I have yet to cruise, but it is on my bucket list for this year. I have seen a lot of ships offering cruises for $125.00 to $150.00 per night, I'm single with no kids so I don't think I would ever spend $10,000.00 for a cruise or even half that. I don't even know anyone who could afford that, most jobs in the Midwest only pay $25 to $35 dollars an hour, so I would have to think that's a once-in-a-lifetime thing and then you're in debt for a couple years, or there are a lot more rich people out there than I know about. People around here are looking for side hustles and part-time jobs to make ends meet. It did look like a very nice ship, but I think most Americans could never afford it.
Have to keep in mind this specific cruise was the only and first double stop to Lighthouse Point and a stop at Castaway Cay for the year…. Rare for a double stop to the private islands in one cruise and you definitely pay extra for it. Not all 7 day cruises are this expensive.
Disney is the Mercedes Benz of the cruise line period, don’t want to mention names but one is wild party, twerking, (back that thing up ) no proper for families and don’t want my kids around that. Other is a mall With pool and slides. But Magic of Disney is elegant, ship is top notch and the employees are above and beyond. I did them all and always would choose Disney.
I've been on Disney Fantasy twice. We have since moved to other cruise lines (Celebrity traveling as adults and RC when with the grandkids). The pricing reflects an upcharge for the Disney brand and a limited number of ships in their fleet. This is NOT a premium cruise line. I'm not bashing DCL, just simply saying the value proposition isn't there compared to alternatives. We enjoyed both cruises but also feel the quality of the food, service and amenities in many cases is at or below other cruise options available. My grandkids (ages 6 and 8) loved the Disney cruise and it hits that demographic well. As adults traveling alone, my opinion is there are so many better options both in price and overall quality than DCL such as Celebrity, Princess, Holland America or Virgin. Sorry Disney adults, getting your picture taken with a crew member in a character costume hardly justifies the significant upcharge.
Not sure about the food being below par. The main dining room on our cruise was certainly as good as celebrity or princess and better than RCI. But you do pay for the Disney name, which for some is worth the extra costs. Happy cruising.
@@mlew251 a lot goes into making a cruise line premium…one important thing being the general “quality “ ( for want of a better word) of passengers. I took a Disney cruise in 2014 a 5 night on the wonder leaving from Miami. For two cabins and 5 people, it costs us $4000. We stayed in two interior cabins. We did have a blast, but my kids were younger and it was a nice experience.
I’m going on the 10-day one next week, and personally my family chose Disney because we wanted a single cruise that would be extra special instead of potentially going on a cheaper cruise more often. We live up north and this is the first cruise we’ve been on in 10 years so we don’t get down there very often. We are also Disney fans so it is what worked for us ☺️ I suppose the choice depends on whatever you’re looking to get out of a cruise though!
I have to watch this later but pre-watching, I just have to say we NEVER spent $10k on a Disney cruise and that’s for 2 adults 1 child. For 7 night on the Disney Fantasy the most we paid was $4200 (VGT rate) that was last summer. Paid $3400 for Alaska mind u inside. On average we pay $3500-$4500 for 3 in a verandah stateroom,7 n Caribbean.
We have a 7 night cruise on the Fantasy coming up with a similar verandah room and paid only $4160 for two people. I think the timing and itinerary of this cruise must have affected the price in some way.
About 20 years ago my family took a Disney cruise for the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve. It was fabulous. I think some of the entertainment was different than other times in the year but I am not sure. We only got the cabin because another family cancelled. This was when you would book such trips through AAA.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 No but my husband's sister and her husband recently took a river cruise down the Rhein which they really enjoyed. However I think they care more about the fancy food and wine than we did. We chose Disney because or sons were ages 5 and 10 at the time. The price was $7000 (including flights from CA to FL and back) for a family of 4 in an interior cabin smack dab in the middle of the lowest deck which, in theory, should be one of the most motionless points of the ship and still I was sea sick most of the time.
