DOCTOR WHO | Every 1980's Story Rated in 10 Seconds - ตลก
It’s a Doctor Who 60th anniversary miracle!
DAVIS, this video showcases you have an admirable talent for odd descriptions that somehow end up making a lot of sense. For pretty much every rating I was like "what?... actually yeah, that's a perfect way to describe it", even when I disagree with some of the actual ratings. A lot really work because of how strange and specific the context of 80s Who is... I think my favorite is _Dragonfire_ being "bravely competent".
Wait the first story of the 80s was the HORNS OF NIMON?! Thats actually really funny. 10/10 for irony. The only thing that saved that episode for me was Lalla Wards outfit. Who would have thought a red overcoat could distract my brain from the lack of plot.
Parts Three and Four were shown in January 1980.
Lalla Ward's outfit in that story is one of my favourite Doctor Who costumes ever, and it's criminal that people don't talk about it more.
YESS So happy we will finally have the complete DAVIS Classic Who ratings!!!!
Great video! Dont think ive ever disagreed with one more
Personally, I think classic Doctor Who ending with a 6 is actually appropriate
My god so many 1s. But hey, knew that was happening.
Love you Sam, the fact you've been harsh on 5 and his TARDIS teams and yet his first two seasons by the numbers seem more consistent than Tom's run. That's the fun of this channel.
Honestly punched the air for you giving Varos a 10, but wish Rememberance got a 10, purely cause I want every Doctor to have a 10 somewhere. 7 and 13 miss out I guess 😢

I recently rewatched the 60s and 70s videos and was so looking forward this, always a fascinating watch
cant wait for more takes like "inferno is a 4/10" !!!!!
Lovely that you’ve come around to Paradise Towers. Not one of the best stories but one of my go-tos for casual viewing, it and happiness patrol are JNT gaudiness used for good, unique TV. Too bad he couldn’t have done that before he had already sunk the ship.
Hard disagree on Mark of the Rani, the plot isn’t anything interesting but the interplay between Colin Baker, Anthony Ainley, and Kate O’Mara is fantastic enough to make it a strong 5 (or perhaps 6) imo.
Aaaah! Eagerly awaiting your next video!!!!
"Strong start" indeed! The Horns of "Nemon". Nemon! Hilarious!
Sam, the leak you're thinking of is talking about what episodes COULD be Moffat's. He only has the one, but they're not sure which of two places it's in. The most recent leak is on (yt will get mad if I actually say it properly) arr gallifrey. It's like 5 hours old, he's only got the one. And it's even worse. The two new writers who were announced? They're apparently cowriting one episode together.
You defiantly spent more than 10 seconds on Meglos 😜
I say this not at all seriously just to comment something for the almighty algorithm (all hail the algorithm)
Phil I spent 6 HOURS on meglos I fell asleep so many times. Let's just say it's reflective of that
@@SamyulDavis 🤣🤣
Was not expecting this so soon, but glad to see it! Interesting to see we have the opposite opinion on Trial of a Time Lord.
Time flight and arc of infinity are under rated AF! I love both those stories! Mawdryn Undead is amazing!
I am slightly curious as to your reasoning behind Mark of the Rani. I mean, yes, it's bad, but I don't think I'd give it a 1. It looks pretty damn good, if nothing else.
Sam, re: "Capaldi said Moffat did the same thing", that some people are saying - you can just point out that we _know_ what episodes Moffat did Davies level rewrites on in the Capaldi era. He put his name on them. They have cowriting credits. There are definitely rumors about certain episodes in S5 and S6 that _don't_ have his name on them, but we can be pretty certain that Moffat was much more hands off compared to Davies. (Also, Sandifer has made comments about how Moffat was less involved, and she's more in the know than random twitter users. Obviously he'd still do so when needed, of course.)
hm, a day late to the obvious upload date i see.. very well my boy, very well (read in the first doctors voice)
hope we get another broke canon soon, miss that series
When Doctor Who finished in the 1970s. No that's the whole sentence.
Scream of the Shalka is the great intelligent when he jumped into the doctor timeline think about it
A capella piss taking of Paddy Kingsland means I can forgive EVERY negative thing you have to say about it. :)
watching blurred footage can only go so long.
Bring on the usual Davis' unexpected unpopular opinions
I like Arc of Infinity.
Michael gough makes that story
Shame he never returned as the toymaker but at least he returned as Alfred in all 4 batman films
Peri in a bikini should be more than 2
RIP BOZO - KISSINGER DOWN. Chomsky next, inshallah. Hoping Carter outlives him.
