Her playing piano and her reaction reminded me of the driving scene in Severance.

I'm hoping against hope they don't jump the shark on this show. Please God, don't let them Lindelof this thing. What worries me is that we're headed to a sappy "love is stronger than physics" kind of conclusion that ends up paving over the complexities of a smart concept with butterscotch frosting. A mother and daughter's bond leading to self-sacrifice is legit, but only if they don't resort to magic or sentimentality to try and make it work. Decent hard sci-fi is rare enough in...what would you call this? "Television"? Anyway, so far so good. But, more often then not, I've been let down in the end. 🤞

I think I have an idea of where it might be going, but I'm going to finish research before I say it 😆

You guys do an excellent job with the podcast, but I think you need to come up with a better name than "Crappy Reviews". That's a really terrible name for a serious and indeed somewhat cerebral podcast, and it suggests you take a less than serious aproach to your reviews or else that you only review shows that are lower in quality. I inititally scrolled right past your listing because I couldn't imagine a podcast with that name being any good. But I was wrong. You guys discuss the show in an insightful and intellectual manner that is totally belied by your name. I really think you will grow your audience a lot faster if you come up with a better name th.at more accurately reflects the style of your presentation.

One of the limited but vivid memories I have of my grandmother was when she and my dad were arguing about Nelson Mandela’s death. This was 20-25 years ago, and the news was talking about a book that was coming out about him. My grandmother said, “But he died,”and she could not be convinced otherwise. It was a whole thing. The first ME conversation I ever heard was when he was alive and well between two people that lived through the 80s and 90s as adults. Then, a decade or more later, I heard about the Mandela Effect for the first time.
And it’s for sure Berenstein 😊

I’m so happy to have found your channel! Really interesting discussion on here that I haven’t been able to find in most other places. I agree with @rickmarshall345 that I didn’t expect to find quality content with your channel’s name, and only clicked on it because I was running out of quality channels to choose and figured you might have a novel theory to offer. Well, damn, you guys are totally kicking it out of the park here with your analysis and interpretations. Great job! Your name doesn’t do you justice.

WOW! Thanks, I just uploaded episode five's video which was a lot of fun to make!
We have heard the name thing a few times since we started the channel and we are discussing a rebrand that better reflects what we are doing. :)
      We appreciate the support!

In ep1, it starts by Jo listening to a tape of herself that is a recording of herself saying “Why don’t you answer… alert alert capsule is on fire…”
In ep3, when she actually lands the capsule, this version of her does not experience what is on the recording. If you watch ep1 audio recording and ep3 landing, you can see why she’s confused and says “the world is the wrong way around”.
In ep1, right before the accident, if you pay close attention to Jo’s daughter’s, you can see that the show is discreetly showing two realities because Jo’s daughter switches clothes and hairstyle every other clip.
Then the CAL gets turned on.
A moment later the proximity alarm goes off (for this Jo)
Jo and her daughter were linked via iPad when the CAL was turned on, entangling them both.
Jo swaps places with her alternate reality during reentry, most likely caused by that radiation belt debated about on the cruise.

Correct we open the show with Jo listening to the tapes she received at the end of E4. We see two versions of this happening at the same time in the opening ISS scenes. One Jo dies, the other lives and switches places, but we see Jo and Alice jumping realities throughout the show.
The purpose of CAL was to "talk" between the realities, sort of like an interpretation of the Everett/Wheeler phone.
I agree, I assume the iPad connected Alice, there isn't really another time when it makes sense for it to happen.

That's correct. After E4 we know that she was listening to other Irena in the beginning. At the end of E4 she was hearing her other self up till the point of the accident.
