I still get a very special vibe ,everything I go to a game. God bless the yankees, the bronx, and all of new york.2024..let's bring another championship home.
This was awesome! I'm British and a huge Yankee fan. We've been to games before and done the stadium tour, but I learnt loads of new stuff for our next visit in August. Thanks
Back in the nineties, I brought my step son and a bunch of family and friends in a tour of the original Yankee Stadium. And I have to say that Tony Morante, who used to run the Stadium tours, was really cool when he learned it was for his birthday. He let us actually have the cake inside the stadium and went out of his way for us. He definitely slightly bent the rules, and he and his friends will never forget that day. Thank you Mr. Morante.
I make a 4 hour drive every year from PA to watch some games. Was just there for the Padres series on that beautiful Sunday afternoon game. There's alot I love about being at the stadium... but I've never gotten to watch batting practice. My favorite seats are first row in 103, 104 or 105.... there's nothing else better than being at Yankee Stadium
I've just booked my trip to NY for next spring. Time to put all this youtube watching to good use. The elevated acre, Chelsea art, the neighbourhoods of dumbo, midtown and states island (I want to see why it's mocked ceaselessly). Mostly though I hope I see Mr Barr so I can thank him. Quality content that definitely doesn't get watched whilst I'm supposed to be working.
Other places to add to your list: the Cloisters in Washington Heights (located in the amazing Fort Tryon Park), Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Prospect Park and Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn. Have fun!
Just went to NYC for the first time last week! Yankees game being the last day! Man if you had posted this days earlier I would’ve done all of that lol I have an excuse to go again now! You made us such a banging itinerary, CAN’T thank you enough for your vids. Keep up the awesome work John! Cheers!
Wow this is a must go with my kids, I'm sure they would love watching a live baseball game. That museum tour looks so cool too its definitely worth the price
As a sports fan I like visiting different sports arenas and stadiums and games around the world. I think it would be interesting if you make a video about what New York can offer in this regard, like games and arena visits/tours of the soccer, basketball, baseball, hockey, american football etc. teams in the city.
Here is an actual hot tip, and feel free to correct me if this is out of date, but last time I was there you can bring your own food and non-alcoholic drink to Yankee games so long as the liquids are sealed (and if you want to be creative, there are ways to exploit this wink wink). highly recommend stopping at a deli and picking up everything you need before getting to the stadium
Yep - buying a sealed water bottle or three bought outside is still less than a $5 water bottle inside. Bringing in food can definitely save some money and great for families - I'll be doing that myself soon.
I was in NYC couple weeks ago and I missed Yankees home game but I didn’t want miss a baseball experience so I attended on Mets and I have to say that it was one of the best experience in NYC. I understand that these teams are rivals but anyway, it was amazing.
Of course this comes out a month after I visit Yankee Stadium. I did the best I could as a one game visitor. Gate 8 and beelined it to Monument Park. Then got the 99 Burger before my seats in the 400s. The most underrated part was the Yankees winning and fans singing the Frank Sinatra song. Nice to see we all ate it up and I sang along with them. Far from a Yankees fan but it was fun
Haha I was gifted free tickets for the bleachers one time and I was not expecting it to be that rowdy over there! It was all in good fun though! You can usually sneak your way into an actual chair after the first couple innings if you wanted! Pro tip: you can NEVER sneak into the 100 level. They check tickets every time you enter those sections, however, the 200 level is generally easier to get into. If you sneak into a new spot, and someone shows up with their tickets to that spot, just kindly move down. If staff approach and ask for your tickets, kindly explain that you moved from your actual ticketed location. If you are kind, sometimes they will let you stay. If they ask you to leave, don't argue or give them attitude. Apologize, get up and go back to your spot.