Honestly, my only hard disagrees are Greatest Show and Battlefield. Give em both an 8
As much as I like 80s who, as i just have bad taste and i grew up watching the good 80s stories, it is an embarrassment and yeah maybe the show did deserve to get cancelled, and the behind the things drama didn't help and JNT should have been replaced early on, it is an endearing love, it has alot of ideas, characters and things that I love, held together by... well I don't think it was, and thank god twitter didnt exist in the 80s, I love you 80s who but you are not ok
Yoyo YO, did you just say a doctor who d&d podcast is coming out?
Yeah, he misspoke, it's a _Faction Paradox_ Exalted 2e podcast, obviously. :P
(Not sure if this joke is gonna find its target audience here.)
@@najawin8348 Honestly this channel is the only place anyone might get that joke
@@TimelordRick I like it. It has layers.
The "soft cancel" was after Season 22 not 23
Can always count on DAVIS for some really hot takes. Just goes to show TH-camrs aren't professionals, just ranting simps. DAVIS is clearly a Tennant/Smith fan-boy who holds Classic Who's pacing to New Who standards.
- Four to Doomsday at 7 (which takes so long to get going, the most boring villains who literally just sit in chairs almost 100% the time), rated higher than Castrovalva and Logopolis? LOL (obviously he can't appreciate slower-paced stories which are thought-provoking and time taken to develop character)
- Remembrance of the Daleks not a 10? Bizzare.
Not 100% accurate, (I'm a Troughton and Capaldi nerd) but yes, absolutely unprofessional. I love that that there's no agreement on which ones are the good ones. Some stories I adore the big episode count and sometimes I can't. Might just be the editor in me always wanting to abridge. Recommend the 60s one, might change your mind.
I knew kids like you at school….im so cool, I prefer the b side of going underground. Lmao
Just not my era.
'a dire decade for most things...'??!!!
Really 1 for arc of infinity
I'm sorry, go back and watch it again and before you say it, you're watching it for hedin
You're watching it for Michael gough (Batmans Alfred/toymaker)
The rest is weak I'll agree but not a one
I enjoy Black Orchid and Timelash
I've been getting into classic doctor who for the first time recently now it's all on iPlayer, and I have to say starting with McCoy really got me into it. It's similar enough to the revival to be a bit of a jumping on point into classic, and honestly even the super hokey stories are fun. Delta and the Bannermen is probably my least favourite of what I've watched so far (also that sounds like a band) and even that's fun enough. I have Time and the Rani and Battlefield left to go, then I'll jump more into 4, my other favourite classic doctor so far.
It's a reference to the band Echo and the Bunnymen.
Hold on... this includes the 90's!
Good, more Davies content
*resigned sigh* "Master smol." :D
Bravo sir 👏
"No, not the probe mind."
I did it wrong. But to be fair, so did they.
You are wrong about two doctors, its a -20 again
Not sure one shower is enough to wash off all that Glitz.
10 seconds, what are you talking about this is half an hour long!
14:18 why do you say this like you're suprised? A two seems like the obvious choice for something called the twin dilemma
I don't think you get the joke
0:30 The Horns of... "Nimmon"? Soldeed will be most displeased ;)
You underrate the Davison years horribly imo. Time-Flight, Arc of Infinity, The Awakening, all of those are perfectly serviceable romps, far from being disasters. And Mawdryn Undead, Warriors of the Deep, and Planet of Fire are masterpieces of the era, frankly. Give me Fivey's worst output any day of the week over Tom Baker's tortured middle period.
I was going to say something about a few of the bafflingly low ratings you’ve given a bunch of these, but I am pleasantly surprised to find a second person who really likes The Mysterious Planet! That’s ALMOST enough to let me forgive your ratings for Greatest Show in the Galaxy and Battlefield…
Sorry haven't been tuned in for awhile but I came here to say remember davis' cool idea for a regeneration where there are 2 doctors and you don't know which is the real one? Bro WATCH THE SPECIAL. I've been spoiled by it a bit so idk what exactly happened but heck yes
Hornd of nimon is under rated
Jesus Christ man put the episode names under the scores
Good video though
I purposely say the title for each of them this time!
@@SamyulDavisI HAD TO GOOGLE HALF OF THEM WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT
Mawdryn Undead gets a 2? Ouch
Are you going to be best & worst of 13?
Leisude hive is a -20. Dreadful story and unwatchable. Warriors gate is awful too. Season 18 is the worse pre Whittaker series.
A messy all over tge place regeneration story with too much to do.
An aquired taste one in warriors gate
Keepee and Meglos fine but far from greats.
And Leisure Hive is one kfnthe most boring and unwatchable stories ever.
Tom Baker is at his worse. He looks bored and tired here and proof he overstayed.
Full Circle and State of Decay however are the onky things that carry this story
