Im fairly new, lucky if I can make a double bogey, but I always try to stay positive. Whether rain or shine, birdies or bogeys you are always smiling! Great commentary while you play, too. I enjoy explaining why youre taking certain shots and which club youre using. :)

I’m impressed with your self control, if that was me the bleep machine would be worn out. We all have tough rounds like that but you’ll be out again ready to do battle. As they say “nobody said it would be easy” 😂😂
Dennis mate it's a hard course everyone says so. Watch Danny Maude he makes sense most of the time. When you make your practice swing you hit the ground in front of the ball move your ball slightly forward in n your stance works for me. Good luck keep on bogeying buddy
man like your videos but you should count properly :) 15.41, that's actually your fourth shot, not your third. Let me break it down: when you drop the ball where you lost it, you get hit with a two-stroke penalty, not just one. So, the next shot becomes your fourth. Another option is to play a provisional shot from the tee, and that's your 3rd, with the next one being your fourth. Either way, it all adds up to your fourth shot.
Yep, that's inspired me to get out tomorrow morning and have another round. Nothing for it but to keep practicing and keep working at it. This stuff makes me feel human. I'm juuuuuuust starting to break 100 every now and then. Want to aim for breaking 95 on the regular.
I know you like to carry but have you considered experimenting for the comp by getting the clubs off your shoulder/back? Trolley or third party to carry, if you could save even 2/3 shots minimum, it could make or break when it comes to final placings?
You’ve got a great attitude and your swing is actually pretty good for a beginner. I don’t know if your editing some of your puts on the green, but try and take an extra 15-20 seconds over each putt and do some practice swings visualizing the ball going in the hole. It helps me a lot. Looking forward watching your progress

Great video Dennis, I seem to be watching them all now and I commend your cheerfulness! Far too much sand on that course for my liking , a bit too penalising really on a difficult course anyway!
Unlucky mate. On the long bunker shots add some more speed, hinge the wrist and feel like your skimming the sand. Not burying it into the sand. Don’t be scared to add plenty of speed mate.
I love your videos and you are probably a better golfer than me, but it really looks like you need to quit being cute with your shots in bunkers. Open up the clubface and slap the sand behind the ball at good speed and accelerate through it. Bunker shots should be sent to the moon and back down, not barely rolling out onto the fringe/green on the occasion you do get it out. Bringing long into play is generally much better than potentially another bunker shot
playing in the rain is going to add 10 strokes minimum at least for me. i had the opposite problem sunday. we were under a heat advisory. i started at 8 am. it wasnt supposed to break 85 degrees F until noon but it was well over 93F by 10:30. i was done after 14 holes