I like fancy but I’m with you on that. I’m cheap ..I like carnival. I see that RC has some interesting stuff though. There is absolutely nothing Disney has that is worth paying that much for. I’m an adult and have no kids. To me it’s kinda weird anyway if I took a Disney cruise.
We booked a year ago for the 10 day Southern Caribbean on the Fantasy sailing next week. For 3 adults we paid $12k for our verandah cabin. At $400 pp/pd I feel it's going to be well worth it!!! Lookout and Castaway are on the itinerary 😊

Lucky for us we love MSC and the European culture. We sailed the 17 night transatlantic repositioning on the Seashore covering the Mediterranean, Canary Islands, Caribbean and finishing in Florida. We paid £2186 per person for a balcony cabin with the premium drinks package and all gratuities included, plus £100 each ship board credit which got us the 4 speciality restaurant dining package. However, if you booked a 7 night normal eastern or western cruise on the Fantasy for 2 adults it would be 4000.00 to 5000.00 depending on cabin. Three Disney cruises in and, after sailing with other lines, I believe they’re worth the extra cost. No nickel and diming and no smoky casino to walk through to get to other places. We’ve done 8 Disney cruises. At this point we’ve done all the ships except for the dream. This video while great fails to point out that this particular itinerary is priced higher due to the 2 private island stops and particularly bc lookout cay is brand new. Non DCL travelers will not know this and will not realize that more often than not you’re not hitting those prices. We have never paid more than 8k for our family of 4 for a Disney cruise. Alaska will likely be the only exception and looking at Alaska 2025 I could sail the quantum for $5200 in a large balcony room and dcl wonder (our least fave ship) is $10k for an oceanview room and over 14k for a balcony. We have really struggled being willing to try other companies as a family bedsides dcl bc of kids club, no smoking, no casino and all shows including adult only things are more tame than other lines. Smoking casinos on rcl are a major turn off. I also feel that the clientele that sails rcl vs dcl is quite different and I’m unsure I’d feel comfortable elsewhere.
Disney cruises are better a higher quality cruise. The big thing that I like is there are not a bunch of drunk people aboard. Plus the ships are elegant
Another DCL frequent flyer. We just went on a Princess Alaskan cruise. Much cheaper price, and yet some things they did were actually ahead of DCL. Food at the buffet, and pool access/relaxing spaces was vastly improved over DCl. As the ship we rode tends to do that itinerary often, they have amenities tailored for it, such as a large indoor pool area. We didn’t miss out on the family stuff as much but we will say main dining on DCL was an order of magnitude better (we just opted to do the buffet the last two nights for dinner). The casino existed but was not centrally located so the kids never even saw it. The kids clubs were smaller, but on our cruise (labor day) out of the 2K guests only 80 were kids in the age group. Price was half DCL offered but an extra day and one that let us miss less days of school (2). We upcharged to the Princess Plus for all and it still was about 33% cheaper while granting basically unlimited (for my liver) alcohol. If you look at it, i advise Plus for adults only, kids can get special drinks from you and gain little else, but if you don’t bring kids maybe spring for Premium. After seeing another cruise line, I appreciate some things DCL has but find if it wants to keep sucking out my bank account, it may need to do better, and you wont find me on the wish/Treasure any time soon.
WHY DID IT COST THAT MUCH? we have a 5 day cruise in March on the same ship same room type only two floors up from yours it's $3824.00 you think 2 days more cost $6200.00 we are also spending 4 days at the Swan and Dolphin and we still aren’t at the $10000 dollar mark. and we are flying first class from la to orlando. you are trying to spend too much. flight and hotel $2500.00 includes two days 2 tickets to Disney World. Cruise tickets for 2 on a 5 day Cruise on the fantasy $3824.00 Total $ 6324.00
>no qualms about spending $4500 on a veranda in the *western* Caribbean. at that point just go to an ultra luxury line. $4500 is what we paid for 12 nights on Celebrity Ascent for this year. (Italy, Greece, Turkey, etc)
Of course its not worth it. For 10k you can fly anywhere in the world like Greece or Thailand and go island hopping to the most amazing landscapes, eat the most amazing food, stay in nice hotels, visit the worlds most beautiful beaches and cultural sides... for an entire month.
