People complain about her music being trash, yet people complain about bubble gum pop-music that is made to be appealing to a mass audience aka “mainstream”. I think she’s doing her own thing, I’m not a fan of her music personally, I can’t name one song besides Bad Guy, but I am a fan of how she did it. Her brother is the mastermind behind it all. That’s what I mean by “revolutionary”, these are just kids making music in their bedrooms.
Music back then used to be pumped out of like factories, genres like country & mainstream pop were fed to us through MTV & whatever was on the radio & people didn’t like that & they complained about it, that’s how underground music started.
Now there’s kids blowing up because a large audience liked their little songs they made with their laptop. Nobody is asking you to like Billie Eilish but understand that these were just kids trying to have some fun making music & their dreams came true. & I think that is revolutionizing music, shedding light on those who aren’t being heard enough.

And they aren't bothered about looking sexy, Bjork is as likely to turn up dressed as a tomato as a fairy. They are not musically similar but I see a similarity in attitude. Billie's personality is filtered through the styles and production techniques of today's music just as Bjork was in her heyday, so I think it is always going to be harder for the older generations to get it.

I love Billie and Lana, but, aside from the whispery singing, I don’t really see the comparison between the two

@@johnpangarakis396 Whispery detached "cool AF" girl next door image (it was initially for Lana as well). Down to earth lyrics, unpleasant themes and awkward sexuality. It's just even more nihilistic this time :D Thus - "for zoomers" instead of "for millenials"

Alex Mort I can see that, I still feel like their music is different at its core if that makes any sense

When the party's over gave me a chance to explain to my friends and family what was going on in my head after my group if friends broke apart. My autism really effects my ability to express my feelings. So I often create very symbolic and bizarre videos to express my emotions. Yet somehow those videos allow others to get the gist of what I have been feeling.
I've been able to communicate my trauma and feelings through When The Party's Over, Other Side of Paradise, Sweden, Empire Ants, and a few others.