I do pest control for a living and living in the south in the US. It gets close to 100F July and august. I do it 5 days a weeks. I have to stop subjecting myself to this on the weekends as well. Lol. Just watching you play, I think you would do better to ditch the hybrid, you are striking your irons really well most of the time. Wet sand bunker shots are the bane of my existence. Arrgghhhh!!! Heck, those conditions, bunkers everywhere and much faster greens than you are used to, 105 isn't bad at all. Hate to think what I would score if I hit that many bunkers. Fortunately I am a lot straighter than you, if a bit shorter, so I can usually avoid bunkers, dropping into the green side beaches on long approach shots. Enjoyed this one a lot. Carry on.
@@BogeyGolfUK IDK driving iron, mighty tough to control. However, Hybrids are sort of solutions looking for a problem. Most of the things they are supposed to fix are better fixed by refining one's swing. And the low HC golfers I occasionally play with have all tried, and all ditched, Hybrids in favor of a lesson and some practice with their long irons. Cheaper and more useful around the course.
Great content as always. As an ex PGA golf pro i would highly recommend a course of lessons with your local PGA golf pro to improve your game in the long run. Just a couple of changes and some constructive practice and you will be breaking 80. Top channel and top work.
Having played that course earlier this year I feel your pain! You look a little steep on your wedges/bunker shots, that’s why you keep fatting/duffing. Would put less weight on your less and make a shallower swing, try to slice under the ball at speed, helped me with my bunker shots no end. But it’s a tough old course, respect for the positive mental attitude!
Good luck on the 11th. Plenty of positives from that round despite the scoring. You never seem to let your head drop and thats one of the most important things. Got to add that you and "Not a Perfect Golfer" are my two favourite amateur vloggers as you both have a fantastic attitude to your game that many of us (this old git included) can learn from.
the hardest course I ever played at was the Royal Dornoch golf club in Dornoch Scotland! I shot a 93 and I normally shoot in the low 80's was a great experience playing over the pond!
Played terribly, only 18 points on the Brabazon. Hopefully, more luck on the Derby and PGA National. 33 points on the Derby 41 points to win on the PGA. No driver, just 5 wood for 104
Definitely factor in how much harder the course is 😂 sounded a little hard on yourself at times. Great practice for tourney. On bunker shots what worked for me was thinking about entry and ‘exit’ of the sand, so open face ball entry a couple ball lengths before then exit out of sand a bit after the ball (seems to work nicely for me but by all means this is not advice from credible source). Keep at it
The Menace!!..First of all the first bunker you were in WTF! I think I would have ended up kipping in there overnight before I got it out. You're driving was impressive and you finished off most holes well as 2-5 footers never easy, and that lovely chip on the 7th was worth the entrance fee alone. That course was frightening! I thought you would shoot 110. You played much better on the back nine. The tips will be crazy! At least you will have some course knowledge for that. Good luck and can't wait to watch that one. I think you will beat 110.

Tough track that PGA, especially in changeable weather along with challenging bunkers and for the first time of playing it you have done well. The Brabazon is a little more of a challenge due to it being tighter but both need ticking off of the "courses I must play" list. Head up and on to the next challenge remembering that no two days golfing are ever the same and we all play better when the sun is shining👍👍 Whats happening with the driver / 3 wood lessons as an extra 60 to 100yds of the tee will see your handicap tumbling?
Yeah it was a tough day to tackle it but yeah all in all I’m actually okay with how it went. Still struggling bigtime with the woods.. having more lessons this week to see if we can fix it. I’ve had the tops for a while now with them

What a beast of a course! tough round for you but there were glimmers of light. Are you having lessons or have you had any over the year because you've come on leaps and bounds. I started almost one year ago today, and had quite a few lessons and my good scores are similar to your good ones, without the lessons i'd be nowhere
Tell me about it, tough old beast if you’re off your game like i was! I started with loads of lessons and fell off a bit, I’m now starting to have regular check ups because my game is in the bin at the moment 😂

Love the video as always. It's proper relatable golf! Just watched the bit where you're talking about all the bunkers and how if you don't hit GIR it's impossible to go low there... I've been working on "sensible golf" a lot recently which is all about avoiding the situations that cause the doubles and triples. If you're not confident of hitting the green and there's trouble around it, club down so you know you'll come up short to give you a nice easy chip which you might be able to put close. Good luck with the break 95 series, break 90 here we come.

You probably know way more about golf TH-camrs than me but have you seen a channel called Golf Sidekick? Almost none of his videos are about swing improvements/technical skills, it's all about strategy and the mental side on the course. If you haven't seen his stuff then I'd definitely recommend checking it out, it's really helped me recently.
Absolute trooper. The rain just zaps your energy. Soft conditions are tough on a steep swing. I know from experiance. it just robs your distance because the ball will roll up the face instead of exploding off of it. Guys that can sweep the ball have an advantage in wet conditions. That course was long. You did an admirable job. The ball striking is there. Later in the round those divits were starting to shallow out. That's proof. Play your game. That's what we're here for. @@BogeyGolfUK I'm sure you got a lot of advice on the bunker play. Here's my two cents. Long bunker shots like you faced on the third hole can be played with your standard wedge. You will get the exta yardage you need to cover the distance. You can play it open for the height. You still want to take sand. A wide open sand wedge is not going to cover the distance you needed. P.S., I'm sorry, but I giggled when you hit the second one.