@Eatsleepcruise1 Of course it would. Minus the flight, youll still have $300 a day left if you stay an entire month for that 10k. That is an enormous amount of money in Greece that will easily get you a very good hotelroom, good food and excellent ferries to travel around. You could even include car rentals, excursions, entrance fees to popular attractions in that budget. So not really sure what you are talking about. 🤔 The only possible exceptions might be places like Santorini and Mykonos during july and august, but those are the most expensive islands during the most expensive time of year. But why would you stay there an entire month? Couple of days is more than enough to these islands. But the general point was to awnser your question is it worth it? And the only way to awnser that is to look at what else 10k gets you. And when you do that the only logical conclusion is: No absolutely not... obviously...
Yea totally Disney fans fail to see the other places they could of gone with 10k. Easily had a blast in Paris or UK 😂 ppl love bending over for the mouse
Somethings fishy. Sounds like a Concierge price, but maybe less than Concierge on a 5-7 nights so it doesn't add up. Disney Treasure with 7 Night Verandah slated for Jan. 2025 is $6000 +/- for 2 people. Are you sure you weren't robbed somewhere?
This is the easiest of answers… NO! I am not sure how you can call kids crawling around on the floors, or crying as their parents force them to wait in another line to “meet a princess” as an upscale experience- it’s not. You liked it because you wanted to like it. I spent half of what you spent and still would never do it again!! ☹️

DCL is NOT worth the money. We were on the sister ship the Dream. It should've been named the NIGHTMARE! Not one show executed properly. One was delayed for a day and even then stopped multiple times and even when it ran, had audio and other tech problems. The ship had only ONE fully working drink fountain. The buffet had a bad A/C system and was vibrating the ceiling panels. We had a flood on the staircase as a pipe burst. Their were bugs all over the back top deck. The food was bland and was NEVER hot, sometimes barely warm. The servers were lousy and pushy, as well as obnoxious. While they SAY they "get to know you", they DON'T. I don't hold that against them they see lots of people, just don't tout that as a plus, when it's NOT TRUE. They barely recognized our faces. The ONLY good food we had to pay extra for in Palo and Remy, with the server in Palo so special, she was the ONLY person that was good on the whole ship! The snack food was atrocious, the chicken fingers were hard as rocks and the burgers dry, with dry crumbly buns. Our cabin steward was so bad that I ended up telling them not to come in at all and I made our beds. The fold down bed was hard as a rock, their only "solution" they had was to bring a smelly piece of foam that wasn't the right size. The wi-fi was pathetic This doesn't even include how bad the island was. All of this for a price that was 3 TIMES the price of the RCL ship with the same itinerary and went to their own private island/area. DCL "claims" to be a premium line, it's NOT. Not even close to premium. They just CHARGE like they are. Service-bad, food-basic, entertainment-lackluster and problem filled. There's actually more that happened, but that's just the short list. Save your money and try almost ANY other line, unless you HAVE to give the kids corporate disney. This is no longer the Disney of when this line was created in the 90's. Maybe at that time it was worth the price, but NOT NOW!
Yeah, I believe I would have Bought.Maybe a couple of acres of land Or a couple of cars instead of having a sale two organs just to spend a couple of nights in a floating petri dish

After seeing another cruise line, I appreciate some things DCL has but find if it wants to keep sucking out my bank account, it may need to do better, and you wont find me on the wish/Treasure any time soon.
I’m not joking I think I was on the same boat as you, I saw the same shows and people, and I went from June 29 to July 6
WHY DID IT COST THAT MUCH? we have a 5 day cruise in March on the same ship same room type only two floors up from yours it's $3824.00 you think 2 days more cost $6200.00 we are also spending 4 days at the Swan and Dolphin and we still aren’t at the $10000 dollar mark. and we are flying first class from la to orlando. you are trying to spend too much. flight and hotel $2500.00
includes two days 2 tickets to Disney World. Cruise tickets for 2 on a 5 day Cruise on the fantasy $3824.00 Total $ 6324.00
Yea this dude in the video is the type to flex how much he spent even tho he was bent over and on his knees 😂
Holy Moly. That is a TON of money.
