    Thanks for the video. I definitely would have given up without your help.
    Initially it looks impossible but with perseverance, bloody knuckles and washing up soap I got in and it works!!
    Thanks

    Just changed mine based on your information. The hose clips are tricky items and I found pulling the hoses off themselves was a bit of a task. On disassembly, there was water and gunk in the control valve coil housing. Purchased the new HCV off ebay for a tenner and now have full heat and AC control. Many thanks for this.

    Good video mate,
    I was fitting new coil pack and managed to break off one of the hoses going to heater control valve, I joined up the two pipes, I am going to fit new control valve but need to know what hose goes where on engine side

    • @markrocketmangrimstead
      @markrocketmangrimstead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you look at my vid on the control valve there is an in and out,if you have only broke off one of them it will be easy to trace, mark the other one with some tape,then you don't get mixed up.hope that helps🙂

      @@markrocketmangrimstead I have had to disconnect both pipes to join together in an emergency,
      There is a hose coming from top of engine and one coming from bottom, if you let me know which ONE goes where I can work out where the other one goes

    Hello dear Mark from Greece, great video. Please do you know how can I replace the whole heater core?! It can be done from outside or I need to remove it from the dashboard?? Please any help is important. King regards 🙏

      Hi there,i haven't ever replaced a heater before but i would assume it is under the dashboard. You will probably have to remove the centre console plastics.
      Sorry i am not much more help

    Sorry I know you did this three years ago but there is a part where you crush something with pliers and I’m not sure what that part is? it’s two minutes and 30 seconds in. I think it is the clips that you’ve put around the tubes, but surely crushing those means nothing can go through the tubes? I really honestly know nothing about Cars. I hope you see this comment or maybe another person does and can explain it to me

      Hi if you go to 3.10 minutes in I show how you compress the heater hose with water pump pliers, or you can purchase the correct tool from amazon,
      I will try and send you the link,they ate tricky to get off but persevere.

    What switch operates the power connection on the heater control valve?

    • @markrocketmangrimstead
      @markrocketmangrimstead  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The switch is the heater switch in the car,when you turn it to cold and hot it operates the valve

    I have a corroded bolt on the trim that is opposite to my wipers, this makes it impossible to remove completely (don't have the tools or want to risk my windscreen)
    Is it possible to only remove the wiper side and partially lift the side i can't remove to then change this part?
    (unsure if this makes sense)

    • @markrocketmangrimstead
      @markrocketmangrimstead  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I reckon it might be possible, if you remove the wiper mark the position of it as it can be tricky to get back in the original position.
      Its a shme you couldn't of borrowed a drill to get the corroded screw out.
      Good luck

    • @charlieevans3693
      @charlieevans3693 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @mark rocket man Grimstead thank you 😊 tried lifting the trim and got a little too heavy handed so I've buggered the plastic where the screw is - allowing me to remove the trim thankfully there's enough screws to keep it secure!
      The left pipe at the back was awful 😖
      My arms and knuckles are shredded. But was wonderful feeling the air con work even better 😅
      Hopefully next pay day I'll grab a drill 😊

    Before I go ahead and do this to my car where you having the same problem as me? When I set the climate control to the cold setting it comes out red hot! Will this solve that or should I change the thermostat?

    • @markrocketmangrimstead
      @markrocketmangrimstead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ross,on my son's and daughters ka,the problem it either got stuck on cold permanently or hot,but there cars did not have climate control,I assume you have air conditioning, that could be the issue.

    • @markrocketmangrimstead
      @markrocketmangrimstead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My advice is if the problem is the heater valve, when you install a new one,in the summer months when you have the heating mostly cold,when you use the car turn the heater on hot aswell,this helps the valve from getting stuck

    • @scottishfanta
      @scottishfanta 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I'll try that then thank you, air cons gubbed the cars only worth £500 and this is the only problem I've had so far! It been a great little car regardless

    Boss this valve works on dc voltage.controlled at cars dashboards blue cool and red hot one buttons.that button was actually a voltage controller isn't it???

    • @markrocketmangrimstead
      @markrocketmangrimstead  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes your probably correct,but it's normally the valve that's defective it seizes up

    • @TheBangersnSmash
      @TheBangersnSmash 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The controller switches on and off constantly.. It adjusts the flow by pulsing at different time intervals. The voltage stays the same no matter where you set the temperature too. But you will see the pulsing at middle temperatures

    I cannot access the heater control valve because of the bulkhead which covers it. Where are the bolts or screws which hold it in place?

    • @markrocketmangrimstead
      @markrocketmangrimstead  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Take off the plastic grill under the wipers,then I removed the screws on the plastic bulk head panel which then should allow you to gain access to the pipes and valve because you can then pull the panel forward.
