Oh, it can definitely be done. But at the small scale we are at, losing even 1 pig to illness would drop our bottom line significantly. Feeding a pig to 6 months and then losing I would wipe out almost all the profit from that batch. If you’re farrowing, it’s a different story.
Your a GOD!....thank you thank you ..I know it can be done...force them to dig and forage..Live or die...you get strong healthy animals...but..I also like them to have a dry place to sleep...they need that break out of the elements... (Is this thinking correct) Good vibes
im like a sponge soaking up as many different methods as I can ..so I can make something that works for my particular situation...having a world of people willing to share and communicate what works, and what doesnt..by those who have come before me...how do you put a price on that knowledge...its very humbling to be the student..but it feels realy good to join a world of like minded people who actually care about what there doing, and how they do it

Good vids for sure but 95% of them are farm tours "my dog, my kids bicycle, last week the neighbors...". Great for city people dreaming but us busy farmers need these vids to get to the point.
Instead ofbannually buying plastic snow shovels purchases some nice flat front shovels with good handles. They will last longer when maintained and won't cost that much more

I am looking to homestead full time in about a year in Southern NH.
Why can you only sell wholes or halfs of pigs?
State regulations I would think.