There are plenty of more expensive cruises.
>no qualms about spending $4500 on a veranda in the *western* Caribbean.
at that point just go to an ultra luxury line. $4500 is what we paid for 12 nights on Celebrity Ascent for this year. (Italy, Greece, Turkey, etc)
Celebrity ascent is not ultra luxury. It's premium along with dcl
Sliver sea and viking are ultra luxury lines
Well, at least the icon of the seas is more expensive 🤷♀️
That is true. Have you sailed on Icon?
Interesting my post saying I would not pay $10,000 for a Disney Caribbean Cruise was deleted?
Very interesting.
For an amazing cruise, leave your crazy kids at home and go Virgin....Oops,did I say that out loud 🙊
🤣 yes, you said that out loud. Virgin is great. We are going on Brilliant Lady next year. You?
@Eatsleepcruise1 We're doing a Rock Star cabin to Turks and Caicos 🎸😎
Of course its not worth it. For 10k you can fly anywhere in the world like Greece or Thailand and go island hopping to the most amazing landscapes, eat the most amazing food, stay in nice hotels, visit the worlds most beautiful beaches and cultural sides... for an entire month.
Not sure where you’re staying or eating but 10k wouldn’t last that long, especially in Greece.
The only possible exceptions might be places like Santorini and Mykonos during july and august, but those are the most expensive islands during the most expensive time of year.
Not robbed, this was the price for 7 night balcony cabin for this itinerary.
10k for this is crazy. I would rather travel and see the real world not from a mega corporation like Disney.
This is insane
This is the easiest of answers… NO! I am not sure how you can call kids crawling around on the floors, or crying as their parents force them to wait in another line to “meet a princess” as an upscale experience- it’s not. You liked it because you wanted to like it. I spent half of what you spent and still would never do it again!! ☹️
So what cruise line do you sail with instead?
@@Eatsleepcruise1 if I am looking for a no-fuss cruise, I jump on NCL; I know what I’m getting and I can set my own pace. When I want to be a little bougie I take Celebrity; still affordable, but a step-up from NCL. 😊
Your choice!
Hilarious, you got a $10,000 cruise for free, your not gonna give a negative review, no one pays $10,000’for a 2 person 7 day fantasy cruise, that’s the price for 4,
We actually paid for the cruise. But thanks for playing.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 we know you need to tell your subscribers that, so you keep getting free vacations instead of working a real job
@@disneybaker5165 Wow. You know you can just skip videos you think are pure advertising. No need to crap all over a creator who flat out negated your comment.
10k for a cruise?You were ripped off
Ughh this video is not the normal. We just got iff the Fantasy and did a 7 night Eastern Caribbean, mid ship verandah stateroom. We paid $3800 total.
Thus sailing was charged higher because it was the first sailing to the new island and some people will pay crazy amounts of money to he first.
No thx!
AND LEARN YOUR CARTOONS HUEY DUEY AND LUEY NOT LUEY AND DUEY
Does it matter?
@@Eatsleepcruise1 you sound like an idiot when you say it wrong, “make like a tree and get out of here” “it’s leave you idiot, make like a tree and leave”
Disney cruises are for adults and adults with teens. Not for young children. They should promote it as an Disney Adult experience since there are a lot adults only experiences.
$12,000+ wasn't worth it in Orlando. There's no way it was worth it on a boat.
Disney will never get a penny from us.
Haha.We give them ALL the pennies 😂.BUT… we have never paid over $4500 for 3 ppl.
They have gotten a lot of our pennies too.
Yup...they get our pennies too!
Good for you? Want a cookie?
The presentation of the food was kinda garbo
I’ll never understand why people waste money on woke Disney or cruises
Must be nice to blow money
i hate kids and no casino on board. nothing would be worth it lol
Lol. Guess this isn’t for you.
