A prayer of David.
1 Hear me, Lord, my plea is just;
listen to my cry.
Hear my prayer-
it does not rise from deceitful lips.
2 Let my vindication come from you;
may your eyes see what is right.
3 Though you probe my heart,
though you examine me at night and test me,

In the case of Korah son of Izhar, he is remembered for the rebellious action together with Dathan and Abiram against Moses according to Numbers 16:21. This story also appears in the Qur'an, where Korah is named Qarun (see Biblical narratives and the Qur'an).

However, the sons of Korah are descendants of this guy Korah you refer to. And in David's time the "sons of Korah" are the worship leaders and the choir in the temple of Israel. This is a title they will retain well into the time of Ezra. So this is actually a completely group of people. They even wrote some of the psalms such as Psalm 84.

There is a Korah who is Esau's third son through his wife Oholibamah who was a Hittite.
The Korah in Numbers 16 is a Levite cousin of Moshe(his father, Izhar and Moshe's father, Amram were brothers) he was jealous God put Moshe in charge. He and the others who rebelled were destroyed, however Korahs sons did not rebel, remained faithful to YHVH.
They wrote many songs, Psalms for the services. This, these guys have named their group after them.
