    I think i know a way to make the skip setting useful. You could unspool all the line and reel it up opposite the way it is now. Essentially you could just reel your anchor up with out worry of loosing your grip ad dropping it back in the water. Let the reel secure all your progress. Just an idea!

    Man that's a million dollar idea! I'm going to get one for my kayak and one to attach to my boat trailer to launch my boat!

    This is awesome, I need to look at getting this for my yak. I haven’t installed an anchor trolley yet, but I plan on doing it in the next month or so.

      Yea an anchor trolley helps a ton so you can position yourself better on a spot. And if its really windy and your anchor is on the side, not forward or aft, you can flip over.

    Great video! I happened to find an inexpensive dive reel that allows me to bolt it to the kayak track. IMO, regardless of price, the dive reel is an improvement over the Anchor Wizard. The AW seems to be designed to drop and maintain the anchor from a single end of the kayak. I, like you, use my anchor trolley to move the attachment point as needed.

    So glad I came across your video. I've been wondering how to make my anchoring system much cleaner. I run an anchor trolley but I hate the excess line and having to coil it up. This is a fantastic idea. Much appreciated.

    its a handheld fishing "pole"
    you attach it to stakes on the shore or your boat and reel it in when a fish latches...

    Not as good as the Anchor Wizard? Beg to differ. Give yourself some credit brother, that's an awesome idea. Kinda mad I'm seeing this the day after I bought a whole setup lol. Good stuff. Tryin it out.

    Very nice and thanks. I am using a dive reel for my kayak, and the reel after one summer's use it broke. The reel is those typical ones found on amazon that are small. The one in your video looks bigger and stronger and holds more thicker line, too. Do you have amazon link to this particular reel as shown in your video? Thanks you.

      Sorry for the late response. But on amazon this is the name of the dive reel im using.. “Scuba Choice Scuba Diving Multi Purpose Dive Reel 150'

    Pretty cool. Why not just use the carabiner on the dive reel to snap straight to your trolley so you don't have excess line?

    O fish mostly rivers so a small 3lb grapple anchor and a retractable 25ft dog leash works perfectly for my needs. Whole setup costs me about 18bucks

      This is an open water reel. No cave diver would use thus type of reel.

    Do not anchor or use drag chain in current. Use zip tie break away, then retreive....been lot guys go in cause a snagged anchor pulled their boat under in current.

    A clothes line reel works well too. It's spring loaded so It automatically reels in your line as you pull it in.

    DO NOT anchor a kayak with this line... anchor your kayak or inflatable with a folding grapnel anchor... please...

    • @richyoung4051
      @richyoung4051 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      why is that? i got one for calm fresh water fishing. im assuming the line can be fraid over time and snap?

    • @ThereIsNeverEnough
      @ThereIsNeverEnough 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@richyoung4051 Grapnel anchors won't snag if you rig them right (from bottom to top w/ break away zip tie.)
      There's few things worse in boating than being on a boat, snagged by your anchor, and the boat isn't sturdy enough to withstand the force of breaking whatever it's snagged on. You could rip inflatables apart or flip canoes just trying to get unstuck... best case scenerio, you cut the line and lose your anchor.

    • @ThereIsNeverEnough
      @ThereIsNeverEnough 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not to mention, what he's using is basically an industrial fishing line.... you attach it to a stern with a BiG ol hook on the end; then troll saltwater for a 1/2 ton fish.

    • @ThereIsNeverEnough
      @ThereIsNeverEnough 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not exactly the same... it's actual purpose is to pull divers up when they can't swim up on their own (or in time)... but in terms of fishing, it can be used as a trolling line for tuna, marlin, shark... etc...

    • @RandoBogus
      @RandoBogus 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ThereIsNeverEnough What's wrong with a 5 lb mushroom anchor? Is this not the way they're meant to be used? Freshwater lakes, light craft?
