In the remaster version, bracelets, like the copper and silver bracelets, actually make the monks defense go up higher, so long as they don't equip gloves or caps.
It has nothing to do with the equipment type. The monk has base absorb that is equal to his stamina divided by something small. At level 1 leather armor or a copper bracelet will be an upgrade. As you gain a few levels it will no longer help until you get strong armor like the silver bracelets.
@@vellayiikintherealworld It's just a game that I speedrun and has no story to skip. I happen to currently hold 7 different official world records in the game. It just feels right to keep playing a game that I'm pretty decent at.
