- Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are autonomous Engineering and Management institutes. They are the premier Institutes in India. Getting admitted to IITs is every student’s dream. But, for admission to IITs, one has to first appear and qualify for the JEE Main entrance exam.
Qualifying for JEE is the most difficult task for every student.
What if you could not get into IIT through JEE?
Well, there are many other ways to get into IITs for other courses like B.Des., M.Des., M.Sc., M.Tech., MA in Humanities, PhD, etc.

Yes,
The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras, has restructured its existing M.A. program from 5 years to 2 years. It has also added Economics to the existing Development Studies and English Studies streams. From 2023, instead of HSEE, GATE score will be used for admission.
IITM offers two online courses;
1. B.Sc. (Data Science)
2. B.S.(Electrical Systems)
Instead of entrance through JEE, candidates would have to apply through an in-built four-week qualifier process. Those who apply will be provided access to four weeks of content taught by IIT Madras faculty and the qualifier exam will be based on this content alone.
Nice information especially for Tamil students much needed one . I got admission through JAM exam only ,but still no one knows about that exam hopefully more Tamil students will emerge quickly to crack such a kind of exams.

The economics course at IIT's is mainly for those with PCM in their class 12 and those who cleared JEE Advanced. It is not meant for arts & Commerce students. The Economics course includes high level mathematics and other scientific approaches towards economics so its not for a person with arts/commerce background.

No, you cannot attend JEE (Advanced) this year with the help of your previous year's JEE (Main) score. The eligibility criteria for JEE (Advanced) require you to qualify in the current year's JEE (Main) examination.

Yes, but this year, the last date for online registration with regular fee has been extended till Friday, 28th October 2022. The last date for online registration with late fee is Friday, 4th November 2022.

IIT JAM is a common entrance test for admissions in master's courses such as MSc, Integrated Ph. D., Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD Dual Degree. It is not for engineering courses.

As per my knowledge, M.Sc,(Physics) with GATE score is widely accepted for M.Tech.(Aerospace Engg.) admission in IITs. M.Sc,(Mathematics) is also accepted. But, M.Sc,(Chemistry) is not eligible.
In IIT Madras, M.Sc.(Chemistry) with GATE score is accepted for Master of Science (A research-based post-graduate programme) in Aerospace Engg.
B.Sc.(Chemistry) is nowhere accepted.

Ask him to choose the research area where he wants to work and select a supervisor and get permission to act as a supervisor to him. Then, apply for a Ph.D. program when Anna University/any other university announces a Ph.D. admission notification. He has to attend a written test and interview to get the admission. This is the admission procedure for Anna University. IITs may have a similar procedure.

IITs do not offer admission in Bachelor of engineering courses through lateral entry. But, you can write JEE for 1st year admission in IITs. Also, diploma candidates can enter into normal engg. colleges in the second year as lateral entry.
I do not take the JEE exam.
Can I still write GATE if I completed my B Tech course at a private tier 3 college? Even if I do write the GATE exam, will IIT accept me, and if they do, will I get placement from top companies, and am I considered an IIT student despite only studying masters there?

There is no other way to enter into IIT to do Engineering.
If you want to do B.E./B.Tech., you have to write JEE.
If you want to do M.E./M.Tech., you have to write GATE.

Sir diploma holder eligible for iit entrance exam
JEE's eligibility criteria about diploma is given as,
"A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration".
So, you are eligible to write JEE.
But, IITs won't allow lateral entry admissions. Hence, you can join only in first year.

During the recent placements, 85.71% of students from the B.Des batch of IIT Bombay got placement offers. The average CTC offered to IIT Bombay B.Des students were INR 35 LPA and INR 17.9 LPA, respectively.
IIT Guwahati B.Des is one of the highly paid branch. Almost 95% of students from the branch get placed each year. The average CTC for the branch is INR 14-15 LPA. Students of B.Des are usually employed in roles like UI/UX designers. Some of the major recruiters are Uber, Sprinklr, AppDynamics, Myntra, etc.

UX design involves managing the user journey as they interact with a product or service, while UI design focuses on the actual construction of that product or service's interface. UX design usually comes first in the product development process, followed by UI.
One of the specialisations in B.Des. is product design. I think it may has UX/UI design in its curriculum.
Every specialisation has its own curriculum. Some of the popular BDes specialisations include:
Fashion Design
Graphic Design
Interior Design
Product Design
Textile Design
Industrial Design etc.

Yes, if you have a diploma from a recognised board in India then you are eligible for admission to BCA course.
For admission you must have passed in 3 year Diploma in a branch of Engineering from a polytechnic recognized institution with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
Well, Some colleges will provide you direct admission in 2nd year (lateral entry) of BCA Course after completing 3 year diploma course.
