It is an excellent activity since it gets you off the couch. There's a lot of history, particularly in the northeast, that is slowly being washed away as most people do not care, but as you can see, pre-1940s architecture was wonderful and should be conserved rather than neglected. Especially in the second half of this video as I mentioned that in 30-50 years from now many of the buildings in the run down areas will start to be destroyed due to the neglect.
It would be really awesome to see videos exploring the Janesville, Hallsville and Somerville neighborhoods in Manchester. I grew up in an American Foursquare in the Somerville neighborhood.
Yes it is sad to see how the west side neighborhoods have declined. I grew up on S. Main St., I went to Ste Marie's HS. I knew a lot of people from that area, my wife lived on Cartier St near you and her best friend lived in the red ranch on Dubuque. My maternal grandparents lived on Cartier and my paternal grandparents lived on Dubuque. Lot's of good memories.
Towards the beginning of your video when you entered that newer development off of Coolidge Ave, you mentioned you thought it was Dr Dupuis that owned the original brick home on the estate. I could be wrong but I think it was a Dr Berube and I believe he was a dentist . Funny enough when later in the video you spoke to a guy about the building getting renovated you could see Dr Dupuis house across on Coolidge Ave. It is also a brick house and i remember it had awnings. He was the mayor of manchester at one time I believe.
Dude, I'm hooked on your channel. Being an amateur urban archeologist, your videos inspire my own research and travels.

@@pierreboissonneault3846 Let's hope for the future.
My mom grew up on Hevey st. Sadly the house burned down in 2022 and a new apartment building has been built. Miss that old house.
