    Welcome to ULTIMATE KARATE! 🥋🎌⛩🔥🙏
    Hi my friends! This is Kata UNSU. I believe this is the most technically advanced kata in Shotokan Karate. Unsu has many sequences that are physically demanding and require a great deal of coordination. My advice for this kata is to practice very slow, and then you will naturally build your rhythm. Good luck and train hard!
    OSS,
    Jason 🥋🎌⛩🔥🙏

    Fantastic, I remember practicing Shotokan when I was younger, then I went to learn Kishindo Karate alittle different but Katas were the same. I stop after reaching Green Belt, Loved Kata, I then went to Pratice Muay Thai later on.
    What many don't understand about Kata is I remember when we had to get into groups and do what I think is called "Bunkai" where the actual Kata is basically if you were being attacked by multiple opponents, hence the direction quick change to blocks. So as a group 3 would stand adjacent and as one performing the kata others would attack with either straight punch or Low kick according to the kata. Then you would perform the kata E..g Gudan Borai from low kicking opponent followed by Ouizuki punch. then behing attacker goes to low kick you immediately Pivot and block then counter with a Migeiri or ect. I wish I continued. My favourite stance was Kututsudachi. Knife hand. because weight on back legs. alows you to kick with speed. Forgive me for incorrect Japanese spelling of moves. what I loved is Karate you must learn the Japanese terminology. and the level of respect you must show to your Sesei. I remember I was so passionate when doing Karate. One day when with my brother who also trained with me. we saw our Sensei with his wife outside casually, and because of the amount of respect we had, and naturally bowing "Oss" we both bowed "Ossed on the street. He laughed and said only in the Dojo not on the street. Me and my brother were really good, we would practice at home. when grading from White to Organge we did so well we almost double graded to Red. by one Point. very strict grading. I wish they just gave us the red.

    Hi! Quick question.. About the kumite stance of shotokan karate (or in general, semi contact karate), how far should one’s feet be kept from each other?
    I wonder why from the videos of the competitions present online I see that more or less all athletes of these styles, tend to hold very wide positions. And this is quite strange, since semi-contact karate emphasizes the rapidity and agility of movements, and holding positions so wide Is hard to move quickly on the legs

    • @ULTIMATEKARATEOFFICIAL
      @ULTIMATEKARATEOFFICIAL  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      this is so the fighter can go in and out fast, if the feet are too close, it will take to long to shift back or forward.

    • @awesomeayra9228
      @awesomeayra9228 ปีที่แล้ว

      also, typically it’s easier to transfer weight onto one foot or the other, kicks and sweeps can move faster, as well as less likely to be sweeper when you’re more grounded. It also means u can get lower for a gyaku chudan for example- try compare it to fencing, kumite is similar to fencing but w hands

I've been practicing Karate for years, but the level of expertise in this video is just on another level. The instructions are clear, concise, and easily understandable which makes it easy for anyone to learn, regardless of their skill level. It's evident that a ton of dedication, passion, and mastery went into crafting this tutorial. I'll definitely be using this to sharpen my own skills. Amazing job! Nice, strong, one of my favor Katas. Respectfully ,In Yoie arms too open , arms should be shoulder wide ,straight down . Legs open to shoulder wide . Feet straight forward . Relax a little in between movements. Do not raise shoulders , in blocks nor punch . Movements will faster and smoother. Great work ,never give up. I am a senior , train everyday. Life is daily discipline. BUSHIDO LAW OUSSS
