The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The congregation also staffs rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky

A big problem here in Ireland is a lack of priests. Most our priests are elderly and our church is facing a crisis in years to come. Pray for God to send us priests.

What you say is true, but that is not the real problem. The real problem is that the priests we have do not lead or feed the people. How can we expect the Father to send us more priests when the ones we have will not speak the truth?

It is by design. Universities don't even offer theology degrees. Ireland went from being a Catholic country to being woke in record time.

I thought I was a real rebel in Catholic High School (St. Anthony, Maui). had over 100 dress code infractions freshman year alone. But in this day an age? an age full of lies and deceit, honesty gives you the operational advantage. and honestly? I wouldn't be a true rebel if I did not rebel against the zeitgeist, and the zeitgeist is one that dismisses the fundamental religious presupposition; "what is it to be a good person and how do I become such a person?". As secular and non-dogmatic as I am, I wouldn't be a true rebel if I didn't act this way now in the face of everything else.
so, keep on preaching preacher man!!! you're on to something so deep and fundamental that even those who just want to be a good "secularly arrogant" person can get on board with the reality of enacting it. Because even people like me, who love the freedom of just being themselves, can look at what's in front of them and despite the cries to the same "freedom" still view them as overstepping those boundaries and into the realm of tyranny.

Thank you for sharing about your own personal struggle too while preaching about this parable while setting a good example for all. It explains a lot. Because it is true that as human beings it is confusing to all of us when one of our children in a parish starts rebeling along with a young rebel that they have befreinded whom we have started to grow fond of too. While that is happening more often too. It is true that we the church need to be more like the father in this parable when waiting for the wayward to come home while we ourselves, while remembering that we are sinners too, continue to refuse in compromising our morals to go along with current culture. Instead of becoming angry people too.

It's hard to believe that after 50yrs of rebellion ,anybody would have the thought of being taken seriously in commenting on the fact, and sure enough he isn't....being 76yrs and a victim of his brother clerics betrayal of our lord and his church I can testify (although not necessary) that every single rotten cowardly one of his father's in the faith ,especially the bishops, stand exposed to condemnation as faithless shepherds...those exempt and in god's favour are of course archbishop Lefebvre and his true Catholic followers both clerical and lay. You have father my warm contempt and nausea

19:50 Sin of a Catholic has social implications attached to it. It will reflect on the society he/she lives in because you know and are taught that in the Eucharistic celebration it is the living God that one Worships and hence we Catholic see and touch Him the God Almighty making us more accountable than any faith followers on Earth. Confession is the only instrument (read Sacrament) that makes the return of Grace possible for mankind. Therefore Confession nullifies the Sin of a Catholic hence its sting on society where every one of all faiths live. God bless you all

To prove that I knew a lot about God I played along with the people who said I was hired by the devil because I only would listen when I was in the church hall to what was being said about God but somewhere else like someone's house having a gathering talking about God I would just be not interested and leave knowing they noticed so I don't need to listen throughout because that would be not respecting them if I stayed, and because I am smart I also played along with the people who were pretending to be my family members knowing if I didn't I would be all alone in the time when I had to be around them far away from my father even then I was the bad person because I was pretending not to care about my father but not paying attention to what they really wanted to see, me being like the son you are talking about who ended up with nothing because I knew all about the teachings of the bible whereas they did not know that I was reading the bible because I would read it privately, all I noticed is if you stopped talking about Jesus and stick to talking about God you would never have problems like you do now, not in a bad way but keep Jesus out of your teachings and just talk about what he expects from those who are sinners and talk about his birthday and his resurrection, that is talking less about him in order to keep people interested in listening to what you go to church for which is respect for everyone and those who are sinners should be encouraged to have their own churches so they can come to your church if they failed in their own churches not this of keeping them with you when they are not willing to listen to the teachings of the bible, let's see them doing their own things first, God has no time for sinners if you ask me trust me I know better
