Papyrus managed to defend the house but it cost his life. He was unable to survive his own attack and died of energy deprivation and the wounds he sustained. Seeing him in his final moments is a sickening image that is stuck in my head

Its not hate. Its fear. Big difference. In fact, Betty was probably using a hallucination papyrus to make sans accept death instead of trying to fight even after getting impaled. Quite sad how he died. Probably overwhelmingly painful as well.

Okay, this might not be fully accurate, but here's what SEEMS to be the differences from this and Timeline 2. First of all, This is a variation of Timeline 1, which is the timeline where Chara dies. There is apparently an official series of drawings made by Cami detailing what would happen AFTER Chara's death in T1. So, let's just list those. -Papyrus is either dead, or heavily wounded. Sans finds him like that. -Undyne and Ronan are dead. Thus, Kumuzilla is alive, and attacking the city. -Gaster is dead too. Okay, That's the important info for timeline 1, now here's the series of events taking place in this. -Papyrus is fatally wounded trying to protect the house. -Sans wakes up, finds Papyrus, and sees Papy dust in from of him. -Sans then notices Kumuzilla, and seems to go fight it. (We hear a blaster sound, and he seemingly melts faster. If he did fight Kumuzilla, then it's not that he's melting faster, it's that it's been a longer amount of time.) -Betty killed either one or both of the goats. -Sans comes in and finishes Betty off, using the last of his DT in the process. (Him melting makes the most sense if he DID fight off Kumuzilla, but he might have just teleported there.) -HATE takes over the remains of Betty and kills Sans. -City is absolutely f*cked.
I wonder if papyrus could help because he could try protect undyne and gaster but then since (I think) gaster should be able to make kind of a time machine so he could save sans and alphys when he recoveres
Ascended papyrus would be disbelief papyrus because betty killed all he loved and there will be a ascended bonetrousle that will be a remix or like disbelief papyrus phase 1/2/3/4 song
I think base sans could finish off betty although he would die too, KR is some crazy stuff and sans obviously has a baseline amount of determination its just outclassed by flowey and frisk
