    Hey all! 👋 We were flooded with requests for Loxone compatibility for our Server, so we decided to make a push for it. Here is the new 1Home Server for Loxone! www.1home.io/server-for-loxone

    I want your help to understand something. Why to use a KNX router for integrating with Matter and not use a router that is Matter compatible. What are the advantages. By the way your video is really good.

    • @1HomeSmartHome
      @1HomeSmartHome  หลายเดือนก่อน

      We are not sure what you mean by "using a KNX router for integrating Matter". Can you explain this a bit more? KNX router (short for KNX IP router) in short simply allows you to bring KNX traffic to IP. No KNX IP Router is Matter compatible at the moment. Having said that the 1Home Server is both a KNX IP interface (however not a KNX IP router) and also supports Matter bridging. Oh, and awesome to hear you like the video :)

    I'm a happy costumer using the 1Home bridge for more than 3 years now. Any real benefit to change to this new 1Home Server? Thanks

      @1HomeSmartHome  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1Home Server is bringing big changes compared to Bridge, most notably Matter integration, completely local operation and powerful custom automations.

    Cool new features, especially the error detection is very useful. ❤
    Will the sonos integration also be possible with the 1 home server?

    • @rokprevolsek9728
      @rokprevolsek9728 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We will probably support Sonos with a direct integration at some point - if they do not start supporting Matter before that.

      You also require an Apple Hub (Apple TV or HomePod)

    Will it be possible to integrate matter devices (philips hue devices in my case) into knx over the bridge, in a way that i am able to control my devices via physical knx switches? at the moment i am doing this via an extra device, the ise hue gateway.

    • @1HomeSmartHome
      @1HomeSmartHome  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes indeed, with the upcoming launch of 1Home Matter Controller you will be able to bring Matter devices directly into 1Home and then use them in scenes and automations with KNX devices - for example turning on Philips Hue lights with KNX pushbutton :)

    What is the difference between the bridge and the server? If i have KNX and just want to use HomeKit witch should i buy?

    • @1HomeSmartHome
      @1HomeSmartHome  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Both Server and Bridge will enable you to use your Apple Home app with KNX. The Server does have more powerful hardware, enables local operation, while also being more future-proof with the Matter integration and the upcoming release of the Advanced Logic Module.

      @@1HomeSmartHome thx for the fast reply- i was investigativ a long time and in the summer, when i think the house is finished, I will join 1home.
      I have to do a comparison between the Server and the bridge again when I’m ready for buying!
      But I have to say it’s looking promising and since the system is fully local* I don’t mind about privacy (*uploading the project)

    Der KNX TP Bus ist für die Stromzufuhr notwendig, muss das ein bestimmter sein oder kann ich auch hier den "MEANWELL KNX-20E-640" verwenden?

    • @GregorKrmelj1h
      @GregorKrmelj1h ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any external 12-30VDC power source should be sufficient. The MEANWELL KNX-20E-640 appears to have auxiliary power output (besides the TP Bus output with choke) so it should work. However the 640 mA power rating depends on your installations size. If you have a "larger" installation I would look into the MW KNX-40E-1280 or another power supply from a different manufacturer. The 1Home Server being a powerful device consumes typically (under normal predicted operation) 2-3W @30VDC but could reach 5W if the device is utilized to the max of it's hardware capabilities.

    What I am still lacking to understand: Will 1home server make it obsolete to further make configurations over the ETS software eniterly or partially?
    I assume that for attaching new devices one still has to use ETS. But after that configuring the interactions?

    • @GregorKrmelj1h
      @GregorKrmelj1h 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have KNX devices like a switching actuator and push button then of course it's best to utilize ETS so that these devices communicate directly for "essential" features.
      Higher level logic (advanced automations) are very difficult to program directly in ETS without an automation/logic device - in this case 1Home Server with it's upcoming automations feature will be that device. With the 1Home Server besides bridging KNX into Matter so that it can communicate with any smart assistant (Apple, Google, Samsung, etc.), you will be also able to create complex automations. In that case you will need ETS "partially" - just to import the configured devices into the 1Home Server. Most of the time you won't even need a license for ETS since using our ETS autodetect project feature you can drag and drop an existing ETS project installation file and have the devices created for you. Once imported you simply use the 1Home dashboard to create the desired automations. No additional ETS programming is required.
      Did I answer your question?

      Both Server and Bridge are standalone devices, so if you decide for the Server, there's no need to also use the Bridge. You can find the full feature comparison table here: 1home.io/pricing

      @@1HomeSmartHome there are some features i am missing:
      - Monitoring and logging options for devices, with the bridge i used to log my values from wind and lux sensors. Thats not possible with the server (?).
      - for blinds control, the options "up" and "down" are missing. now i have to tell alexa "blinds 0%" or "blinds 100%". That worked for the bridge.
      - inverting signals -> it's not possible anymore to tell the server to invert open/shut commands for an awning or thermostat (heating/cooling) e.g.
      - there is no dasboard. with the bridge, i was able to create a dashboard where i could visualize and control my devices. i used that for test purposes because not every devices worked with alexa or google.
      i appreciate the matter functionality, but its still relatively "beta".... hope this will improve a lot (google home and alexa especially)

    what is the limitation on the ETS file.
    could we upload a file with hundreds of devices and more than 500 group addresses?
    and is it possible to upload multiple ETS files in one 1home server?

    • @1HomeSmartHome
      @1HomeSmartHome  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it should work well even for large ETS sizes.
      Different ETS files are probably used on different KNX systems or KNX lines. You can connect up to 4 additional KNX gateways in 1Home Server, and upload a separate ETS project file for each. Note though that when uploading you have to select the correct gateway. You can configure KNX gateways under "Integrations -> KNX".
      You could also upload two ETS projects on the same KNX gateway, but then the KNX group address hints and autocomplete will only be used by the last one.

      I am missing several features of the bridge:
      - Logging of values and show them in a graph. Useful for temperatues, wind speed, alarms etc...
      - Dashboard to visualize devices apart of just using third party apps. This was especially useful for devices not supported by google, alexa etc
      -inverting commands for knx devices, e.g. up and down for blinds or an awning, heat/cold for thermostats...
      - change device types -> on the server i have to create a new device and delete the old one.
      But i appreciate the matter function although it still seems relatively "beta".. alexa is struggling, google home is doing better. I hope there will be more improvements.

      The 1Home Server enables you to connect KNX with smart assistants via Matter, and more. For example; you have a KNX installation, but you would like to control it with Apple Home app, use Siri for voice control, as well as use non-KNX IoT devices. Our Server enables you to do just that, as well as enables secure remote control and programming, advanced automation module, and more. Feel free to learn more here: www.1home.io/server-for-knx

Obwohl wir dafür bekannt sind, schnellen und effizienten Support zu bieten, gibt es Zeiträume, in denen der Support aufgrund von hohem Traffic oder technischen Schwierigkeiten etwas langsamer ist.