Jon, you knocked it outbid the park again. An excellent video on the Yankees Stadium. Reminds me of the private tour we had about 5 years ago. Really enjoyed it. The Yankees really are a classy franchise and iconic to New York. Baseball is not my favourite US sport but I do appreciate how people love it so much. It’s definitely worth a visit to a game I feel and the Yankees stadium is superb. We need more of the sports style bodies in future. New York is a sports mad city after all. You have sports background to. Hope to see a few more in the future. With a bit of food thrown on to. The burgers and milkshakes look pretty good. Excellent video again.
Went to Yankee stadium in 2019, thing was it was for the hudson Derby of NYCFC vs NYRB, but I can say I've sat in Yankee stadium and being able to drink a beer in the stand was an experience.
This was a pretty cool video. It can be overwhelming to visit Yankee Stadium, nice to see what to expect. Plus, I think I would spring for the deluxe tour.
Excellent video! Thanks Barr! Love Yankee stadium. We did the stadium tour in sept 22 as part of our honeymoon to new York 😂😅 just as judge had equalled 61 home runs but sadly didn't attend a game as Yankees were away from home lol but stadium tour was great and loved monument park. Will be back very soon and this time I'll book our trip to time in with being able to attend a game or two 😂. Thanks for the video it's nice to see again. 🏴🤝🏻🇺🇲
I love going to Yankees games. I've never done those hands-on tour. I think I gotta do it now. Also, that chicken bucket is so worth it. I haven't had the burger or the steak sandwish/fries. Is is worth it. Go Yankees.
I had to visit Yankee Stadium on my first trip to New York back in 2013. It was the coldest day I can ever remember but it was amazing to see a classic New York team and explore their history. I can’t remember the tour guides name but he was the best.⚾️🗽
I like going upper deck behind home plate for the best value, bleachers for a lively atmosphere, and second deck in between the bases and foul powl for a nice mix. i never go first deck because it's just so much money and I personally like an elevated view of the game
I plan on going to my first ever MLB game at Yankee stadium Ince I live about 45 minutes from it, so this is actually really cool insight. Thanks for this in-depth look!
I 've been Yankee fan since 1976 when I was only 7 years old. I went to original Yankee stadium in the last season (2008) then I went in 2009 to enjoy the new stadium. That experiences was fantastic. It was my Disneyland of Baseball. By the way, I 'm from México city. Cheers to every Yankee fan.
Hi Jon, I visited NYC for the first time in November 2022, fell in love and went back again solo in July 2023. I had watched heaps of your videos which were super helpful! Anyway, I went to a Yankees game whilst I was there and spoke to Brian Richards. I told him I was from Australia and I had watched this video and recognised him. Needless to say he was blown away that a 53 year old woman travelling solo from Australia where baseball isn't a thing lol, recognised him from your video. Just wanted to let you know that your videos do indeed make a difference. Ok must be time to book another NYC trip. Take care from this New York loving Aussie.
Not a fan of the Yankees but I was at the park for old-timers day a few years ago and everything was first class. Since the Yankees have so much connection to the entirety of baseball history you will be blown away by everything offered and on display. I wish most teams would be as respectful to their own histories.
Great video very helpful for people who've never been to Yankee Stadium it's so iconic! Not quite as iconic as the old stadium but still a very special place in my heart! You can tell I'm a die hard Yankees fan lol and yes I've been there many times! Are you gonna one of Citi Field as well?
I haven't been to the clubhouse/locker rooms in the new stadium. But I had my son's birthday in the old Stadium clubhouse. Tony Morante, who used to run the things over at the old stadium, was really amazing and went above and beyond to help me out and make that happen. He is a truly solid guy.
Pro tip. EAT BEFORE THE GAME. I saw a game that Justin Verlander pitched against the Yankees. I missed ATLEAST two full innings standing in line for food. Always eat before the game so you can enjoy it.

