    Hello Persolaise, Well, I think i´s called "á fleur de pêche" because it´s a word game with the french words "à fleur de peau " which means to be a very sensitive/delicate person. In my opinion it is refering to the very sensitive skin of peaches. When you touch a peachskin, it reminds of soft human skin...I bought a bottle today. It´s a georgous perfume! 🙂

    It’s a play on “ a fleur de peau” an expression that means “on edge” or “hypersensitive “
    -je suis a fleur de peau /I’m a little sensitive right now

    A Fleur De Peche is very nostalgic 90s to me. I felt that when I first sampled it. Instantly reminded me of an expensive version of the herbal essence shampoos that were in the floral bottles. I love it.

    Solaris was a love for me and I bought a bottle after using 4 samples. I liked that the citrus and blackcurrant cuts through the cloying and waxy ylang/tiare/sunscreen. I had never been able to tolerate to wear a solar scent until this one

    • @Persolaise

      Yes, for a ‘solar’ scent, it’s very well done.

    I like my perfumes to have a sillage but not as big and loud as many perfumes are these days. The issue today is that some fragrances are really toned down/watered down and others are so potent that you might still smell them on Mars. ;-) I just like a good balance like former Guerlain's. Their sillage were easily perceptible but always in refined and elegant manner. Not intrusive and vulgar like most mainstream niche releases of these last years.
    As for the "A fleur de pêche" it is a play on words. "A fleur de peau" means to be very sensitive. We also say "peau de pêche" for a very soft skin. I would say it might be an olfactory interpretation of the peach fruit: the flower, the flesh and the skin (and its velvety aspect). You mention Petalia. I have to say that I'm not a fan of that molecule since it smells very synthetic to my nose and often spoils the floral perfume for me.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for writing. I think more people are feeling the same as you about sillage.

  • @amandavelvet5410

    Le "A fleur de pêche" is borrowing its "A" from the expression "à fleur de peau" which means at the surface of the skin. In french, this expression mainly means "being extremely sensitive". I guess they could have just called the fragrance "sensitive peach".

    Best perfume content on TH-cam! And I know your fans, myself included, will continue to tune-in no matter which review format you go with; I certainly enjoy hearing your thoughts on a previously-spritzed perfume's drydown, but I equally enjoy a "love at first scent” first impression. Great stuff!

    I quickly got a sample of Patchouli Noisette and loved it. I agree with your reflections, though I got a slight smokey note too. As I wear scents for my personal pleasure I don't mind quiet/intimate scents but sometimes one wants something a little more. I've been sampling a new brand called Artimique and the two of the three I've tried so far start out interesting but then rapidly fade in about 30 minutes despite they are EdPs.

    • @Persolaise

    I may try Patchouli Noisette. Another fragrance that gives me the feeling of having skin that naturally smells good is Vanilj from Maya Njie. Its patchouli mixed with vanilla in a way I find beautiful. Her Tropica fragrance really gives that "your skin naturally smells good" feeling in the drydown too. I enjoy that type of feeling in fragrances. A lot of people do complain about the silage on those though.

    My husband went crazy for Solaris,he is so used to smelling perfumes on me he hardly ever comments I put this on the first time he brought the scent up twice in the car, then a week later I wore it again and he said you smell so good I told him it was the same one from the week before, I don’t like that scent in PDM it turns me off and smells so bad on me, I’m glad to now know what it is

    Fleur de pêche is a play on words of the expression “à fleur de peau” meaning very sensitive or close to the skin. Probably referring to the skin of the peach.

    The trend for aggressive scent profiles isn’t going away.
    It has infiltrated body and haircare. Buying new bath and hair products recently has been quite annoying. A brand new shampoo/conditioner had to go in the bin, they were overloaded with coumarin that stayed in the hair. Even old favourites repackaged and “reformulated” with new smells that are sharp and aggressive and intrusive.
    I almost understand now the pushback of consumers who want everything fragrance-free in hair and skincare.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah, interesting. I’ve been seeking out unscented bath products for quite a few years now.

      @@Persolaise fingers crossed! A return to sanity. When all these harsh woody aromachemicals are in an enclosed space, it’s the equivalent of an infinite nasal shouting match on a background of every sports channel turned up to the max.
