Most single moms have loads of family support. I have literally been alone with my kids no help no family and my story is not a story of success like hers. The fact that we are alive is the amount of success I have achieved

Most single moms that I know including myself do not have support. I have nothing and when I have a tiny amount of help from the kindness of a friend, I appreciate it so much. But then it’s back to square one, I always struggle. I have lost countless jobs because the lack of support, even childcare isnt affordable 100% of the time I need it. I feel there’s no end in sight. I’m doing my best and we are healthy, alive, and the bills are mostly paid. I guess that is a small success!

I have three kids. I'm low income and I can't afford to pay for childcare outside the hours covered by my vouchers. I'm finishing my degree. But meeting anyone, dating, going out feels impossible. I feel like I'm already spread too thin and I'm always with my kids. I definitely agree that we single moms need to put ourselves first so our kids get the best of us and a bright future.

So... Im here because I want to see if being a successful single mom exists. My ex left me, and took our son. Naturally I want them both safe, so I literally dump thousands of dollars each month and give her all the support so she can take off on her own, (25 percent of the obligated versus the 60 percent I actually give her). Long story short, she hasn't. It's not easy and I have a huge amount of respect for you considering you did it all on your own. Universally you have to want to succeed.

I was doing good achieving my goals, doing online school, working full time taking her to childcare during the day, using her time at her dads to have a rich social life, and I just started to feel guilty like I wasn't spending enough time with her. So I caved and let her dad move in with me to help me with her. It is a relief, but I feel like a failure because all of that kind of led me to exhaustion. How do you deal with exhaustion as a mom when it seems like the grind never stops? Even a few days off doesn't really do it for me.

I like this alot because most of the videos I have seen have used self love alot and I've never understood that. One video was saying I cant love someone if I dont love myself because I dont know what love is and I dont agree with that. Love always came naturally to me, it's my make up. I understand that I should have respect and some dignity. I should not tear myself down but build myself up instead. Your approach made more sense to me and you were honest and some of those questions were brutal but it was good. It was an effort to get to the root of the problem. I feel that almost all the reasons you mentioned are ways I have sabotaged myself. I grew up in a very violent home, I was constantly made fun and put down, yelled at, physically abused and I know I wasn't in a proper frame of mind when I ended up with my ex. I know I can trace alot of this back to trauma, to so much physical and emotional abuse that it affected my mental health. I ate my feelings and was in a constant state of stress. Then I ended up with diabetes, pcos and adrenal fatigue. I think there are so many things holding me back but one step at a time right? Gotta start somewhere. My health has been improving and I've been researching on more natural but intensive methods of healing and I'm having improvement. I struggle with my confidence and any belief I can do anything at all. I was told my whole life I couldn't succeed at this or that and all my ideas were shot down. My grades suffered, teachers talked to my dad and he blamed me so I was punished through detentions, suspensions and really condescending teachers. I'd fall asleep in class because my dad stayed up all night. He even blackmailed me into doing his computer course for him! Now I have this terrible, terrible fear of failing that I'm not sure how to overcome but I feel like you are a lifeline. I'm tired of hearing from people who don't share my single motherhood state but tell me how and what I should do. I'd like to meet people but I feel so awkward. It's been 5 years and then covid. I dont know how to reach out to anyone. I'm at the point in my life (32) where it's not easy to make new, lasting friendships. I want to succeed but feel so repressed. Because I wasnt allowed to explore my options, I have pent up anger even though I practice daily gratitiude. I'm not a drinker, smoker and I don't do drugs. How do you find what you love? Like my schooling was pretty controlled so I dont know if my interests are really my interests anymore. Do you know what I mean? Sometimes you like something for a period of time because something in it appeals to you until you are there doing it and then realize it's not for you. I feel like being 32, I dont feel I have all the time in the world. I've been running out of steam with my kids and health issues that I feel spent but I desperately want to feel alive and rejuvenated! I feel like I work at something and then something comes in my life that interrupts my progress and sets me 10 steps back. Yes, I also do want to feel loved again but with someone who's not broken but I need to be in that position! All my thoughts are jumbled right now. Probably my very biggest worry at the moment is the deep seated, anxiety inducing stressful thoughts of trying to be successful. I am so afraid of failing, of wasting even more time. I hope you make a video addressing your fears, mindset of persevering when your emotional and dependent on some sort of stress relief. In your case it was alcohol and it almost was for me except it was destroying my health so fast so I had to stop. I'd love it if you made another video about healthy habits vs bad habits. Substituting for example the need to overindulge, daily routines that help. Something along those lines. Thanks for listening to my ramble and I hope it made sense. Thanks for your video and I'm happy that you are in a much better place. I wasn't to be there with you one day!

@@LinhPodetti thank you! I feel I'm missing some thing in my toolbox and I'm starting to wonder if I need a life coach. There's always room and need for growth and that's what I want to do but often I get caught up in my day to day duties and forget the longer plan that i should be working towards. I guess it's just easy to get caught up in routine and your mental state becomes a routine as well. Would love to hear how you kept yourself going, what ignited you when you were down and how you kept to your goals. See, I keep my family at a distance now and I am feeling better for it. It's good for me and so I'm beginning to see how negativity can hurt and affect any plans at all. What about the negativity you can't avoid? You could be in a bad environment which you have no control over for example working a job as a single parent that offers childcare options and ability to work from home at times and no one can compete with that but your co workers are very negative people. Sometimes your in a situation and there is no end in sight. I don't know where or how I can get certified and go to school. I'm looking at shorter term options. What mental tools would you use? I would love to hear more of your thoughts and opinions.

To be honest, not everyone in this lifetime will get everything they desire, I.e, great kids, good husband, solid finances, dream career, grow old gracefully, healthy, etc. We humans want the full package or close to full package. Oftentimes we need to make sacrifices and put in a lot of effort. Maybe we just need to be grateful at times, that is take the good with the bad, better yourself when you can, with things we can't control, learn acceptance. For things that are within our control/free will, we just do our best and be true to yourself. There are many other people in worst situations and some in better. The list always gets longer. If your a single mother, it's not the end of the world, but also don't expect that you should be entitled to receive a better life if your not willing to put in any effort. The universe owes you nothing, your already alive and you have much freewill to create the life you want right now for yourself and your kids. Whatever it is you can do right now counts the most, and certainly what we do now counts to our future, there are no guarantees, but when we are on the right path we feel at peace and the future then looks brighter. Also it maybe a little weird, but even if you are a single mum with troubled finances and a toxic ex, there will be someone in the world that will still trade places with you in a heartbeat.

How was your relationship with your parents and was your father at home? How are you so 'unloved' within te confines of your blood family, you had to go seek it outside thinking that a man penatrating you equated to love from family members.. seems a bit off but accountability is better than cope.
