1. Iggy - lava monsters, direction changes due to pipes, running on the ceiling, yeah this one is the best of the bunch by a mile 2. Morton - very cool use of the spiny, hard to predict if he'll hit them in the air or roll them towards you 3. Ludwig - duplicating and flying with the castle in the background is epic, a little too easy to spot the real one 4. Roy - flying platforms and the bullet bill cannon was cool, decent at worst 5. Wendy - nothing bad, ring gimmick is still there, would've preferred something else, but icicle gimmick was nice 6. Lemmy - too easy without pits on the edges, fine at best 7. Larry - same feel as the Wii version, uncreative and blandish

If you ask me, having had played the RPGs as well as looking into the Japanese material, they are good guys. Mario is a series where you play as the bad guys if you ask me (granted it's not as black and white as that, it's a little more complicated. We know Larry doesn't even wanna fight Mario for instance as well as the fact Peach laughs about Bowser kidnapping her and the Toads trying to help in the Japanese version of Paper Jam, whereas the US version changed it into her complaining which was dumb. I guess it's more of a series where you are playing as people who are on the side of the real bad guys unknowingly, thinking they are good), especially clear when you look at the Japanese material and see the real intentions they had, Nintendo Treehouse clouds things up by making unnecessary changes in an attempt to twist the narrative into "bad guys bad good guys good" even though it really didn't work on me at all whatsoever.

I think it is a sprite mod. They're actually playing as toadette, as you can see in the top left corner of the screen. Toadettes voice sounds like peachs voice, so this is why NintendU chose peach as a sprite mod.