I grew up in the bronx on East Tremont ave also lived off 233rd St and Whiteplains Rd my best friend lived down the street 10 minute walk to Yankee Stadium off of 153rd st and Gerard ave in the early 70s on the 161st and Grand Concourse train station you could look down on the field and see some parts of the game being played on the train platform but in 1977 they built a wall to stop it because it became distraction i grew up watching Mr. October Reggie Jackson Dave Windfield Reggie and Billie Martin the manager of the yankees at the time use to get in big public spats it was funny to us yankees fans Yankee fan for life go Yankees bring that 28th CHIP.
Any first timers, get any food and everything else you want done before first pitch or you’re gonna be on line and miss some game with the games goin by quicker

I’ll be checking out a Yankees game for the first time next week. Really looking forward for this experience. This will be my 10th MLB ballpark I’ve visited.

I've been to two games this season at Yankee Stadium. Parked at the Rupert Plaza Garage right across the street. Parking was NOT $40, it was $47 both times.
good video, but you forgot about the bar scene around yankee stadium, billys with the rooftop and stans, you gotta go to those bars before the game, great atmosphere for fans
This was an awesome video, & totally feels like the natural start of a spectacular sporting events series. Mets, Giants, Jets, Rangers, Islanders, Stars, Red Bulls, NYCFC, The US Open at Flushing Queens (Tennis), & maybe even the Belmont Stakes or a US Open Golf Tournament if it happened to be in-state at Shinnecock Hills or Bethpage Black, even some smaller more local events too like Roller Derby or Competitive Axe Throwing..
Great video! I did the tour last year, (just the history one) it was great. I gotta go back for a Judge 99 burger! Would love a day with Barr eating around the city and going to a game. Let me know if you're interested!
Scroll back up and smash that like button if you want to go to a Yankees game!

I'm jealous of cities that can take public transportation to a stadium.
wow
Washington DC you can take the Metro to the Nationals baseball stadium.
Is it possible to take public transit to Met Life in NJ to see the Giants or the Jets?
@@georgiasmith7615 yes but it’s a pain in the azz
Same with the Washington football stadium which is in Maryland. You have to take a shuttle bus after getting off the Metro.
CHICKENNNN BUCKETTTT! Thank you so much for having me, Jon. Definitely an experience as a Yankee fan I won't soon forget. 🎉
hahhaha. Thanks for the insights.
My son and share the chicken bucket very game we go
That was really cool that you got to do this, Brent! Pretty spot-on with the seating suggestions as well. 👍🏼
I’m sad they didn’t show the garlic fries!
I love how creative you are being recently with providing new and different content!
Another great video. I've spent the last few months watching your videos and I've now seen every single one. One of my favourite channels on TH-cam.
This has got to be my favorite video you have made.
Now we need a Citi Field video, or Madison Square Garden in the fall!
This was awesome! I'm British and a huge Yankee fan. We've been to games before and done the stadium tour, but I learnt loads of new stuff for our next visit in August. Thanks

I hate the offseason, I want to be back the stadium 😢
Very nice, been to a few Yankees games, very nice to know for the future and well done segment - Thanks!
Streetbird is a solid yankee stadium vendor.
Great video guys. Really well done.
Bro thank you! I’m from Seattle and I’m making my way to Yankee stadium next week, and I don’t know anything!

We are excited to have you
Fantastic video. I have been to Yankee Stadium twice and I so wish I could have saw this video before I went
This is my new favorite vlog you have done. All of the history that is there and the hands on experience pretty awesome
Went to Yankee stadium in 2019, thing was it was for the hudson Derby of NYCFC vs NYRB, but I can say I've sat in Yankee stadium and being able to drink a beer in the stand was an experience.

mr nitch he was my 5th grade teacher back in 2013
Sometimes I forget that legend Aaron judge was born in a city less than an hour away from where I was born

Do a Citi Field visitor's guide next!
its the better park of the new ones. food is amazing. the backyard area behind the bleachers is sick.
No one cares about the little Mets

