Notification squad! I think I've decided if I do a trailer it'll be as much spray foam as I can handle losing interior space. at least 3", maybe 4" if I can afford it and the trailer is big enough.
Awesome, if we would have done a roof raise I would have went with spray foam. I didn't want to lose any more head room. If you do a trailer build hopefully you film it.
@@bigfamilyexpedition yeah school buses are already short enough so understandable. I'm a tall guy so don't think I could do a skoolie without a roof raise regardless of insulation.
All the insulation seemed to fit just right, you must have measured and cut precisely. I look forward to the video where you begin your journey in the bus. 😊
LOT'S of planning showing through! I like the foam board with spray foam for the small gaps. The expanded spay foam may even help to snug up the foam boards.
Hi Kenny! Hi Chrissy! Great idea to add two by twos for nailers. Great work on the insulation. We are very excited to see more skoolie updates! You two must be getting excited to get on the road!
@@bigfamilyexpedition Guess what? Yep we are all caught up! Great shorts and videos! Fun to watch from the beginning and see what we missed. So excited for the next video, to see what you have been up to!
This looks like fun!! Cant wait to see what you do! That new insulation is so much cleaner and easier to work with. Good idea to put it all over, I remember how cold those buses were!!
It has been a fun project! Yes, I remember how cold the busses were too! Hopefully we can stay warm. 😂 We can't wait for it to be finished and to get on the road! Thanks for watching. ❤️
Great job as always on the bus. I literally can’t wait to see the results! ❤. Take care guys. Have a wonderful week! Thanks for always being so so kind and sharing!
Looks so much easier then the old pink junk. You always have to make the best decision for you and this looked great and easy you handle the curves well! Nice video and yoir on your way these are fun to watch and see rhe progress!
@@bigfamilyexpedition I insulated a enclosed trailer several months ago. Initially, it seemed like a simple project, but somehow I managed to make it more difficult than it should’ve been.🤣
Thanks for sharing. I used foam board in my remote cabin. I cut each piece about 3/4" short then spray-foamed around the edges to make it air tight. Looking forward to seeing your conversion.
You're not concerned about the thermal bridging? I mean, I don't know your intent for this project and of course it's your project, so no judgement here, just wondering if you're aware of techniques to break the thermal bridging and outside temp transfer to the interior.
That's a good question. We are looking into what we can do to not lose any more room on the inside and at the same time prevent some of the thermal bridging.
@@bigfamilyexpedition Just about all bus builders are aware of Chuck Cassidy. He's the YT guru bus builder pretty much. This video should help you out with some good suggestions and explanations. I think I was crazy to want to frame with plywood until I seen his video. I hadn't intended on doubling it up, but he makes sense here so I will now be doubling it up. It does turn out to be a hair bit more expensive but there's really nothing but advantages by doing it this way, using " 3/4 plywood strapping". th-cam.com/video/codc32FDTZA/w-d-xo.html

Me too!!! I guess now that he has it down I'll let him do all the cleaning from now on! 😁❤️🤣 Thanks for watching ! ❤️ - Chrissy
We used the same foam board insulation in our bus. Looking good Kenny!
I would have gone with spray foam but I didn't want to lose any more head room, thanks for watching.
Love this! Was curious how this went all together - another great video!
Thank you 😁

The expanding foam is doing a great job of filling the gaps, and it is holding everything together.

I would have liked to see how you measured the cuts you made to make it flex.
I'm sorry, I didn't even realize I didn't film that until I was editing.
