This man went from being a School music teacher who unfortunately lost his job, to now being a big time TH-camr who still does what he loves to do every day playing music and teaching that music and reaching more people than he would have ever reached before. This man is without a doubt a hero in my book.
Marty, if you’ll indulge me. The album, High Infidelity, was released in 1981, and I liked it; I guess I still do. I was working as a dude wrangler on an Arizona guest ranch at the time and I recall talking about REO Speedwagon and this album with some of the staff at the ranch. There was a guy working there (not as a wrangler) who liked me, but was saddened by my love of this pop-rock band and album. With genuine pity, he shared his affinity for edgier music from Judas Priest, Slayer, Iron Maiden and the like. It really was kinda touching. Anyway, pop-rock or not, this is a pretty good song.
I was not an Reo Speedwagon fan until I saw them live at the Oshkosh Airshow several years ago and learned about their love of aviation...They put on a great live show!

Thats a surprisingly fun track to play. Before covid I couldnt even tell you what a G chord was and now thanks to marty I just knocked out this song easily.

When I was a rock n roll newbie, I would put Hi Infidelity album on the turntable, proceed to lie on the floor with a stereo speaker on each side of my head and get lost in the music for hours. Good times! Thanks Marty. RIP Gary Richrath.

He never lost his job. He’s still a music teacher, to a broader audience 🤙