YES. Well said.
This video is awesome! You should do more of these like Citi Field, Madison Square Garden, etc.
I'd love to do a knicks game like this.
GREAT video Jon! Very helpful info but confess… the food seemed to be just as important as the museum/history features. 😜😂🍻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love the ARod jersey
I am so glad you make a video like this, I remember I suggested a video for Yankee stadium, Us Open and Met life. Thank you so much.
Awesome Video
I’m an A’s fan but lots of respect for the Yankees and it’s fans.
Maybe you can do the same at Citifield
Perfect and insightful as always Jon!! We'll be there in a few weeks to enjoy!
We were in NY in April and went to the Yankee Stadium and had an amazing time! It was so easy to get there and was such a great atmosphere. We loved the chickennn buckettttt!
18 years ago i was at the L.A. Dodgers Stadium and it was great. I wish i could do it in new York as well but there was no time to do it. Must be a great experience. Thx for sharing with us
Seatgeek also has pretty cheap prices as well. Also you went to Lobel's which is the best food at the stadium bar none.
Thanks so much! Going to first yankee baseball game this august super excited to visit New York. You videos are so helpful. Definitely helps with our planning!
I'm raised in STL. But I still loved this. Thanks.
I’ll be checking out a Yankees game for the first time next week. Really looking forward for this experience. This will be my 10th MLB ballpark I’ve visited.
Jon this episode was so cool! I've been to the old Monument Park, but love the 9/11 dedication here. I didn't know about that. You know my background as a paramedic, and my years in The Bronx. Station 28 / OLM used to have their annual softball game at the old stadium. I've spent many times there, and can confirm the alcohol ban in the bleachers back then 🤣 The new stadium is gorgeous, and the museum is beautiful. They definitely stepped up their food game... All Rise for the 99 Burger!! Thanks for a great tour as always!
Thanks 🙏🏻
Great video. I love baseball. Cleveland and Yankees are my favorite teams, wish I could go to a NYY game. This video will be added to my favorites.
Thanks so much for sharing. I may never go to a game, but the video sure made me feel as if I were there.😊
Awesome video. I would seriously consider that tour. Looks fun. The 99 burger does taste great.
That was great. I watch all your videos but with this one I felt like I was there.
I’m a Red Sox fan but I was really interested in it great job Jon
Cool Video. Blessings from Germany! Go Yankees!
I would love that for my 40 birthday in August
Awesome . Very informative . Thanks for posting 👍
Excellent and seriously helpful informative and interesting video. Thanks!
I❤NY YANKEES !😍
Taking the 7 to shea and citi, the N and 4 to yankee and the R to MCU park made it easy to get to hundreds of games in the summer as a kid! Newyorkers are spoiled!
Your best video yet! Thank you. My era? How about:
Lopez, Mantle, Maris - Boyer, Kubek, Richardson, Skowron - Ford, Berra.
Awesome video, Yankee stadium looks amazing, however
Let’s go O’s 🧡⚾️
as a San Diego padres fan this is a must do when in nyc
That burger stole the show!
you just made youtuber Zack Hample jealous getting that ball lol
Hahah
Jon, thank you so much...!!!
Let's Go YANKEES👏👏,...👏👏👏...!!!
Watched this before l went to YS.
Said Hello to Brian in the Museum. Told him l recognised him from your video.
He was surprised this had reached Australia!!
At 6:37 a random appearing by Karl Anthony towns
I've been to two games this season at Yankee Stadium. Parked at the Rupert Plaza Garage right across the street. Parking was NOT $40, it was $47 both times.
6:36 Is that Karl Anthony Towns!?
That is lol
good video, but you forgot about the bar scene around yankee stadium, billys with the rooftop and stans, you gotta go to those bars before the game, great atmosphere for fans
The Mets: What do we look like, chop liver?? 👈
That would be an awesome series. When that nycfc stadium is done flushing will be an insane sport lovers paradise.
Your best video ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The pro move and usually the longest line at Yankee Stadium is the garlic fries. Not a first date ballpark snack!
Totally far out video! Go NY Yankees!!! 😍😍🤪
Great video! I did the tour last year, (just the history one) it was great. I gotta go back for a Judge 99 burger! Would love a day with Barr eating around the city and going to a game. Let me know if you're interested!
